Memory Verse Activity

There isn't anyone who is like God because no one is perfect! The fact that God is Holy (Perfect, Clean and without evil) ensures that every attribute of God is Perfect, Clean, and without evil.

Take a glass of pure water (preferably bottled water that says "pure" on the label). Talk about what makes the water pure (bad stu is ltered out so only the good stu is left). Compare and contrast this with God's purity. God is totally clean and pure; there's nothing bad in Him. He doesn't need to be "ltered."

Next, add something you think is very foul into the water and stir it up. (It's gross, but if you have an animal and could add a bit of its droppings to the water, the result is very eective) Ask, "Would you be willing to drink this nasty, polluted water? Why? Why not?" The tiniest bit of something foul destroys the whole glass of water. The tiniest bit of sin would destroy Gods holiness; He would not be pure. God cannot be in a relationship with someone who has been stained or "made dirty" with sin and remain pure and clean. It is impor-tant for us to remember that even what we may consider "just a little sin" still makes our clean heart dirty.

The good news is that God made a way for us to be washed clean and pure so we CAN have a relationship with Him! When you accept Christ as your personal Savior and Lord, He washes your sins away once and for all.him by the throat and demanded instant payment. His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. "Be patient with me, and I will pay it," he pleaded. But his creditor wouldn't wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full. When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, "You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. Shouldn't you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you!"

Bible Activity: 20 min

Get the Kids in a circle to begin the game.

Say: Let’s play a game that shows us how we are alike and how we are dier-ent. All you need to do is follow my instructions. If what I say is true about you, all you have to do is stand up. If what I say is not true, stay seated.

Example: Stand up if you ate breakfast. (Several children should be standing.) Stand up if you rode on a bus this week. (Some children will stand while some will sit down.)

Choose from the following phrases or create your own: Stand up if __________________. Be sure to include the 3 bold-print phrases in your list of phrases. You are wearing tennis shoes. You are wearing pants. You have a brother. You created the world. You like to play soccer. You took a bath yesterday. You are smarter than anyone in the world. You have a sister. You rode in a car today. You watched TV this week. You’ve never done anything wrong in your life.

After the activity, Grab a bible and get the kids to sit down (encourage your fellow teachers to help you).say: Did you notice that there were some state-ments that everyone sat down for? Who can remember one of those state-ments? (Allow a child to respond.) One of the statements you sat down for was, “You created the world.” We all sat down because no one here created the world. Who created the world? (Let the children answer. Answer: God) Another statement you sat down for was, “You are smarter than anyone in the world.” Some of us may be very smart or clever but nobody here is the smartest person in the world. Who is it that knows everything there is to know? (Let the children answer. Answer: God) The last phrase that everyone sat down for was, “You’ve never done anything wrong.” All of us have done wrong things. There’s not one person alive that can say, “I’m perfect.” The Bible tells us that only God is perfect.

Have the older kids read the following (Deuteronomy 32:4, Psalm 143:4, Mat-thew 5:48, Romans 3:10) This means that God is perfect in every way. He is totally pure and there is no evil in Him.
