I owe a debt I can never pay to Jesus Christ whose atoning death made it possible for me to cry Abba Father! To the Holy Spirit, my Senior Partner, I say Thank You, come on now lets shake this world together for the glory of the King of Kings, my Father, The EL-Shaddai, the One who Is More Than Enough!

The inspiration for this message and now a book came from my own life’s challenges. I came to the point in my life where I needed to stop running from but towards my future. In my moments of reflection I found that God’s purpose for our lives is not written on a platter of Gold. Many people say Life is not a bed of roses! I have never agreed with the statement, because, if you know the rose plant well enough, you will know that it has thorns. Your life’s purpose has thorns! Run towards it, not away from it.

Many people in different cultures and climes today want to be successful. I think if you watch the Television, internet and read all the glossy magazines today, the only picture they all frame for us is that of success. I like seeing the hand of God in all things around me, from the environment to the disasters that makes beautiful situations look extremely ugly.

I decided to celebrate my fortieth year on earth with a book, here it is, enjoy it and be blessed.

Foreword

“Give me this mountain” is a practical exposition on the story of Caleb and the hill country of Hebron as the Lord had long since, by Moses, promised to give him the mountain as his inheritance. (That was 45 year earlier at Kadesh Barnea when he brought back good report of the land. Num. 13:20; 14:6-9). Thus, Caleb made his demand to have Hebron given him for a possession.

It unfolds certain aspect of spiritual warfare that we fight to lay hold on our inheritance in Christ, which many people ignore. Know that the more knowledge we acquire in this area the more equipped we will be to fight for our inheritance in life.

This book shows exactly which blessings God has promised us in His word and how to lay hold on them; for He gives assurance that His promises cannot fail. It also shows how we can approach God and explains the conditions for receiving the fullness of His covenant blessings. God’s pledge of faithfulness goes beyond the ways of men. He gives us perfect confidence in Him and the full assurance of all that He, in His infinite riches and power, has promised to do for us. Blessed is the man who truly knows God as the covenant-keeping God; and what an unwavering confidence of expectation it secures. Ps 89:34.

I believe this book is written for you to declare, affirm and embrace every promise God has given to you in His word - for they are your inheritance; and also to know:

Introduction

Don't Run From Your Giants

By Judy Jacobs

Most of us would do anything to avoid life’s trials. But God always brings good out of the hard times we endure.

Know this: There will always be an opposition to your mission. Whenever you step out and begin

to walk in obedience to God, there is going to be some kind of opposition from the devil. As soon as Jesus was baptized by John, He had to face temptation in the wilderness (see Matt. 4:1; Mark 1:12; Luke 4:1).

Your opposition and adversity will take different forms at different times. Today you may be facing a health problem. Last year you may have been in a financial bind. Two years ago perhaps you lost your job.

Later on you might have a lot of trouble with your teenager or conflict in your marriage or a difficult relationship with someone on the job. Sometimes your opposition is discouragement, sleepless nights or the stress of having too much to do.

God never promised that you were going to float along on this journey of life, smelling roses and never having another

Page 12: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 12

problem from the day you were saved. He did promise, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you" (Is. 43:2, NKJV). Get it through your head that trials, tests and all kinds of difficulties are inevitable. God will allow as many of them as you can handle, and He always knows how much you can handle. Your part is to decide now that you are going all the way with Him, regardless of how much it hurts. Usually, by the time you realize what's happening, it's too late to turn back anyway. You can be sure that He will train you and strengthen you every step of the way because He wants you to be able to take every step in 100 percent faith. Always remember that it is the devil who brings the temptations, but God brings the tests. It's all for your benefit. It's all for your growth. The devil brings temptations to drive you away from God, but God will help you resist them, and He will manage to convert those temptations into soul-strengtheners. They become opportunities for your growth. God brings you into tests and trials, and they may seem counterproductive at first. But He's doing it because He loves you, so you can be pruned and shaped as you grow closer to Him. Paul said it like this: "Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us" (2 Cor. 1:9-10). Paul wanted you to know that even though you may feel as if you are facing death right now, if you just keep standing, God will deliver!

Giants in the LandWhen the 12 spies came back to report to Moses about the promised land, the fearful ones reported that there were giants in the land (see Num. 13:32-33). Their report was enough to deter the people from making the effort to take the land that had been promised to them by God. Is your promised land occupied by giants at the moment? Do they have names such as "insecurity," "insignificance," "unemployment," "deficiency," "sickness"? Who could possibly conquer territory that's being held by giants? Are you tempted, like the Israelites, to hold back and stay safe? You should know that if you do that, your giants will only get bigger. They're not going anywhere unless God drives them out with His mighty right hand. As a matter of fact, those giants are supposed to be there. They are letting you know you are about to come into your greatness and into your promised land—if you will stand up and fight. Some of us started out fighting. But then we started looking at the problems. We started looking at the giants. Stop looking at the giants, and start looking at God. He's bigger.

God wants to show you, both by helping you through hardships and by delivering you from them, how powerful and faithful and loving He is. He is the lily of the valleys (see Song. 2:1). But how will you know that He is the lily if you don't have any valleys?

Page 14: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 14

He is the "Bright and Morning Star" (Rev. 22:16). But how will you know He is shining so brightly if you have never encountered any darkness? He is the deliverer. But in order to deliver you, God has to have some kind of tribulation to deliver you from! He is the healer. But how will you know that He is the healer if you don't ever experience His healing touch? Opposition and adversity, even the fiercest kinds, are never completely bad. In fact, God always turns around what seems to be meant for evil into something good (see Rom. 8:28). It's always worth it. You can say that with two black eyes. You can whisper it with bleeding tonsils. You can give thanks from the bottom of a pit. And even if, like John, you have been thrown into hot, boiling oil and then left for dead on some remote island, it is there that you will receive your greatest revelation (see Rev. 1:9).

What are some of the good things that God will bring out of our difficulties? Good training. Hard times provide us with training. In order to become mature, we need to be trained. We need to get past our tendency to whine and complain about how unfair it all is. We need to get on with the business at hand, learning to respond quickly and obediently to whatever God sends into our lives. As Joseph Garlington says, sometimes God will say to us: "OK. This is first grade." If we say back to God, "What if I don't like first grade?" He will say, "Then you get to repeat it." I don't

Page 15: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 15

know about you, but I want to learn my lessons, learn them well and move on. The Israelites may never have learned this lesson, although we can learn from their mistakes: "They said to Moses, 'Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?” (Ex. 14:11). Moses responded to them: "'Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today.' ... The Lord said to Moses, 'Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward'" (Ex. 14:13,15). In other words, the people of Israel had to stop their pointless complaining and obey what God already had told them to do. The Red Sea parted, and they escaped from the Egyptians. When they stopped complaining and followed orders, their dire straits turned into a wonderful deliverance. In their case, this lesson didn't stick with them. Forty years later, they were still whining (see Num. 20). Sad to say, such lessons don't always stick with us either. But maturity-training is still one of the best reasons for having trials. It's as if God has put all of us into His heavenly boot camp. Our latest trials are part of the training process. Isaiah 30:20 encourages us to believe that "though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers."

Good opportunities. For Christians, adversities turn into opportunities. Hardships give us opportunities to walk in our authority in Christ Jesus (and, putting it the other way around, they give us fresh opportunities to see God's authority at work). When the devil tries to bury you in bad stuff, that's when you have the chance to bury him deeper than he could ever bury you. As you lean on God's promises and proclaim His faithfulness, you become an overcomer. The greatest opportunities for victory arise out of the hardest trials. It's enough to make you want to shout His praises for not sparing you! I'm glad God allows me the chance to exercise my authority in Christ. He wants me to participate with Him in ruling in the kingdom. That can't happen if He just lets me keep "sitting pretty," free from trials and tribulations. Obvious grace. Unfair circumstances, unfriendly accusations and ill health provide us with a perfect opportunity to manifest the grace of God. When we are presented with challenging situations, we cannot escape unless we lean hard on His grace. Remember what Paul wrote to the Corinthians? He told them that they had been saved so that the life of Jesus could be manifested in their bodies (see 2 Cor. 4:10). In other words, while they were still here on the earth in their weak bodies, they were supposed to show forth the glory of God—in the midst of and because of their adversities.

Page 17: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 17

Next time that jealous neighbor of yours becomes a mudslinger, watch God work in you and through you as you respond in wisdom and love. The experience may not be much fun, but you can expect God's grace to supply you with the right attitude and the right words.

Next time you can't sleep at night, ask for His patience and perspective. Next time you hurt all over and your boss tells you to work late, receive God's help to persevere—with joy.

The 20th century Scottish minister Oswald Chambers said, "You did not do anything to achieve your salvation, but you must do something to exhibit it. You must 'work out your own salvation,' which God has worked in you already" (Phil. 2:12). The adversities God allows in your life allow you to demonstrate His grace. Good motivation. Without some compelling reason, most of us prefer to sit tight and hope for the best. We don't want to dive into the fray where we might get hurt. But God loves us too much to let us commit the "sin" of satisfaction. He wants us to be involved. To get us off the sidelines, He sends us adversities. It's a rude awakening sometimes. You might be just bobbing along, floating down the river of your little life, when suddenly you hear a roaring noise. Around the bend, there it is. A waterfall! You weren't really praying before, but brother, you are now. You were half-asleep just a minute ago, but sister, you are now wide-awake. You are motivated, and you will stay motivated for a while because you are in the middle of a crisis.

