• He was born in 1732 at Westmoreland , Virginia.

• At a young age George W studied military science.

• One of the sad things that happened to him was that his dad died when George was little, so he had to live with his big brother.

George Washington won the war by making the British surrender.

George Washington soon became the first president of the United States.

Him and some other famous people in the war became president.

Cool things about George

• George Washington became the first president of the United States.

• He married a women named Martha.

• As time went George Washington died and when he did a lot of people were sad and began to cry for him.

Phillis Wheatly• Phillis Wheatly was

kidnapped at age seven from her home Africa where she was born on Dec. 5, 1753.

• She was sold to a Boston family at an auction.

• John Wheatly bought her that day.

• It must have been terrifying for her.

Growing Up!!!

• When she grew up she learned how to write & read.

• One of her books were called “ Poems on Various Subjects Religious and Moral”

• She started to write these poems at age 14..

Cool Facts!

• Phillis Wheatly learned Greek & Latin very quickly!

• She soon became free and got married to a nice gentlemen.

• Phillis Wheatly died at a young age 31, so sad.

• Both people that I did George & Phillis had something in common they were both important in the war that is why I rehearsed them!

• Ms.Wheatly wrote pomes George was the commander very special jobs for special people.
