Goal Map
So far this semester, I have had a lot of questions that I asked myself that have been very
difficult to answer. This is probably one of the most difficult questions asked so far. What do I want to
accomplish long term and short term, and by the end of the semester? I am very uncertain at this point
with what career I would like to pursue, but I absolutely would like a college degree.
A couple of careers I have seriously considered is Physical Therapist, Lawyer, and starting my
own business. Lately, through previous semesters, I have narrowed it down to lawyer, and Physical
Therapist, but am leaning towards Physical Therapist. I would like to be a Physical Therapist, with my
own clinic, where I can enjoy helping others, as well as enjoy the experience of working, and
communicating with other people.
In order to do so, I need to get good grades, and figure out what major would best fit my needs
and desires. Eventually I would like a family, nice house, nice cars, and a nice career. However, for
now, I would like to graduate with a good GPA. I believe that if I can form good study habits, maintain
motivation, and keep my priorities straight, I can get a lot out of this class, and gain knowledge that will
also help outside of the classroom. By the end of the semester, my goal is to get straight “A’s” so I can
even look into getting a scholarship for school, not only to help financially, but help motivate myself to
continue to do better.
After getting a scholarship, or getting better grades, I would like to get attention from the
University of Utah’s Physical Therapy school. There may be changes in my life, that may want me to
change my career or plan, and I find that the hardest thing because changing goals seems to change
your thoughts and approach, and to maintain focus. Being able to utilize my strengths, and embracing
them, can be the best thing out of this class, other than time management, and maintaining
motivation/focus.