Page 18: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 18

Have you noticed the way Romans 10:17 reads? "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Faith comes by what you have heard (past tense). Faith comes by hearing and hearing and hearing. Everybody needs repeated, frequent—even continual—prodding and urging to step out in faith. That is why it is so important to keep the Word of God in your heart and mind. Listen to worship music; listen to the Word of God being preached by an anointed man or woman of God. If possible, listen on your stereo, in your car, in your office—anything to keep your faith built up—and "pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17). Adversities keep us walking in faith. In 1993, our ministry operated out of a one-room office in downtown Cleveland, Tennessee. We were paying $75 a month for that place, and we had to believe God for even that small amount of rent money. One weekend, we were hit with a heavy rainstorm, and we lost our computer because the ceiling leaked. We had only one computer, and we lost it. After that, we had had enough of small-faith mentality. We became determined to pray for the best God had for us. Before long, God worked a series of miracles, and we found ourselves the owners of the beautiful ministry center on a hillside that we have today. I'm glad the roof leaked in that old office. Sometimes you have to step out on nothing and watch God turn it into something. You have to trust Him to take what the devil meant for bad and turn it into good. You have to stop

running from your giants, stand strong and watch God defeat them.

Chapter 1

Give Me This Mountain!

Numbers 14:7-97 And they spake unto all the company of the children of

Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, [is] an exceeding good land. 8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. 9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they [are] bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD [is] with us: fear them not.

Numbers 14:24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Joshua 14: 6-15 6 Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and

Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea. 7 Forty years old [was] I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as [it was] in mine heart. 8 Nevertheless my brethren that

Page 21: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 21

went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God. 9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God. 10 And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while [the children of] Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I [am] this day fourscore and five years old. 11 As yet I [am as] strong this day as [I was] in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength [was] then, even so [is] my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. 12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims [were] there, and [that] the cities [were] great [and] fenced: if so be the LORD [will be] with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. 13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance. 14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel. 15 And the name of Hebron before [was] Kirjatharba; [which Arba was] a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.

The above quotation recounts one of the most amazing stories of the Bible, of which very few have been written nor acknowledged.

Caleb, the son (or descendant of) Jephuneh was one of the twelve spies sent by Moses, the de-facto leader of a freed Israelite nation from the bondage in Egypt. Caleb and Joshua, who succeeded Moses as leaders, were the authors of the Minority report on their return from spying out the land of Canaan. Let’s back up this story a little.

God called Abraham in Genesis Chapter 12:1-3, but at the same time (a most amazing caveat by God!) told him his descendants will be slaves for 430 years! I have often wondered how many of us would accept such a promise even from the Almighty. He however, promised to deliver the descendants of Abraham from slavery and then take them into a promised land, which he showed Abraham.

Genesis 12:7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

Genesis 12:7 GOD appeared to Abram and said, "I will give this land to your children." Abram built an altar at the place GOD had appeared to him. MSG

Exactly 430 years later, God showed up to fulfil His promises, as He will always do if you trust and believe Him. Moses, led the more than 3 million Israelites out of Egypt after a fiercely contested battle with amazing

Page 23: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 23

miracles of God. However, the new nation needed to settle in their promised land, but not without battle. We must understand that as much as God promises us anything in life, such things won’t come on a platter of gold!

Numbers 33:50-5650 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by

Jordan [near] Jericho, saying, 51 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan; 52 Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places: 53 And ye shall dispossess [the inhabitants] of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it. 54 And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: [and] to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man's [inheritance] shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit. 55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them [shall be] pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. 56 Moreover it shall come to pass, [that] I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.

Deuteronomy 2:24-25 Rise up, take your journey, and pass over the Valley of the Arnon. Behold, I have given into

Page 24: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 24

your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land; begin to possess it and contend with him in battle. 25 This day will I begin to put the dread and fear of you upon the peoples who are under the whole heavens, who shall hear the report of you and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you. NKJV

Moses, as a very strategic leader, thought the way to go about it was to first spy out the new property to gauge the kind of opposition they would face and to prepare his own forces for the takeover of the land God had promised and had apparently given them 450 years earlier. God will not ask you to do anything, unless He had completed it in His mind. He knows the end from the beginning! What a Mighty God we serve.

It fell on twelve leaders of the nation (one from each tribe). Since the land would be divided amongst the tribes, it was important and strategic that the tribes play important role in claiming the new land. It is also important to note that, it was God who asked Moses to send out the spies.

Numbers 13: 1-3 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them. 3 And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the

Page 25: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 25

wilderness of Paran: all those men [were] heads of the children of Israel.

Moses’ instructions were that they should seek to understand the land and then report in details about the inheritance, no detail was to be missed by them.

Numbers 13:17 Moses sent them to scout out the land of Canaan, and said to them, Get up this way by the South (the Negeb) and go up into the hill country, 18 And see what the land is and whether the people who dwell there are strong or weak, few or many, 19 And whether the land they live in is good or bad, and whether the cities they dwell in are camps or strongholds, 20 And what the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is timber on it or not. And be of good courage and bring some of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the first ripe grapes. NKJV

This is a reconnaissance trip of strategic importance. Often visions fail because we lack proper understanding of the details of the vision. When the Bible says God’s people perish for lack of vision Prov 29:18, I presume it also means that such great visions die out because the details are not worked out.

Page 26: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 26

It is instructive to note that Moses was concerned about the type of fruits the land produced, even though God said the land flows with ‘milk and honey’. Moses wanted to know the details of the milk and honey! We all must learn the details of God’s promises to us, it is our key to inheriting our inheritances in life. Moses also wanted to know the topography, culture, strengths and weaknesses of the new land they were to posses. Thus, he asked the spies to conduct sociological, anthropological, strategic research of their future inheritance. How many of us take the time and energy to gather information about something new that we are about to do?

Many vision have died in infancy because, especially in the third world, we do no love information, thus conducting background checks is like a waste of time. Unfortunately, we pay dearly fr this mistake, and remain listed among underdeveloped or developing countries as a consequence. A Nation or people that neglects knowledge will remain perpetually “hewers of wood and drawers of water”!

Beloved, in the world of the 21st century, as surely as our God does not change, so also His principles (the way things must be done) do not change. If you want to possess your inheritance, you must spend time

Page 27: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 27

conducting background research, seeking information. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge is an injunction for all generations. You have no excuse, because the internet has reduced the world to a global village. Get to a good library and search out knowledge about your assignment. I have spent about 10 years doing research on my assignment in life!

The spies went as instructed. The journey was estimated to cover about 250 miles both ways and it took them about 40 days. However, trouble started when they returned and they were requested to make a report to Moses and the waiting nation. Even though they came back with fruits – evidence that the land was as God had predicted it would be, remember also that the journey was at the beginning of the “first ripe grapes’. There were two reports, a majority report by ten of the spies which suggested that the land was simply impossible to take and a minority report from Caleb and Joshua which urges urgent takeover of the promise land. Numbers 13:27 They told Moses, we came to the land to

which you sent us; surely it flows with milk and honey. This is its fruit. 28 But the people who dwell there are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large; moreover, there we saw the sons of Anak [of great stature and courage]. NKJV

Page 28: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 28

Numbers 13:27 Then they told the story of their trip: "We went to the land to which you sent us and, oh! It does flow with milk and honey! Just look at this fruit! 28 The only thing is that the people who live there are fierce, their cities are huge and well fortified. Worse yet, we saw descendants of the giant Anak. MSG

They exaggerated their reports to the extent that the claimed they saw the Nephilim ( a reference to the giants of Genesis 6:4), their report claimed the sons of Anak were the direct descendants of the Nephilim (improbable in the least). They now spoiled their bad report with one of the most disrespectful and demeaning statements of the entire Bible:

Numbers 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, [which come] of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Numbers 13:33 Why, we even saw the Nephilim giants (the Anak giants come from the Nephilim). Alongside them we felt like grasshoppers. And they looked down on us as if we were grasshoppers." MSG

Their characterisation of themselves as grasshoppers in comparison to their adversaries must have brought great trepidation to the minds of the entire Israelite nation. They exaggerated their report so as to evoke

Page 29: Give Me This Mountain-main

fear. Nothing subdues a people as fear, nothing! The impact of this negative report is noticeable in the very next chapter:

Numbers 14:1 AND ALL the congregation cried out with a loud voice, and [they] wept that night. 2 All the Israelites grumbled and deplored their situation, accusing Moses and Aaron, to whom the whole congregation said, Would that we had died in Egypt! Or that we had died in this wilderness!

Adam Clarke’s commentary on this verse (Numbers 14:1) is instructive:

“Cried; and - wept that night - In almost every case this people gave deplorable evidence of the degraded state of their minds. With scarcely any mental firmness, and with almost no religion, they could bear no reverses, and were ever at their wit’s end. They were headstrong, presumptuous, pusillanimous, indecisive, and fickle. And because they were such, therefore the power and wisdom of God appeared the more conspicuously in the whole of their history.” Emphasis mine.

Every believer in Christ is entitled to enjoy of the blessedness of the Kingdom. God has given an inheritance to each of us in life. However, we must respond appropriately, because our response

Page 30: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 30

determines our possession. The Bible warns in Proverbs 20:4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; [therefore] shall he beg in harvest, and [have] nothing.

In come Joshua and Caleb.

Numbers 14:6-96 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh,

[which were] of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: 7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, [is] an exceeding good land.

