Prelude
Call to Worship | Genesis 1:26-28a and Psalm 8 God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them.
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

CONFESSION
Confession of Sin | Job 38:4-7 and prayer “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements—surely you know!Or who stretched the line upon it?On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Our Father, forgive us for thinking small thoughts of you and for ignoring your immensity and greatness. Lord Jesus, forgive us when we forget that you rule the nations and our small lives. Holy Spirit, we offend you in minimizing your power and squandering your gifts. We confess that our blindness to your glory, O triune God, has resulted in shallow confession, tepid conviction, and only mild repentance. Have mercy upon us, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon | from Romans 4:21-25, 5:1-5 As the covenant people of God, we approach the throne of grace with confidence, fully convinced that God is able to do what he has promised. And this faith will be counted as righteousness to those who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Catechesis | Heidelberg Catechism: Q 1: Christian, what is your only hope in life and death? A: That I am not my own, but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death, to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from all the power of the devil. He also preserves me in such a way that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, all things must work together for my salvation. Therefore, by his Holy Spirit he also assures me of eternal life and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live for him.

Account of The Lord’s Supper | Matt. 26:20-29
Prayer for Communion and Reunion Lord Jesus Christ, on the night on which you were betrayed, you prayed that we might be one, even as you and the Father are one. Though we cannot share in the loaf in which the many are one, there is nevertheless one Body and one Spirit — one Lord, one faith, one baptism — one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. We look forward to that day when you gather us again in full communion with one another, and until then we entrust ourselves to you. We pray this day of separation and waiting will lead soon to another day of fellowship and rejoicing. And we remember that here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. For we ask it in Jesus’ name, Amen.
