Narrative.

• The video consists of a woman walking through the streets of a less developed area, surrounded by people wearing Halloween costumes. The main character in the music video doesn’t fit in with the locals in the area, surrounded by a very different culture. It looks as though the people form the area were marching through the streets protesting their rights.

Mise en scene.

• The location of the video is set in a less developed, urban lifestyle area. Even though there was various activities occurring during the video, the lighting and edit of the video was quite dull and dark. The main character is clearly not in her comfort zone, various close ups of ‘scary’ Halloween costumes are used, this could have been done in order to show how she feels that she couldn’t get away from what is haunting her, linking to the song title ‘get out my head’.

Camera work & editing.

• Throughout the whole music video various camera shots are used. This involves close-ups, mid-shots, long-shots, over the shoulder shot and others. The video starts off with quick interchanging still shots of different locations and people. The whole video consists of quick moving shots, there’s not a moment which you feel is dragged out. The editing used mainly consists of Red, Grey and Purple effects. A lot of the camera shots that are used are from the POV of the main character in the song. This gives the audience a feel of what she is going through.
