Dear Fellow Member,

On behalf of the Everglades GCSA Board of Directors, I would like to wish everyone and their families a wonderful holiday season and hope that 2017 is a very successful year. During this time it is always important to thank the people in your lives that have made it special; whether it’s a loved one, friend or co-worker. Without question, the people you surround yourselves with have a dramatic impact on your success. The entire board “thanks you” for your support of the EGCSA Chapter in making it the most successful Chapter in Florida.

The EGCSA Christmas Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, December 15 at Bonita Bay Naples Club. With this event being our most popular for the year, we are fortunate that they have offered both golf courses for us to utilize a field of 176 players capped (members only). Please thank Hal Akins CGCS and Paul Bradley for hosting the Christmas Event and allowing the Everglades to play two great golf courses.

We are teaming up once again with the Children’s Home Society of Florida to support their Holiday Gift Drive. Your generosity in the past years have brought so many smiles to the face of children around this area, and I hope that you will join us again this year in helping to create more smiles. The gifts donated will brighten this Christmas for the participants in the Healthy Families Program, Development Disabilities Program, The Early Learning Program, and the Independent Living Program.

To participate, bring unwrapped toys for boys and girls in the original packaging with a minimum value of $10. Each gift will be exchanged for a raffle ticket for the evening drawing of cash and prizes.

I want to thank Vanderbilt Country Club and my entire staff for holding the Pro-Super / Pro-Vendor Event on October 31st. It was a fantastic turnout with 90 players competing on a beautiful day with some slick greens and great food.

A special Thank you to Brian Bowles and ShowTurf for their 5th year as the presenting sponsor of this event. Having a presenting sponsor for this event enabled us to give out many prizes and gifts on the day. Thank You ShowTurf!

The Assistants meeting was held at Olde Florida on October 24th with the theme being “Audubon” and 9 holes of golf. Thank you Darren Davis for your time organizing this event and for making the golf course available for 9 holes of golf. Thank you also to WescoTurf for being the presenting sponsor for the Assistants meetings in 2016.

I look forward to seeing you on Thursday, December 15th, enjoying what promises to be another memorable Christmas tournament.
