PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Godang Tua Jaya and Solena Fuels Corporation, Friday
(1/3), signed a joint development agreement to develop a Waste Power Plant (PLTS) in Bantargebang Integrated Waste Disposal (TPST), Bekasi. "Through this partnership, Pertamina realizes its participation in addressing environmental issues, as well as utilizing environmentally friendly alternative energy sources," Pertamina president director Karen Agustiawan said at the signing of the agreement in Jakarta. Solena Executive Vice President, Yves Bannell, said the PLTS would be one of the solutions to the waste problem in Jakarta as it is environmentally friendly and has no emissions.

PT Pertamina and PT Godang Tua Jaya have agreed to cooperate with Solena Fuels
Corporation as the technology provider partner in Waste Power Station (PLTSA) project in Bantargebang integrated disposal place, Bekasi. The focus of the cooperation is making the details of feasibility study to utilize city waste into a renewable energy in the form of gasification plasma. The energy is believed could create 120 megawatt (MW) of electricity by using 2,000 tons of waste/day. The PLTSA project will need around US$300 million of investment and will start produce electricity starting 2016. Pertamina Director Karen Agustiawan said that through the cooperation, Pertamina as the company that concerned on environment problems could realize its participation as “Friend of The Earth” by utilizing an environment-friendly energy resource optimally.

The PLTSA is planned to be built in Bantargebang Integrated Disposal Place (TPST), Bekasi. Pertamina will cooperate with PT Godang Tua Jaya as the management of Bantargebang TPST and Solena Fuels Corporation as the technology provider in the project. Pertamina Director Karen Agustiawan believes the power station could product electricity up to 120 megawatt (MW) using 2,000 tons of waste/day. The project will be using modern, efficient, and environment-friendly biomass municipal solid waste to power processing technology.

Headline The Biggest in The World, 2,000 Tons of Waste Changed Into Electricity
The biggest waste power station (PLTSA) in the world will be built in Bantar
Gebang, Bekasi that will utilize 2,000 tons of waste/day to be sent to Pertamina and Solena. Rekson Sitorus from PT Godang Tua Jaya as the management of Bantar Gebang Integrated Disposal Place (TPST) said the PLTSA would be the biggest PLTSA with 138 megawatt (MW) of capacity. PT Pertamina Director Karen Agustiawan said at the moment Pertamina was not only an oil and gas company, but also an energy company. PT Pertamina Senior Vice President of Gas and Power explained that the gas emitted from the waste in Bantar Gebang would be using technology from General Electric (GE) utilized by Solena, which would capture more gasses. Salis stated that the technology was an advanced technology called plasma technology.

Salis explained that the company was transforming into a world class national energy company that developed unconventional energy and EBT.

Headline Jokowi Chosen, Bantargebang Waste Adds 700 Tons/Day
The Bantargebang Integrated Disposal Place management PT Godang Tua Jaya said
that after Jokowi chosen as the Governor of Jakarta, the waste entered Bantargebang increased to 6,000 tons/day from previously 5,300 tons/day. This is because the ditches are cleaned; hence waste is disposed to Bantargebang. To address the problem, Godang Tua Jaya becomes the partner of Pertamina in building Waste Power Station (PLTSA). The company will supply 2,000 tons/day to Pertamina for biomass energy. Using simple gasification technology, Godang Tua admitted it could produce 10 megawatt (MW) of electricity. If Pertamina’s technology that utilizes General Electric and Solane Energy is maximized, the waste could produce 138 megawatt (MW) of electricity.

Karen added that 2,000 tons of waste was needed to create the 120 MW of electricity.