When men say there is a casting down, the Spirit of God will lift you up. When the door seems closed, God will open a roadway of escape.

As the whole nation became despondent, at their wits end, confused, demoralised, God stirred up the hearts of Joshua and Caleb to rouse the nation from their pit of despair.

Page 31: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 31

God throughout History has always worked this way. He will never leave Himself without a witness to His power. I pray you become God’s witness for your generation, as I hope to be for mine.

Joshua and Caleb were angry (they tore their clothes!) at the peoples doubt of the power of God. They could not believe the same people that had seen the mighty hand of God in recent times (Egypt, Red Sea, Wilderness) could now doubt God. Sometime we are like the people of Israel at this time, we forget easily the miracles and deliverances of God in our lives, we murmur and complain, we look at things as if the same testimonies we had shared in times past had suddenly dried up. Yet the bible says :

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

The Children of Israel not only showed ingratitude to God’s grace, as many people often do, especially when they face challenges, they were not interested in the minority report of the other two spies.

However, Moses, the Leader believed the minority, but the people of Israel refused, so God made them wander in the wilderness for forty years till all those

Page 32: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 32

who doubted Him died. Num 14: 11-2, 18-24, 26-38. Only the houses of Joshua and Caleb were preserved. It is important that we trust God. Doubt can lead to spiritual and physical death. The ten spies died instantly, because they provoked the wrath of God. According to Pastor Benny Hinn, the wrath of God is a revelation of His Holiness, don’t think God is a Holi God that does not get angry. I pray our actions will never bring the wrath of God on us and our children!

It is also instructive to note the exceptions that God made in Numbers 14:24 specifically about Caleb. I believe God had already planned for Joshua as the next leader of the nation of Israel to replace Moses. So a special verse of promise was reserved for Caleb and his seed after him. Even though they had not physically taken possession, God had already gone ahead to reserve a possession for Caleb.

This is spiritually significant, God will never embark on a project that He had not completed already. Jesus Christ was the Lamb of Sacrifice at the foundation of the World. It is therefore impossible for the Devil to have kept Him the in grave. I am too sure God has completed my case on earth, all I need to do is to discover His message to me and get on the road to fulfilling it. Same goes for you as you read this book, I am sure your assignment and inheritance in life is a

Page 33: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 33

fait accompli by God. Why then are you tardy to face the challenges that will give you victory.

Caleb was given an inheritance 45 years before physical possession, just like the Children of Israel when God promised Abraham 430 years earlier. Do you know why you must trust God? It is because, God cannot Lie!

Let’s examine certain truths about God that can make us face our mountains.

Page 34: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 34

Chapter 2

God Cannot Lie!

Hebrews 6:12-20 “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.”

Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Page 35: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 35

You are about to enter into your season of harvest. God is the one that is taking you into that season of harvest. You may think that you can labour; you think that by the wisdom of your life, and the ability of your hands that you can do it. Take a look at this, when God told Abraham that He was going to make him a father of many nations, by his own hands, labour and works of the flesh, Abraham caused something that God did not decree. But when God’s time came, God fulfilled his promise. You have tried it by your own strength and in your own way, but His own time has come, it is termed for you a SEASON OF HARVEST.

God swore by himself because there was none greater for him to swear by, He has indeed committed himself and decreed of Himself that those things which he said concerning you and me, he will bring it to pass. You know when God searched in heaven, there was nobody there that he could swear by. He looked in the earth and saw that there was nobody that could establish anything beyond Him. So He swore an oath by Himself using as basis two immutable things –things that are infinite, that cannot change for all eternity– His word and His Name!

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said,

Page 36: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 36

and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

THE STRENGTH OF ISREAL

1 Samuel 15:29“And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.”

The scripture here describes God as the strength of Israel that cannot lie. If there is a group of people that the world has done everything to wipe off the face of the earth, and totally annihilate, it is Israel, as a nation. In 70 AD, Roman invaders led by Titus came upon Jerusalem and burnt it to ashes. No single block remained on another in that city. The people were scattered upon the face of the earth. There were few remnants and in 135AD, another group of invaders came in and burnt down the whole nation. Many have determined that the nation of Israel will neither stand nor exist. In different nations of the earth, the Jews are there because of these different scattering. Between 1939 and 1945, Adolf Hitler supervised the Holocaust, during which over 6 million Jews perished in gas chambers!

However, on May 15, 1948, it pleased God to begin to establish the state of Israel – in one day! Something that has never happened before. That is what only the Strength of Israel can do. That nation came back

Page 37: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 37

together, and was established, according to the pre-determinate counsel of God in Isa 66:8. The One who established that nation against all odds is THE STRENGTH OF ISRAEL and he wants you to know that as long as Israel is in existence, He will fulfil His WORD concerning you, He will not fail you. You have good assurance to trust in the WORD because ‘THE STRENGTH OF ISRAEL’ will not lie or repent seeing that he is not a man.

Men can make promises and fail to live up to it, but God wants you to look up to him because He desires to take all the glory for your life alone. God cannot share His glory with another. He cannot lie concerning what He has promised you.

Romans 11:29 “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”

God cannot forget those promises He has made concerning you. You don’t have to consider your age when it comes to the promises of God concerning you. It is not wise to use clock and calendar as a yardstick for measuring the fulfilment of God’s promises.

Age is one of the things that do not matter in the counsel of God. Assuming, you are due for marriage

Page 38: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 38

and you think that God has forgotten you…No! God has not forgotten you. Promises have been made and oaths have been sworn concerning you and because of that heaven and earth are both bound and locked together to fulfil those promises. That is what God can do in the life of everyone who believes Him.

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

God is a straight forward person. He does not play pranks. Have you ever seen the sun just dangling in the atmosphere, loosely suspended and swaying to and fro? It is a representation of what God can do. When the sun rises in the morning, until it sets in the evening it remains constant, day in day out. It is the rotation of the earth around the sun that produces the day and night effect. The sun itself remains constant. Now, as constant as that sun is, that is how constant the WORD of God is to us. God cannot lie because to lie is contrary to his nature.

What does it mean to lie? It is to deceive people. Can you imagine God deceiving people? That is not possible by any means.

Page 39: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 39

To lie is to be deceptive, to change, to alter, to remove what one has already said. No matter how many translations of the Bible are made available to us, we are still going to have this same Genesis to Revelations. Nothing can be added to it and nothing can be taken away from it. In fact the Bible itself makes us to understand that anyone that adds to or extracts anything from the Bible, a curse hangs on that person. Rev 22:18-19.

God has decreed His counsel and that is what is going to stand from age to age, until the day you and I see Him in glory.

Numbers 23:19 God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do [it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.

Page 40: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 40

Jeremiah 30:24 The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done [it], and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.

God is not a man who cannot be trusted. God is faithful, if He promised you anything, then he will surely bring it to pass. God is so sure of Himself He swore by Himself to fulfil everything He ever said! God’s word is the ONLY thing on earth and in heaven that cannot fail. The world has seen with increasing certainty that every prophetic word of God concerning the nation of Israel for example has been fulfilled. Jesus said in fact heaven and earth may pass away, but not one dot in the word of God will go unfulfilled!

Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Matthew 5:18 God's Law is more real and lasting than the stars in the sky and the ground at your feet. Long after stars burn out and earth wears out, God's Law will be alive and working.MSG

Luke 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

Page 41: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 41

Luke 4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Mark 15:28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

There is a very interesting story in Isaiah 39. Its very interesting that God Himself sentenced Israel into slavery in Babylon as He did when He called Abraham. As surely as the day will dawn tomorrow, it came to pass.

Isaiah 39:6 Behold, the days come, that all that [is] in thine house, and [that] which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD. Isa 39:7 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

According to Adam Clarke’s Commentary on the Bible “This prediction was fulfilled about one hundred and fifty years after it was spoken: see Dan 1:2, Dan 1:3-7. What a proof of Divine omniscience!”

God is not limited by space, we human might be, but God, no he is everywhere including the future. One of His most interesting names is that He is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, He knows the end even from the beginning.

Page 42: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 42

We are therefore not surprised when Caleb invoked this side of God in reminding Joshua of the promises of Moses 40 years earlier, that Caleb would be given this special mountain. This was because Caleb was aware that God’s promises through His servants remain sacrosanct till whenever it’s fulfilled.

It therefore means that as we seek our mountains, we must know that, if you have a promised inheritance in the Bible, then you can go to sleep, knowing fully well that the One who promised you is not asleep, He watches over His words to perform it.

Job was so sure of God’s words while he was on the bed of affliction, that he said:

Job 23:12 “Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary [food].”

He was ready to wait all his life for the promises of God to come to pass. He was certain that there is hope for a tree, even when it is cut down to sprout again, at the application of water (which represents the word);

Job 14:7-9 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof

Page 43: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 43

will not cease. 8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; 9 [Yet] through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

God’s word is a certainty! David was reflective when he said in Psalm 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! [yea, sweeter] than honey to my mouth! This is what we need to do, when looking for our mountains. Search for it in the scriptures and hold on to it like the sweetness of honey in the mouth.

God is also not frivolous with His words. In fact there is no idle words in His thoughts. The following scriptures are instructive:

Proverbs 8:8 All the words of my mouth [are] in righteousness; [there is] nothing froward or perverse in them.

Isaiah 59:21 As for me, this [is] my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that [is] upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

Ezekiel 12:28 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any

Page 44: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 44

more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

Zechariah 1:6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

God cannot lie, believe Him today, just like Caleb believed and he obtained his own inheritance. However, first things first, where are your mountain of inheritance?

