We are delighted to showcase our high quality range of approved travel providers offering fantastic experiences, tailored to the school holidays. These trips have been specifically chosen to cover a full range of holiday activities for year / grade 7-13 and on to GAP years for those leaving school. Activities take place in many parts of the world, ranging from expeditions to extraordinary destinations, cultural trips, language courses and skiing.

Each trip has been quoted in US Dollars and is exclusive of flights enabling you to plan alongside your own family travel plans, choose your airline and access from anywhere in the world, not just the UAE.

We feel it’s important to stress that all the providers in the brochure have been approved for use following health and safety checks and eligibility for student travel checks carried out on behalf of GEMS. These companies also have an existing track record for the provision of

school trips to GEMS children in the UAE and the feedback has been excellent.

In the pages that follow providers have given a brief description of themselves and the sort of activities they specialise in. Dibba Easter AdventureOur depth of expertise and experience in operating adventurous and educational trips in the region and overseas is without parallel. Therefore, we offer students an exceptional and exciting experience. A typical day is broken down into three activity periods:

After an early breakfast we take in one of the adventure activities mentioned. This is followed by a cool down period in the pool before a hearty lunch. Lunch is followed by a relaxing period where you can engage in games in the sand pitch, play volleyball, knock about a basketball or if that’s too strenuous, take on a pal at table tennis.

The afternoon session follows with yet another one of our adventure activities, after which its time to clean up before dinner. Family Volunteering in BorneoThis 10-day trip will will show you the magic of Borneo with it’s fantastic traditions, diverse cultures and incredible wildlife. Borneo is a great place to bring the family and truly has something for everyone.

Arriving into Kota Kinabalu International Airport, you will head out to the rural village of Kipouvo approximately 20km east of the city. Even though it is only about a 45 minute drive, it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, in a small beautiful valley in the foothills of the Crocker Range National Park. Here you will live with a local family in their basic but comfortable house. The house is within the community itself and therefore you will be within the village right from the start. Here you will learn some basic Malay phrases, visit the local medicine garden, learn how to tap a rubber tree, trek to a local waterfall and even try your hand at the local handicrafts.

On day 5 take a short flight over to the eastern side of Sabah to the village of Batu Puteh. Here on the banks of the mighty Kinabatangan River you will stay in an eco-camp in the rainforest; a beautiful setting right next to a huge ox-bow lake. Activities

here will range from helping out with reforestation by collecting seeds, planting seeds in the nursery and planting trees, plus wildlife observation cruises to see Proboscis monkeys, Macaques, Hornbills, Pygmy elephants and even crocodiles – don’t worry, they’re vegetarian!

On day 8 you will leave Batu Puteh and head to Sandakan where you will visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in time for feeding. This is a rare opportunity to see these endangered animals where they are free to roam in the surrounding jungle but can be enticed to the central platform by a tasty banana at feeding time. There is also a chance to visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre and experience the impressive canopy walk to view the jungle from above, perfect for anyone with an interest in birds. After a night at the Forest Edge Resort you’ll fly back to KK for a final night where there’s a chance to explore the souvenir markets or treat yourself to some pampering at one of the many local spas.
