Customized carrier settingsThe new codes go into effect on October 1, 2014, but a select few carriers might not transition on day one. Lytec 2014 allows you to specify whether the carrier is using ICD-9 or ICD-10 and warns you if the wrong code is entered. This helps to both save time and reduce coding errors. It’s also easy to set the new code when you add new carriers. See figure 2.

Mapping toolLytec 2014 features a mapping tool based on CMS’s General Equivalent Mappings (GEM) that can help you translate some ICD-9 codes to ICD-10. Enter an ICD-9 code and Lytec 2014 will provide a mapping to the appropriate ICD-10 code(s), where applicable. This helps you easily compare and translate data during the ICD-10 transition process. See figure 3.

Support for ICD-10 claim forms Beginning in April 2014, all physician practices and billers must use the new CMS 1500 Claim Form (02/12) which accommodates ICD-10 codes. Lytec 2014 supports use of this form, helping ensure accurate claims processing.

Lytec MobileWhen you purchase Lytec 2014, we’ll ship Lytec 2013 immediately and at no additional cost. This release features many billing, scheduling and patient accounting enhancements. You can also take advantage of Lytec Mobile, a no-fee application for the iPad® and iPhone®.