Page 45: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 45

Chapter 3

Locate Your Mountain

Joshua 14:12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims [were] there, and [that] the cities [were] great [and] fenced: if so be the LORD [will be] with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.

Our Personal TestimonyWhen my wife had our first Child in England (Wales), she was told by her Doctors that if she wanted another child, she must conceive within a short period of time or else it would be difficult, because they notice fibroid growths in her tummy. This became our mountain with respect to our marriage. We began to pray and fast after six months without her conceiving. Fibroids became the giants o the land of promise to us that we will have more than one child. After three years, we had a breakthrough by the Anointing of God, fibroid gave way and my wife conceived and now our daughter, Jesutomilade (Jesus is my Crown) is a very beautiful five years old!

Page 46: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 46

Where is Your Mountain?

Caleb did not mince words as many Christians would do. Even though the promise was forty years old, Caleb and his family knew what belonged to them among the inheritances of Israel. You MUST locate your own mountain of inheritance!

All children of God have been given an inheritance. In fact when Jesus was praying in John 17, He made this statement, which indicated that all of humanity are expected to enjoy the inheritance of God through Salvation in Christ Jesus.

John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

God made provisions for everybody on the face of this earth.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:

Page 47: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 47

and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein [there is] life, [I have given] every green herb for meat: and it was so.

It is however left to each individual to make his or her claims on the promises of God. There are thousands of promises in the word of God, how many have you claimed?

Caleb was not going to let his inheritance be taken by other tribes of Israel. Many of us have allowed others to take over as it were the joint heritage of humanity. In fact in social sciences the world is divided into three- developed, developing and underdeveloped, the poor and the rich, the haves and those who do not have. The World Bank recently made a worse clarification; the poor are those who live with under a dollar day!

Your inheritance is located somewhere. God created everything perfect in this world and placed in the world laws which control how the world operates. If you understand these laws then you enjoy the world,

Page 48: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 48

but if you do not care to understand the laws as they operate, then you loose out on your inheritance.

Even our Lord Jesus Christ had to locate his assignment here on earth;

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

1 John 3:8 … For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Paul the Apostle knew his mountain even though he located it late by human timing, but God was right on time:

Ephesians 3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 1Pe 4:6 For this cause was the gospel

Page 49: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 49

preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Every man must locate his wife and vice versa - Ephesians 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Caleb at age 85 located his mountain of inheritance and thereafter claimed it by defeating the giants in the land. We all must make up our minds to locate and claim our inheritances in this life. No one owes you an apology, your success in life is your own making. Every mountain has giants in them that must be dislodged, there is no mountain without giants, but we must realize these giants are often times more imaginary than real.

Consider these patriarchs of the faith:

Satan was the giant Jesus had to conquer Matthew 4: 1-22

Adversaries were the giants Paul had to conquer to enter his open great and effectual doors. 1 Corinthians 16:9

Page 50: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 50

Patience was the giant Abraham had to conquer to get Isaac. Genesis 21:5

Isaac had to conquer the Philistines to become very great. Genesis 26:16-28

Jacob had to wrestle with God to become Israel. Genesis 32:28

His brothers were the giants Joseph had to conquer to become Prime Minister in Egypt. Genesis 37.

Barrenness was the giant Hannah had to conquer to get Samuel. 1 Samuel 1:17-20

Daniel had to conquer jealousy and lions to become Governor General in Babylon. Daniel 6:20-28

Joshua had to conquer Jericho to enter the Promise land. Joshua 5:13- 6:26

David had to conquer the urge for revenge against Saul to become a King. 2 Samuel 5:1-5.

Page 51: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 51

Mary had to conquer the jest of men to become the mother of the Saviour. Luke 1:26-56

Jephtha had to conquer his own siblings and his past to become the Captain. Judges 11 and 12

Bill Gates had to conquer jeers of others to become the richest man on earth.

Mahatma Ghandi had to conquer the fury of the British to become a leadership Icon.

Nelson Mandela had to endure 27 years in prison to rule South Africa.

Liverpool FC overcame a 3.0 deficit at half-time to become Champions of Europe!

We can go on and on about those who through faith obtained their promises and inheritances, some even saw it afar off, but they left legacies that they prevailed, Hebrews 11.

I want to challenge you to know that you too can prevail. If Caleb and his family had listened to the fears of Israelites their inheritance would have remained perpetually under the Anakims, but he

Page 52: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 52

believed in the God who promised and does not lie and today Hebron is a heritage of the descendants of Caleb. What will your generation yet unborn say about you, what legacy do you want to leave behind for them?

Hebrews 11:32-40 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and [of] Barak, and [of] Samson, and [of] Jephthae; [of] David also, and Samuel, and [of] the prophets: 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 36 And others had trial of [cruel] mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and [in] mountains, and [in] dens and caves of the earth. 39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Page 53: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 53

The Bible says a good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children Proverbs 13:22. It is high time you take the challenge of facing your mountain and delivering to your descendants an indestructible heritage. They will be very proud when history is recorded about how you conquered the giants in your land and obtained your inheritance.

Chapter 4

How to Obtain Your Inheritance in Life

In this life I have discovered that the laws of God cannot be tampered with, you will break yourself trying to break them. These are what I have discovered can help you to obtain an imperishable inheritance and a legacy for all times. They are simple principles but we must adhere to them at all cost. These same principles gave the heroes of faith their place in history, why not adopt them and become a hero to your generation.

a. Dare to Believe:

Hebrews 11:1-3 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Faith is absolute trust in God. Faith is the interactive currency between heaven and earth. Just as you travel to many nations of the world and can only

Page 55: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 55

transact business in that nation if you have their national currency in abundance or else you use the US Dollars which you still have to change to the local currency, otherwise you cannot transact any business. In the same way, to communicate with heaven on getting information about your inheritance, you need faith, total trust in the Word of God.

The Bible is God’s communications to the earth about His plans for us and it contains all our inheritances and how to obtain it. God Himself makes faith our key to obtaining this inheritance.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Jesus did all His miracles through the instrumentation of Faith:

Luke 5:20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

Luke 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Page 56: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 56

Luke 7:50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

Luke 8:25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

Luke 8:48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

Luke 12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more [will he clothe] you, O ye of little faith?

Luke 17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

Luke 17:19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Luke 18:42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.

Jesus however asked this pointed question before Hs departure:

Page 57: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 57

Luke 18:8b …Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Why was this question necessary? He was sure many would abandon faith for their own ways, even though the Bible clearly states that the just shall live by faith.

Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if [any man] draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Therefore let us all begin to live by faith-with a daily absolute trust in God. Caleb trusted in the Word of God for 45 years and his inheritance came to pass, how long have you been waiting for your own inheritance to come? Dare to believe the Word of God today and you will never regret doing so.

b. Refuse to fear

2Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Page 58: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 58

Fear has crippled many destinies. It was fear that made the children of Israel to doubt and reject the report of Joshua and Caleb whilst accepting the report of the ten spies.

There were two reports, a majority report by ten of the spies which suggested that the land was simply impossible to take and a minority report which recommended immediate take over of the land. Unfortunately the people, even though they agreed to the fruitfulness of the land, chose to believe the majority report because they became afraid of the purported giants in the promise land.

Numbers 13:27 They told Moses, we came to the land to which you sent us; surely it flows with milk and honey. This is its fruit. 28 But the people who dwell there are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large; moreover, there we saw the sons of Anak [of great stature and courage].

MSG

They exaggerated their reports to the extent that they claimed they saw the Nephilim (a reference to

Page 59: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 59

the giants of Gen 6:4), their report claimed the sons of Anak were the direct descendants of the Nephilim (improbable in the least). They now spoiled their bad report with one of the most disrespectful and demeaning statements of the entire Bible:

Numbers 13:33 There we saw the Nephilim [or giants], the sons of Anak, who come from the giants; and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

They exaggerated their report so as to evoke fear.

Page 60: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 60

Numbers 14:1 After the Israelites heard the report from the twelve men who had explored Canaan, the people cried all night 2 and complained to Moses and Aaron, "We wish we had died in Egypt or somewhere out here in the desert! 3 Is the LORD leading us into Canaan, just to have us killed and our women and children captured? We'd be better off in Egypt." CEV

What a thankless generation! After the many miracles of God in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet these people still saw themselves as grasshoppers! The best picture of your life is that which you describe yourself to be. Whilst many African-Americans see themselves as victims of history, a young man whose father was from African descent saw the potentials of transforming the world through the Presidency of the United States, of course, he is today the President and not a victim or the negative stereotypes others see in America.

If you don’t conquer fear, it makes your mountain looks much more impossible than it actually is. Imagine the whole army of Israel in front of Goliath for 40days! See 1 Samuel 17. I love the commentary of Matthew Henry on this episode and would quote it here, with emphasis mine:

Page 61: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 61

1 Samuel 17:31-39 “A shepherd lad, come the same morning from keeping sheep,

had more courage than all the mighty men of Israel. Thus God often sends good words to his Israel, and does great things for them, by the weak and foolish things of the world. As he had answered his brother's passion with meekness, so David answered Saul's fear with faith. When David kept sheep, he proved himself very careful and tender of his flock. This reminds us of Christ, the good Shepherd, who not only ventured, but laid down his life for the sheep. Our experience ought to encourage us to trust in God, and be bold in the way of duty. He that has delivered, does and will continue to do so. David gained leave to fight the Philistine. Not being used to such armour as Saul put upon him, he was not satisfied to go in that manner; this was from the Lord, that it might more plainly appear he fought and conquered in faith, and that the victory was from Him who works by the feeblest and most despised means and instruments. It is not to be inquired how excellent any thing is, but how proper. Let Saul's coat be ever so rich, and his armour ever so strong, what is David the better if they fit him not? But faith, prayer, truth, and righteousness; the whole armour of God, and the mind that was in Christ; are equally needful for all the servants of the Lord, whatever may be their work.”

