Introduction_Objectives• The experts are divided about the number of continents in the world. They count anywhere from 4 to 7

continents ;some consider Europe and Asia to be one continent, some other consider North and South America to be one continent, and a few consider Europe, Asia, and Africa to be one huge continent called Eurafrasia. The format commonly used in education is the 7 continents format

• Lesson Objectives: From the presented materials and web links, students will learn the names, the locations and countries of

the world's continents .

OutcomesAt the end of this lesson, all students should be able to: • Understand how the world is divided in continents• Named with confident the 7 continents of the world• Locate with assurance the continents on the world map• Arrange the continents from smallest to biggest or vice versa, whenever asked to recall that knowledge.

AntarcticaAntarctica has no permanent residents, but a number of governments maintain permanent research stations throughout the continent. The number of people conducting and supporting scientific research and other work on the continent and its nearby islands varies from about 1,000 in winter to about 4,000 in summer. Many of the stations are staffed year-round.
