What is GRSP
Began in 1946 as a dream of Will WattKendall Weisinger and Atlanta RC began a similar program Students from war torn Countries to study in GA Colleges & UniversitiesAn International Service program older than TRF Ambassadorial Scholars
How GRSP Works
This is NOT AN EXCHANGE PROGRAMRotary Clubs world wide are invited to nominate student candidatesQualifying candidates are published to all Rotary Clubs in GeorgiaClubs select students to sponsor at a nearby college or university.Clubs assign host families for studentsStudents must reside in dorms
Trustees
Primary contact between Club and GRSPPrimary contact between Student and ClubThree Year TermsMaximum of 2 full termsMust be a Past President or SecretaryNominated by GRSP District Chair and appointed by District Governor
Endowment Committee
Advisory TrusteesResponsible for Endowment FundPrimary contact with clubs for contributions to the Endowment FundAlso appointed by District Governor from nominees from District Vice-Chair
Scholarship Information
One Scholastic Year, No RepeatsSchool will be Selected by ClubAll phases of School Admission by GRSP
Must Be SingleMust be 18 by 8/1 but not 25 by 8/1 entry yr.Previous Study in USA for more than 4 months disqualifiedIf Applicant Rejected by School, the Offer Withdrawn
Student Responsibilities
Students must attend Conclave & District Conference (Host District Only)Students must reside in dorms and attend classesHost Families are expected to coordinate holiday activitiesStudents must present at least 2 club programs for each sponsoring club.

Our students are expected to conduct themselves in a higher manner that other students as they are representing GRSP, Rotary and their home country.

Restraints to Funding Scholars
Club Participation: GRSP has limited control. Can encourage Clubs