Fear makes us live in defeat, poor, destitute and unable to rise beyond the situation of a temporary circumstance. Caleb should have retired as a Soldier, but at 85 listen to this fearless soldier:

Page 62: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 62

Joshua 14:10-12 Joshua, it was forty-five years ago that the LORD told Moses to make that promise, and now I am eighty-five. Even though Israel has moved from place to place in the desert, the LORD has kept me alive all this time as he said he would. 11 I'm just as strong today as I was then, and I can still fight as well in battle. 12 So I'm asking you for the hill country that the LORD promised me that day. You were there. You heard the other spies talk about that part of the hill country and the large, walled towns where the Anakim live. But maybe the LORD will help me take their land, just as he promised. CEV

This is the mindset of someone who wants to take territories and conquer his mountains. Yet you have many young people all over the world afraid of taking steps that will take them into destiny. We must destroy fear because God has not given us such a dangerous spirit-.

Here is Joshua’s very rewarding reply and the consequence:

Joshua 14:13-15 Joshua prayed that God would help Caleb, then he gave Hebron to Caleb and his descendants. 14 And Hebron still belongs to Caleb's descendants, because he was faithful to the LORD God of Israel. 15 Hebron used to be called Arba's Town, because Arba had been one of the greatest of the Anakim. There was peace in the land.

Page 63: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 63

Fear is simply False Evidence Appearing Real, its another name for Satan – resist him and he will flee from your life! James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

c. Destroy Evil Foundations and break Satanic Covenants:

Job 4:19 How much less [in] them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation [is] in the dust, [which] are crushed before the moth?

Job 22:16 Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:

Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Job 3:1 After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day. 2 And Job spake, and said, 3 Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night [in which] it was said, There is a man child conceived. 4 Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it. 5 Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it. 6 As [for] that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months. 7 Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.

Page 64: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 64

Foundations are important in life. Even God laid foundations for this earth. Christ was crucified at the Foundation of the World. To secure and obtain your inheritance in life you have to make sure your foundation is secured. You have to break demonic covenants at the foundations of your life.

Job in Chapter three gives a picture of what the foundation (the night he was conceived) looked like. We therefore can see that his foundation was corrupted even before birth, that was why he went through hell, but thank God he corrected his foundation by trusting in the God who can change situations.

Job 14:7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. 8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; 9 [Yet] through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant… 14 If a man die, shall he live [again]? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

God specializes in giving hope to those who look up to Him. What has been the foundation of your life? Have you visited all manners of religious cults to get help? Have you strayed away from the path of

Page 65: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 65

righteousness and holiness-these things pollute your foundations and cannot allow you to claim your inheritance. But, by the scent of the water of the Holy Spirit, I pray for you that every false foundation will be transformed into a firm foundation built on the Chief Cornerstone of our Hope, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, amen. Whatever, the enemy has used in your foundation against your life and destiny, I destroy them by the anointing in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!

d. Receive Prophetic Push

Saul was looking for an Ass, but God intervened and gave him a Kingdom by the mouth of a Prophet (1 Samuel 9)!

Jehoshaphat and his company lost their way in the wilderness and they were about to die of thirst, but by a Prophet, mysteriously water filled their valley –

2Kings 3:17 For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.

Hannah had been to Shiloh many times, but until the Prophet spoke her destiny did not conceive of a Child

Page 66: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 66

1 Sam 1:17. Listen to me, in this life there are certain things we cannot obtain without Prophetic helping hand or push. Find a Prophet of God and align yourself to him, submit under his guidance and authority and your prosperity in life is guaranteed.

2Chronicles 20:20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Hosea 12:10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets…13 And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

1Samuel 9:6 And he said unto him, Behold now, [there is] in this city a man of God, and [he is] an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.

As a Prophet of God, I pray for you today that you inheritances shall never be taken away from you anymore. From this day henceforth enter and posses you inheritances in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Wherever your inheritance is located, by the

Page 67: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 67

Prophetic hand of God, I command you to locate it, dispossess the giants and posses your inheritance in Jesus name.

e. Walk by Faith

You not only need to believe God, you need to demonstrate your believe in Him by you daily actions.

Circumstances around you may suggest hopelessness but if you can continue to confess your hope in Christ, your situation will change for good and you can claim your inheritance. Caleb was beside Joshua all of 40 years, I am sure everyday he confessed possessing his inheritance in Hebron. God told Abraham he will become a father of many nations, he waited for 25years for the manifestation of 1 child, but four hundred years later 3 million children entered the promise land and today Billions line up as Children of Abraham. He walked in faith and it was counted for him as righteousness. They hoped against hope not looking at their physical appearances and not listening to the communications from their decaying bodies.

You must learn to walk by faith on a daily basis and confess what you want. Caleb did not just wake up one day to claim his inheritance; he confessed it right

Page 68: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 68

from the day the servant of God Moses made the pronouncement, forty years earlier. Whao, what a walk of faith!

In face of the worst challenges to your life you must walk by faith, believing, confessing, announcing to whoever cares to listen that, like Job … all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Job 14:14. Take practical steps to posses your mountains. Caleb said … if the Lord will be with me, I shall drive them out just as the Lord said. That was exactly what happened, he drove them out and there was peace.

Can you imagine if he had never moved an inch when Joshua handed over the land to him? The giants would have multiplied and became too strong for him. Many of us should be far from where we are, but because of inaction, our giants have become co-owners of our inheritance, in some cases they have even become landlord and you their tenants.

The African continent is so rich in diversity, minerals and agricultural products, yet it is the poorest part of the world! Princes are walking on foot and servants ride on horses! No! Take action and God will be with you to give you your inheritance!

Page 69: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 69

Your change has come in Jesus name!

f. Vision: As far as You Can See

Do you see giants in your inheritance or do you see targets that you cannot miss when you aim your weapons of warfare against them. David told Saul and the army of Israel:

1 Samuel 17:32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. 33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou [art but] a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. 34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: 35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered [it] out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught [him] by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. 36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. 37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

Whilst the others could only see Goliath as a giant, David saw him as an uncircumcised Philistine (enemy

Page 70: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 70

of God). The devil is the enemy of God therefore all his agents are enemies of God, any obstacle on you way to your inheritance is therefore an enemy of God which must be dealt with. Of course David cut off the head of the giant that have kept the King and his mighty but fearful army at bay for 40 days! Remember, David did not have a sword! But when he was ready to cut off the head of Goliat, a sowrd surfaced, the sowrd of Golaiat was used to severe his head. Many people cannot face their ginats in life, because they are thinking of what they do not have, go out with what you have, when you need what you don’t have, it will surface. That is the way of God!

We need to lift up our eyes and see clearly. God told Abraham to lift up his eyes and look-as far as your eyes can see, so will God give to you. I see a glorious ministry impacting hundreds of millions all over the world in the next few years. I am not afraid, I see the pictures in my mind everyday and will never allow the circumstances of life as at today to limit my vision!

God Himself encourages us to see visions of a glorious future. Habakkuk 2:1-3

Habakkuk 2:1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2

Page 71: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 71

And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Habakkuk 2:1 While standing guard on the watchtower, I waited for the LORD's answer, before explaining the reason for my complaint. 2 Then the LORD told me: "I will give you my message in the form of a vision. Write it clearly enough to be read at a glance. 3 At the time I have decided, my words will come true. You can trust what I say about the future. It may take a long time, but keep on waiting-- it will happen! CEV

God’s vision for your life will surely come to pass, if you see it clearly and write it down. God showed Isaiah His glory because Isaiah was waiting in His presence. If you want God’s vision for your life to be fulfilled, then wait on Him to reveal it to you. God will only move on what He shows you and nothing else. Caleb could see beyond the lousy giants in his inheritance. He saw Hebron as his generational blessing and was not going to allow no giants to take that away from him. Get down to God today, wait on Him and He will show you visions of the future.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as

Page 72: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 72

eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

g. Vows and Sacrificial Offerings break delay

In Genesis 22 God asked Abraham to make a sacrificial offering of his precious son, to test his heart, if there was anything he could withhold from God. He passed God’s test and God made this astounding statement:

Genesis 22:15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only [son]: 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which [is] upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

This was the first time God will swear by Himself to show that His promises will come to pass. You have God’s assurance that you can lay hold on hope

Hebrews 6:16-20 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation [is] to them an end of all strife. 17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel,

Page 73: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 73

confirmed [it] by an oath: 18 That by two immutable things, in which [it was] impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: 19 Which [hope] we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; 20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, [even] Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Vows and sacrificial offerings are ways of cornering God if I can say that. Solomon, and Hannah applied it to an unbelievable effect. 2Chronicles 1:6-12 And Solomon went up thither to the brasen

altar before the LORD, which [was] at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it. 7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. 8 And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead. 9 Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, [that is so] great? 11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over

Page 74: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 74

whom I have made thee king: 12 Wisdom and knowledge [is] granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that [have been] before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

When there is a delay in our lives, we need to bring God forward through vows and sacrificial offerings (offer that rings!) God does not live in time, but we can make Him work within time. In Matthew 8:5-13 the Centurion’s offerings to the Jewish Synagogue made him a candidate for God’s blessings through Jesus Christ. In Acts 10:1-31 Cornelius was visited by Grace because of his sacrifices to God and alms giving-remember he that gives to the poor lends to the Lord (Proverbs 19:17) and God owes no man!

h. Destroying Strongholds

Every Child of God must have a warfare mentality according to Ephesians 6:10-18 and Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. You must take your mountains by force because the occupying giants have no interest in giving up your inheritance free of fighting. That is why they are called giants in the first place to scare you off your inheritance. They build strongholds around themselves to further make the situation look

Page 75: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 75

impenetrable and impregnable. Like Jericho, they may look impenetrable, but a shout of warfare will bring down all strongholds.

