An international exhibition of scientific and technical equipment and book publishers has been organized in the basement of the Palazzo dei Congressi in an area adjacent to the Auditorium.

The press room equipped with technical facilities is organized on the ground floor of the Palazzo dei Congres- si. Members of the media should check at the Registration Desk where they can obtain a badge which will ad- mit them to the press room, the scientific sessions, and the exhibition.

The meeting fees DO NOT include provisions for the insurance of participants against personal accidents, sickness, thefe or property damage. This applies to any event held during the meeting period. Participants are advised eo take out whaeever insurance they considernecessary.

king Money can be easily exchanged at all main banks in downtown Florence. Traditional banking hours are: Monday through Friday O&20-13:20 h. and 14:30-1530 h. Banks are closed on Saturday and Sunday. Some automaticteller machines are located outside the major banks to provide 24-hour service. Many hotels and shops accept Credit Cards. Foreign currencies may also be accepted, although the exchange rate is less favorable. A banking service is also operated at the Centro Affari.

Opening hours are 09:00-13:00 h. and 15:30-19:30 h. All shops are closedon Sunday and many close on Mon- day morning. Soml shops are open from 09:OO to 19:Otl h. continuously. Please note that April 25 is a holiday in Italy (Anniversary of the Liberation), and all the shops and banks will be closed.

A travel desk is available in the Conference area during business hours for those who need to reconfirm or change return trips or to extend their stay in Florence or in Italy.

Historic Florence is a relatively compact area, therefore, all the majorpoints of interest are within walking distance from the center of the town. Florence has an extensive network of local bus routes. Most of them stop at the main Railway Station and, therefore, next to the Palazzodei Congressi. Bus tickets may be pur- chased at most coffee-bars and tobacconists. Ticket fare is Lit. 1000, once validated the ticket can beused up to 60 minutes for multiple trips. Please note ?hat it is notpossible to buy tickets on board. Two bus companies serving several cities and towns around Florence have their Terminals next to the main Railway Station.

All major car rental companies have their offices in downtown Florence or at the Florence and Pisa Airports. Reservations are a must.

Taxis are available at the Central Railway Station approximately 5 minutes walk from the Conference centre. A radio taxi service is available by telephone dialling 4390 or 4798.

Satellite Symposia have been organized by Chiesi, Hologic, Lunar, Novo Nordisk, Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Foundation and Rotta Research Group. Asatellite symposium on Osteoporosis, organized by the Italian So- ciety for Osteoporosis will be held on Thursday, April 23 (full day) and Friday, April 24 (half day). Symposia will not be held concurrently with scientific sessions of the ICCRH Conference.

To welcome the attendees of the XIth ICCRH Conference, an opining ceremony has been scheduled in the Auditorium of the Palazzo dei Congressi on Friday, April 24. The ceremony will include a Special Scientific Lecture presented by Dr. J. Schlessinger entitled “Sign duction by receptors which regulate tyrosine phosphorylation” and a Cultural Lecture presented by Cardini on “Civic Life, Culture and Science in Florentine History of Golden Age (XIII-XIV Centuries)“. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served on the First floor of the Centro Affari at the end of the Cere- mony.
