SECURE DIARY OF THE DAVE AND KRISTIN CLAN
D1 boarded a plane last Tuesday evening for the long flight home to Eastern
Europe. There are some tough decisions to be made re staff and funding for
their work in the capital city.
D2 is feeling optimistic and well cared for by her church and has enjoyed D4 being with her and the
other two kids this last week. She posts regularly on Facebook.
D3 (19) has settled well into his New College room at UNSW and has begun his engineering studies.
D4 (16) has still to make some friends at her new boarding school, about a two hour bus trip from her
mother, but mum thinks she is doing well.
D5 (14) and D6 (11) are living with mum and have started school there. D6 has less Norwegian than
his sisters but is coping at school.

HELPERS NEEDED FOR COMMUNION (easiest job ever) Communion is
now prepackaged into individual packs, so all you need to do is put the
packets onto trays and pop a couple of trays upstairs and some downstairs,
help serve the congregational members at the appropriate time in the
service and pop the remainder away after the service. Denise can give you
all the information you need, call her 0425 208 938 or email
JOIN OUR CLEANING CLEAN— In order to care for one another and make the church as
safe as possible for those using it after us, we will need cleaning teams to spray and wipe
down surfaces after the services. Everything will be supplied and should take 15 to 20
minutes. It would be great to have these rosters filled for each service.
Call Denise 9541 0990 or 0425 208 938 to add your name to your
service roster.
DAILY DEVOTIONALS Bruce will continue to write short weekday devotionals based on the
past weekend’s sermon to help us reflect on what we are learning until the end of the year.
We give thanks for his willingness to do this for us all. Great time to commence a habit of bible
reading and quiet time with the Lord. They will be available each morning on our Facebook
group as well as on the website at menaianglican.org/devotionals (or find it from the home
page under Grow/Growth Resources).
HELP—For many, life is difficult right now. Your staff and Pastoral care team are praying for
our members and our community during this difficult time. We encourage you to stay in touch
with your growth group and anyone else you may know who needs help and social contact. If
you know of someone in need and cannot help them, please let us know. There is a support
request page on our website for visitors to register their details and have someone contact
them at menaianglican.org/support.
COUNCIL RATE NOTICE: With your council rates, you would have received a free offer of
plants from the council nursery. If you would like to give this slip to the church, please leave this
slip on Denise’s desk so we can continue to beautify our gardens.
WH&S OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY Matters that relate to WH & S
issues at church are to be reported to a churchwarden/parish councillor OR leave Den-
ise a note on her desk. Our Incident Reporting Book is in the office. Simply fill in one
of the forms in the folder giving details of the incident and leave on Denise’s desk
for follow up.
LOST PROPERTY Items left at the church are placed in the cupboard immediately inside
our church (on right hand side) Check the bottom 2 shelves for lost items. Call Denise on 9541
0990 to collect.
—Our Church has a ‘nut free’ policy and we ask that no food
is brought to the church containing nuts or traces of nuts. Thank you for your help.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK & SAFE MINISTRY TRAINING Those working
with children and youth - thank you. Once you complete your working with children check
(whether for the first time or your renewal) and your safe ministry training, either Part A & B or Re-
fresher, please send to Denise your WWC number and date of birth and also a copy of your safe
ministry training certificate so we can include these in our records as per our legal responsibility.
Email [email protected] or leave a copy on her desk.
GIVE BOARD in the Church—Anyone interested in being involved in the church through
serving in one of our many ministries, please see the GIVE board at the back of the room to the left
of the kitchen. After the service, your SNC, 8 am 10 am and 6 pm GIVE leader will be hanging
around to answer any questions and walk you through the process of getting involved in a ministry.
OUR SERVICES— All services have returned but you can also join us on
line to worship our Lord and connect with each other. Services are live on our
Website and Facebook page at the regular service times of Sat. 6 pm, Sunday
8am, 10 am and Sunday @ 6. If you join us on the website or Facebook,
don’t forget to leave a comment to say hello and let us know you are there.