The greatest stronghold of every man is the mind. The battles of life are fought and won in the mind. If you cannot win in the mind, you cannot win real life. I love this scripture Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:.

Most of us do not have the mind of Christ. In recent times I have come to encounter different people as I make a personal transition. Most people only profess Christ, they have nothing inside them that shows that they truly belong to Christ. Their bellies are their god! Philippians 3:19 Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is their] belly, and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things.

The proof of love is in giving, but when you give grudgingly, with another thought in your hearts, you have not given.

Paul, the Apostle gave this advise in

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your

Page 76: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 76

mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

You must win the battle of the mind-it’s the battlefield of life. Every stronghold of your mind that is limiting the revelation of your true worth, I destroy in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

i. Position Yourself

It is interesting to note that right from the day Moses chose Caleb and Joshua they remained in that assignment till the ripe age of 85 when Caleb claimed his own inheritance.

To claim your inheritance you must position yourself. God will always create opportunities for us to develop and become what He wanted us to be. We must recognize these opportunities and position ourselves. Is 40:31 said they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength- that is positioning. Isaiah saw God’s glory fill the temple because he was properly positioned. In the various activities of our daily lives, we must seek Gods direction. God is speaking everyday, but have you heard Him recently? Are you positioned to hear the next instructions of your life?

Page 77: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 77

Peter became the leader of the Apostles not because he was the brightest or the strongest, far from it, he was properly positioned. When Jesus wanted to know human understanding of who He was, it was Peter that made the bold statement that “…Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”, Jesus clarified something very important here, He said “Flesh and blood hath not revealed this to you but my Father in heaven”.

Matthew 16:17-19 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Now the question is there were 12 Disciples, how come Peter caught the revelation of the deity of Christ? That is positioning. Get properly positioned today and you will lead your generation.

You can position yourself by Aligning with the right people to Mentor you. Studying to show yourself approved

Page 78: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 78

Serve God-voluntarily in any way you can. Giving Sacrificially Doing whatever you hand finds to do.

j. You Need Patience

Hebrews 6:12 “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

Patience is something that you need in other to be able to wait for the promises of God. You just have to build up within you the patience to wait for him.

Being patient is the ability to stand, until what God has promised you, comes into your hands. Patience is that unique ability to wait for a long time without getting anxious and angry. Somebody who comes into the presence of God wondering why he ought to be thanking God, since he has not seen a manifestation of what God promised him is only demonstrating that he is impatient. Until the package God promised you are delivered into your hands, you must wait for him.

Caleb waited for 45 years to see his inheritance delivered and thereafter there was peace in the land. If he had not been patient, he probably would have spent his old age fighting numerous wars. When God’s time came to posses his possessions, he easily

Page 79: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 79

defeated all the giants no matter who their progenitors were.

k. Pray your way through

Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

You know I was asking God what it means to mount up with wings as an eagle. He said to me, it means to pray until you see the deliverance of my promises. I pressed on with my enquiry. “LORD, to pray? What exactly do you mean by that?” He said “When you look at an eagle mounting up, they keep pressing on to different heights, they soar. They don’t just reach a particular level and choose to remain there; instead they keep pressing on until they have attained the highest height possible.” He went on to explain that in the place of prayer, as a believer you ought to keep mounting up until you gets to the highest peak. When you have arrived at that peak, you enter into rest. At that point, strength begins to enter into you; that is what it means to pray through. I believe that you know that when you pray you should not just be paying lip service to prayer, but you are expected to pray through until what you are trusting God for is

Page 80: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 80

delivered. Then you begin to wait patiently and expectantly. When eagles mount up to that height, at the top of the mountain, they begin to use their old worn out beaks on the rock until that old beak is removed and a new one replaces it. The eagle then waits until that new beak becomes very strong before they fly out.

God further explained to me that I need to lay hold on Him in the place of prayer and get the different keys to open the different doors that I will encounter in life. Until you get it, don’t leave the place of prayer.

Prayer can be that period that you are waiting on him. As you are waiting on Him, God expects you to get different insights of what you need to do in life. Until you locate it and get it into your hands, you don’t leave that sweet place of prayer. “A promise is not delivered until it is received”. When God sends a promise to you, it will remain a promise until you receive it and that can only occur in a place of deep communion with God.

As you press on to God in the place of prayer, you have to definitely know that THE STRENGTH OF ISRAEL who cannot lie will never fail you. He is a promise keeper that you can definitely depend upon.

Page 81: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 81

l. Take Your Life in Your Hands

There are some very interesting scriptures I want to explore in this section. No Matter what happens in life, resolve what to do and take your life in your hands!

Luke 16:3-4 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. 4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

Judges 11:1 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he [was] the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah. 2 And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou [art] the son of a strange woman. 3 Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him. 4 And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel. 5 And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob: 6 And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon. 7 And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father's house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are

Page 82: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 82

in distress? 8 And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead. 9 And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head? 10 And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The LORD be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words. 11 Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the LORD in Mizpeh.

Judges 12:2 And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands. 3 And when I saw that ye delivered [me] not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me? (Emphasis mine)

Jephtha’s life story is recorded above in Judges 11 and 12, and what a very glorious story it is! If you want to possess your inheritance in life you must realize certain facts. First, is that no one on earth owes you ANYTHING! We are all pilgrims on earth. In fact the Scriptures says we must fight for our salvation with fear and trembling.

Page 83: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 83

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Jephtha’s life story is similar to that of many people all over the world, I am sure some of us reading this book can identify with this story. Son of a harlot, thrown out of his father’s house and living with a band of vain men. Yet this man that life seems to have rejected took his destiny in his hands and in the process of time with the help of the mighty God became the captain or leader of the same nation that rejected him. What a story!

Caleb and Joshua had a minority report against the overwhelming report of the other 10 spies, the nation rejected the minority report for the majority report and thereafter spent forty years in the wilderness! But in the process of time, the minority report became the true history of Israel.

Do you have similar circumstances in your life where people have cast you out as a never do well? Do you have vain men or as another translation puts it worthless men around you? The key is to take your life in your hands and take life heads on, listen to me,

Page 84: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 84

in the process of time you will win and become the captain!

Jephtha and the servant in Luke 16:3-4 took their lives in their hands. They resolved that irrespective of their current circumstance in life, they were resolved not to beg, not to steal, not to dig. What have you resolved to do with your current situation? You cannot afford to fold your hands and wait for kingdom come, you must do something with the opportunities you have today. Resolve today and you will not beg tomorrow. In the process of time, God will make all things beautiful for you. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Halleluyah!

Chapter 5

Walking in the Power of Dominion

The world is expecting something from you, earnestly waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. When the world is looking to you to manifest as a son of God, may you not be found wanting.

When Joseph was looked upon to interpret dreams, he was not caught napping. When Daniel was looked upon at a time when the whole nation was in confusion, he delivered on demand. When the world calls you, answer must come from you!

Judges 5:13 “Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.”

When the world makes a demand on you, there is something in you that must respond to the world. May the power of God rest upon you, in such a way that you will have dominion over the nobles and the mighty in the land, in Jesus name! Take a look at that same scripture in the New King James Version of the Bible.

Page 86: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 86

Judges 5:13 "Then the survivors came down, the people against the nobles; The LORD came down for me against the mighty”. (NKJV)

The LORD will come down for you against the mighty.

When God created man, let’s look at what he said:

Genesis 1:26-28 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”.

You and I were created to have dominion. God wants us to occupy a position where we dominate our environment. Now man has gone to the moon, man has conquered virtually everything inside the sea. There is no animal that is in the sea now that man does not have a means of controlling, through different inventions. Man has been made to operate under the simple command of dominating and you

Page 87: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 87

need to recognize this and operate in the dominion that God has commanded. You will discover that life takes a different meaning when you begin to operate in those things that God has said concerning you.

God blessed man and commanded him to have dominion. It is an instruction from God. He has created a position called DOMINION for you and I to occupy. But many believers either don’t understand this or have not fully come to the knowledge of it.

Joseph is somebody who had recognition of this command to have dominion. In Genesis 37, we understand that he had a dream, he saw twelve sheaves, his own was in the middle and the other eleven bowed down to his sheaf. He felt elated and he decided to share that story with his brethren; he did not mention anybody’s name. Look at what his brethren said to him,

Genesis 37:8 “And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.”

