The flowers on the chancel this morning are given in loving memory of Lee Ashwell (1935-2016) by Jan Ashwell and family, Kathi & John Alfred, Rick & Debbie Ashwell, Kelsey & Justin Cline, Cody Alfred, and great-grandchildren Baylee and Bryant Cline. The memorial service for Dr. Bill Thomas at Emmanuel on August 10 was a positive tribute to his life and ministry. Pastors Kurt Busiek, David Carpenter, Bill Stout and Mark Eaton all shared about Bill's impact on others. Jane Irvine and Claire Dent blessed us with music. Fred and Debbie Fenton attended the Day with Dad event at St. Mary's Correctional Center on August 10. They were impressed and inspired by this event which unites fathers in prison with their children. The NY Trip Talent Show last Saturday was really fun and raised over $1800 to defray transportation costs. Ryan Phipps blessed us with beautiful cello music Sunday morning. Clara Howard and Sharon Beall were with us in church last Sunday. Bernard King, Gail Samolitis' dad, is back home and doing better. Our college students are headed to their colleges this week; pray that they have a good and positive semester. This week we delivered our school supplies to the Stuff the Bus program.