When you begin to occupy, and begin to operate in the level where you are supposed to occupy, it does not matter what the world does, the world can envy

Page 88: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 88

you, hate you, disapprove of you, but the point is that no matter what they do, they will eventually submit to whatever you do as a person operating in the power of dominion. Assuming, you are the managing director of a conglomerate, do you know that whether you are in the office sitting on your seat or not, you are still the Executive Director? Whoever comes into that office must submit to that position that you occupy, whether you are physically present there or not. So if you recognize your position as somebody who is supposed to walk in dominion, situations and circumstances will recognize that you are different.

Jesus operated in a realm of dominion and the Bible records concerning Him, “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” (Colossians 2:15)

It was easy for him to make an open show of the enemy. Remember when He sent the seventy out, when they returned to Him with testimonies, here was His reply, “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” (Luke 10:18)

Well, how could He see Satan fall as lightening? It is because he was already in a position that is far above, principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this

Page 89: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 89

world and spiritual wickedness in high places. When you occupy the position that is meant for you in the spirit realm, the enemies around will submit themselves unto you.

To have dominion means to overcome, to control, to subdue, to subjugate. Most of the nations that are currently free, had to remove the dominion of some other people over them: - they had to fight for their independence. That is because when something is under dominion, it means that it is not independent, it is under the subjugation of somebody else.

You are not supposed to be in a position where somebody is ruling or controlling you. You are supposed to be the one in charge. You are going to be in charge in the mighty name of Jesus.

To be in dominion means to lead. You are to be the head and not the tail according to the promises of God, not for some time but as a life style. Afflictions may come, but the bible says “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” (1 Peter 5:10) Any suffering that is above a while is not for any child of God. You are meant to be above always. That is the standard that God has set for you in the spirit

Page 90: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 90

realm. Whenever you find yourself under the oppression of situations and circumstances, you need to lift up your head and ask your self - what exactly is happening?

To have dominion is to be the head, to be supreme, you are the commander in chief when you are walking in dominion, irrespective of what the situations and the circumstances around you are, you are the one supreme ruler. When you become the commander-in-chief that you are intentionally designed by God to be, everything else takes instruction from you. When you are in charge, even the devil knows who is in charge. Witches are supposed to send intelligence network to find out which route you are using to travel so that they can clear off the road for you to pass, and they will not hold any meeting that particular day, because a commander-in-chief is passing by. Situations and circumstances are supposed to take instructions from you and me. They will however only do that if you operate in the level where God has created for you.

It has nothing to do with your gender. In Judges Chapter 5 is a song by Deborah the prophetess. The children of Israel were in bondage, no one could rise to the occasion until Deborah came, a lady walking in dominion showed up on the scene. We were all

Page 91: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 91

created to walk in such level of dominion. The head of the army had run away, every one who was supposed to have done something one way or the other was in hiding. Yet the nation was under subjugation until one lady who knew who she was in God, decided to rise and take the position that was due to her. Because of what she did, the Bible records the following:

Judges 5:13 “Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.”

Take the step to occupy that position that belongs to you in the spirit realm. God has a special grace and that is the grace of dominion that will make the nobles of the land to begin to recognize you. When the army captain saw Deborah, walking in the power of dominion, - she was a prophetess, she had not gone to military school before; but they made her mother in Israel, and decided to submit to her. She became a judge in the land and the army General would come to her to get instructions about what to do. Israel as a nation then was under somebody’s dominion. Deborah decided to single-handedly operate at the level that she knew to be her original designation. Now, that is operating in the dominion that God had called her to. So when God created you,

Page 92: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 92

He put a mark after your name and added to your name- dominion. In the realm of the spirit, what does the devil see after the comma of your name on your complimentary card, it is boldly inscribed: DOMINION. That is because dominion is the original mandate of God.

Psalms 72:8 “He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.”

Psalms 114:2 “Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.”

God himself operates in dominion. “To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 5:11). God’s dominion does not have anytime that it goes down. It is forever and ever, extends from one nation to the other, from coast to coast and from sea to sea. That is what was imputed into you in Genesis 1:26. Your dominion is supposed to be forever as long as you are on this earth, you are supposed to walk in dominion. “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1:6)

When you were created, God made you a king and a priest forever. For that reason when we return with

Page 93: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 93

Jesus at his second coming, we are coming to rule with him. That will be a company of kings and priest.

That was the original way God created you and me, crafted for dominion. Some people however, recognize this thing and still don’t operate it. Until you operate and activate what God has created you to do, you cannot enjoy the benefit of that rule. That was why when Jesus recognized that dominion will come for him over principalities and powers, he agreed to go through the agony of the cross, and came out on the other side, the Bible says and God has highly exalted him and given him a name that is above every other name, that at the mention of this name every knee would bow, whether in heaven, or on earth or under the earth Philippians 2:9-10.

That is exactly the picture that is supposed to operate with you too. When you pass through the cross, you receive Jesus as your personal LORD and saviour, the same thing happens to you. You are elevated above these things. And at the mention of that name, the name that was the first among the dead, you also enter into the same level of enjoyment. We then become joint heirs with Jesus. We however need to come into recognition of who we are. Dominion is not for a few people, it is the birthright of each and every believer.

Page 94: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 94

How can you enjoy Dominion? First we have to recognize it. How do you recognize it? You have to know why you need it because if you do not understand the purpose of a thing, abuse is inevitable.

Psalms 110:1-4 “The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.”

Secondly, you must go out for it. To get Dominion you must go after it, you cannot sit down at home and claim it. You have to pay the price. Everything level in life has a price attached to it. Pay it and you will secure it. Thirdly, you must demand it. Nobody will give you dominion until you lay claims to it. When you have paid the price for a product you collect it for your use. In Psalms 24, Jesus had to demand for the keys of death sand hell from Satan who cheated Adam to collect it in the first instance. When He demanded, hell resisted but the Blood and the paid price prevailed.

Page 95: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 95

Here are some of the reasons you need to walk in dominion:

The first reason why you need to walk in dominion is because you have enemies. Don’t ever live in a fool’s paradise thinking that you don’t have any. God was in the scripture quoted above to Jesus, and because David was the friend of God, he listened in on the discussion. “Sit at my right hand till I make your enemies your footstool”. Since the King of glory had enemies how much more you?

You have to recognize that there are enemies outside the door. Revelations 12:10 tells us that we have an accuser of the brethren who accuses us before God day and night. Let me give you a picture of what happened here, the angel reporting here was just giving us a picture of what was happening in heaven. When the blood of Jesus was presented to God, salvation and strength, and the kingdom of our God and the power of His Christ came. So there was rejoicing in heaven because Jesus our advocate intercedes on our behalf against the accuser of the brethren who accuses the brethren day and night.

The second reason why you need to walk in dominion is because our enemy must be subdued. He is an

Page 96: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 96

enemy that accuses us continually day and night. The church has to be very vigilant and intercessors are encouraged to pray continually all around the clock because things are happening in the realm of the spirit that you and I do not completely comprehend. In Luke 10:19, Jesus told us that he has given us power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and upon all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt us. Now, that is the power of dominion. Jesus has already won the victory for us but you have to activate that victory. You have to put it into operation. Until you do that, you may not enjoy the victory that has been won for you.

The third reason why we need to walk in dominion is for us to be able to manifest our blessings. Remember that the creature earnestly waits for the manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:19). The world is waiting for you to become what you were created to be. The only way you can be what you were created to be is for you to walk in dominion. Remember that in John 10:10 Jesus had come to give us life and that life more abundantly, to enjoy to the fullest until it overflows into the life of others. You however have to be walking in dominion to enjoy this, if you don’t, there is an enemy waiting to steal kill and destroy. John 10:10.

Page 97: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 97

Another reason why you have to be walking in dominion is because the enemy intends to destroy and you can’t afford to let him. So you have to do what is called a pre-emptive strike. When power is in the hand of somebody that has no control they can use it to destroy other peoples or anything. Imagine Iranian President declaring that he will wipe Israel from the world map, to now allow such a man to have Nuclear weapons is to fuel his madness! Israel must carry out a pre-emptive strike to destroy his nuclear plants.

Psalms 19:13 “Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.”

As much as God wants you to walk in dominion, the enemy wants to use sin to dominate you. That is why the Psalmist was here crying out to God to keep him from presumptuous sins. Presumptuous sins are sins that challenge God, that wants to test who God is, those things that one does to try to belittle God. You want to pray that God should keep you away from such things because such things can put you under in a very short while. The LORD will give you dominion over such sins in the mighty name of Jesus.

Page 98: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 98

HOW CAN WE GET DOMINION?

First you have to be born again. This is the key that takes you into the room where the garment of dominion can be given to you. Nicodemus was sincere in John 3, when he asked Jesus how somebody can be born again when he is already old. Jesus had to tell him that except a man be born of the spirit and of water, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God, in other words he cannot enter into that room where the garment of dominion has already been sown for him. Then you have to receive the power of the Holy Spirit first then you can become whatever you want to become thereafter.

Secondly, you need to get the WORD of God for now. God is speaking everyday and in every generation He has a particular assignment and instructions to be carried out. God did not abandon the world after creation. In fact, if you recollect the story of the fall of man, God came in the evenings to fellowship with Adam. God stopped that physical visitation but continues to visit His children Spiritually, through His words, His servants and sometimes by Himself or Angelic visitations. It is therefore important for you to hear what God is saying for now. What is the move of the Spirit for this generation, what is God’s agenda for today? That is the word for now, secure your

Page 99: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 99

instructions from Him and the world will yield to your instructions.

The third is through the power of prayer. When you pray the way you ought to pray, a different grace comes upon you, the grace that brings dominion such as came upon Deborah. When you enter into the realm of dominion, you don’t operate at the level of a few anymore. Things in their multiples begin to come your way. No longer in trickles, they begin to come in torrents.

THE INSTRUMENTS OF DOMINION

I. The Name of JesusPhilippians 2:9-10 “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;”

II. The Blood of JesusRevelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

III. TestimoniesRevelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

Page 100: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 100

IV. The Anointing oil James 5:14-15 “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

V. The Mantle Acts 19:12 “So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.”

VI. The Holy Communion John 6:53-58 “Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.”

VII. Impartation1 Timothy 4:14 “Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

Page 101: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 101

2 Timothy 1:6. Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”

VIII. Contact with the anointed:Mark 14:3-9 “And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head. And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.”

IX. Anointed books: There is nothing you are going through in life that somebody else has not gone through before. God has helped us some of them have been recorded in books.

AREAS THAT WE NEED TO WALK IN DOMINION

Page 102: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 102

God wants us to walk in dominion in every area of our life. Those areas include but are not limited to the following:

A. Finances. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” (2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV) Psalm 112:2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.3 Wealth and riches [shall be] in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. 4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: [he is] gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous

B. Marriage: Genesis 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

C. Ministry: “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good

Page 103: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 103

soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” (2 Timothy 2:1-4)

D. In life “And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.” (Judges 5:15)

E. In Healthy Living 3John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

What made Deborah to walk in dominion? She turned her heart into that grace. And God empowered her heart. So much so that Barak the commander of the army, submitted to her. So the key to you walking in dominion is your heart. You must tune your heart into the room of dominion. Deborah did this and God empowered her and made her a woman to have dominion over mighty men. She simply tuned her heart even by exciting others to do it, immediately she made up her mind to do something about the deplorable state of her nation, grace came upon that heart and generals submitted

Page 104: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 104

themselves to her. She did what she had to do with all her heart.

Pray for yourself and connect your heart to the room of dominion. Everything that you want to do, do it with all your heart! If you want to walk in dominion let your heart be trained into it. And when the soul is employed in this holy exercised, the strength of our spiritual enemies will be trodden down and they will fall. Sisera was the opponent of Deborah, but because her heart was tuned into that room, he had to submit to her. From now henceforth all your enemies will submit themselves to you as you walk in this power of dominion in the mighty name of Jesus.

Judges 5:19-21 “The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money. They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera. The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.”

When you enter into this realm, you activate the heavenly forces to work for you. You know that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they are mighty through God to the pulling down of stronghold. Eph 6:10-18 Message translation

Page 105: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 105

Ephesians 6:10-18 And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. 11 So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. 12 This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels 13 Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. 14Truth, righteousness, 15 peace, 16 faith, 17 and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. 18 In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. MSG

Chapter 6

Rejoice in the Lord

Habakkuk 3:17-19 “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.”

Habakkuk 3:17-19 Though the cherry trees don't blossom and the strawberries don't ripen, Though the apples are worm-eaten and the wheat fields stunted, Though the sheep pens are sheepless and the cattle barns empty, 18 I'm singing joyful praise to GOD. I'm turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God. 19 Counting on GOD's Rule to prevail, I take heart and gain strength. I run like a deer. I feel like I'm king of the mountain! (For congregational use, with a full orchestra.) MSG

Rejoice because to rejoice is a portion that has been given unto you. It is a privilege given only to the children of God. Anything that has limited your joy this far by the anointing upon this commission I terminate it, in the name of Jesus. To rejoice is

Page 107: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 107

ordained by God. It is for you and your entire family to enjoy. God will lift you from where you are to where you are supposed to be in the mighty name of Jesus. Every enemy of your joy will be dethroned.

Deuteronomy 16:11-12 “And thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name there. And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt observe and do these statutes.

The New Living Bible translation presents that scripture like this:

Deuteronomy 16:11-12 “It is time to celebrate before the LORD your God at the place He chooses to put His name to be honoured. Celebrate with your whole family, all your servants, all the Levites from your towns, foreigners and orphans, and widows who live among you. Remember that you were slaves in Egypt: so be careful to obey this laws.” TLB

REJOICE! It is given to you to rejoice in the presence of your maker. God is omnipotent and omnipresent, so you are supposed to rejoice anywhere you are. There is no where that you can run to that God is not

Page 108: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 108

there. David discovered this and penned it sweetly in the following scripture:

Psalms 139:7-12 “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”

Since God is everywhere you ought to rejoice where ever you find your self because God commands you to do so especially where He has chosen to put His name. It doesn’t matter how the tears of the night has been, joy will come in the morning. From the scripture we read, to rejoice means to be glad, to be happy, to be satisfied, and to be filled with joy. For some people their joy level has gone so low! They have been bent over and caged in their spirit by the circumstances of life. Whatever has caged your spirit, I speak as an oracle of God; I command those gates to be broken open in the mighty name of Jesus. Let the joy level that has gone low in you begin to rise in the mighty name of Jesus.

Page 109: Give Me This Mountain-main

Page | 109

To rejoice means to exult, to celebrate in His presence. When you go out and you come in, your children exult at your arrival. That’s the way you ought to be rejoicing before your Heavenly Father. Whatever the situations and the circumstances of your life, you just rejoice in the LORD your God because you have just been presented with another opportunity to demonstrate the power of God. You should not look at situations and circumstances as if they are fixed. They are not fixed! There is no mountain that is fixed before Zerubbabel.

Zechariah 4:7 “Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. ”

Excuse me mountain, who art thou? Declare yourself, because the God I serve when He moves Himself, mountains skip as ram before Him.

You have to rejoice since you know the end from the beginning. Rejoicing is for you and your entire family including the strangers within your jurisdiction. As a believer you are not supposed to have anybody around you that is unable to make it.

When I was much younger, we used to live in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria in the railway compound and I was a little bit smallish in stature. There were these group of boys in the compound who took pleasure in harassing and tormenting my sister and me. They just enjoyed beating us up. Being the favourite (only son, then in the family), I enjoyed a lot of special love. So you can only imagine when we come home from school weeping, everyone at home will be interested in knowing who was responsible. One of my cousins then was a mechanic, whose biceps were well developed by reasons of his work. So usually, on our way back from school those bullies will take on my sister and I and all we could do was go home and cry. Then my cousin decided to take on those boys for us. Every time they attempted to beat us again, he would give them a thorough beating. It was such a delight to see those bullies belittled and my sister and I had the joy of jeering at them as they were beaten, humiliated and confounded before our eyes by our cousin.

That is how you are supposed to be rejoicing in the face of the devil. Jesus has taken him on and he is defeated for you!

To rejoice is to lift up a song. When you are going through a trial and a temptation and you don’t know

what to do, just lift up a song. Sing unto the LORD a new song. One of the keys that you can use to open doors is to sing to him in the face of apparent mountainous problems. You will just discover that the devil will say you see now he is singing again. And he will leave you alone. Sing to the LORD when you wake up in the morning, when you go to bed, or you are just going through your day.

To rejoice is to glory in the LORD. It is to extol Him. That is what we do in worship. Remind Him of how big and awesome He is to you. Many years ago, when I knew that God had some awesome things to do in my life, I had to go to Him to make enquiries - LORD if they say who sent me, what should I tell them? A servant of God must go back to God and get that definite reply from Him. Moses made that same request from God. It is so important because when you decide to step out for God, the enemy will definitely bombard you with questions that you need to tackle. You have to be ready to give him an answer. Since the devil is so trickish you have to know your God because those who know their God they shall be strong and do exploits.

If you want to do exploits on this earth you must know your God , so that when situations ask you who sent you , you will be able to say this is who sent me.

God will manifest himself differently to each one of us. The same way our faces are different is the same way God wants to show Himself strong on our behalf. The assignment and the challenges that He has placed in front of you is different from mine. You have to know His name. Jesus knew God as FATHER. Knowing the name of God will bring you into a point of rejoicing throughout. God wants you to rejoice in His presence. Because we have victory in the LORD Jesus Christ, only the will of God will come to pass in your life. Nothing will terminate our rejoicing. Anyone that has gathered evil will use His own head to carry it, in the mighty name of Jesus.

To rejoice is to celebrate. When you look back you will find a cause to rejoice. You must rejoice and never allow anything to limit your joy.

The Bible tells us to praise God, to worship Him, to sing, to make a joyful noise, giving God a big shout. A shout brought the walls of Jericho down. Your shout will bring every wall of Jericho down. I command the entire curses in the Bible to enter into anything that wants to limit your joy. Rejoice because it isyou’re your victory in the battles of life. Caleb had peace after the conquest of Hebron and his legacy in life was established. I pray that my God will give you victory over your own mountains, that He will

empower you to take your inheritance and make you walk in dominion.

I command you to occupy till he comes.

Are Your Born Again?

For God so loved the World He gave. What are you willing to give to enjoy your paid for right to eternity in heaven with God. Do you know this life is not all that is? You and I will have to face eternity, an endless time. But the question is how are you going to spend it? In Heaven or in Hell, which do you choose? Make up your mind today and accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. He wants you to spend eternity in heaven with Him and not in hell with Satan. If you would like to decide for Christ, say this simple prayer with me:

Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart, be the Lord and Master of my life. I am sorry for my sins and hereby renounce them all. I accept your atoning death and the gift of eternal life through your resurrection. Thank you for accepting me into the Kingdom. I am yours forever. Holy Spirit, fill my heart with your love always, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
