There are many more activities and events planned for our children between now and Christmas. Next Monday we would like to invite the community to our school at 11 am to A COMMUNITY LUNCH TO FAREWELL MRS LOUGHREY. We are really going to miss her in our school. We will have a big lunch together to say a big THANKYOU to her. Today our children were lucky to have Chelsea Strasek working with them on cultural singing, dance and music. Everyone had a great time and I would like to thank Chelsea for all of her time and thank you to Mrs Gibbs for organising this event. Next week, our secondary school will be heading out on Thursday to identify and collect bush tucker plants in our local area. We hope to plant these plants in our Journey to Respect gardens. We are all looking forward to the NBSA Presentation Evening on Friday night, to see Ursula formally graduate from High School. We will be holding a graduation evening for our whole school on Wednesday the 12 th of December. Remember to save your money (or give money each week to the office) so that your child can attend the water park fair at Mungundi on Friday the 23 rd of November! This will be a wonderful day! Remember that if you have any concerns, you are most welcome to come to the school and we are happy to help you. Have a great week! Royal Visit in

Dubbo On Wednesday 17th of October, the secondary students

set off at 5:30am to witness the Royal Visit in Dubbo. The students, along with Uncle Bob, Aunty Karen Lane, Mr St Clair and Miss Moss, enjoyed a morning of entertainment at Victoria Park where a number of food and goods stalls

were set up. There were also dancers, sideshow performers, stunt-dogs and the band Thirsty Merc. Prince

Harry and Meghan arrived just as some heavy rain started. Everyone stood in the rain to watch the Royals

and listen to Prince Harry’s speech. To escape the rain for a while, our students explored a model Royal Flying

GOODOOGA CENTRAL

SCHOOL WORKSHOP NEWS

The school’s workshop has two new wood working benches and tool cupboards due to the collaboration of Stage four (Tylera, Lincoln, Damien, Ryan, Trevor and Naioka), Stage Five (Christopher Daniel, Tyron, Shelton, Kia and Shakira) students and teacher aides Karen Lane and Bob Hooper. The skills involved in making these benches and cupboards have included the following: measuring, cutting, grinding, electric arc welding (MMA), drilling, sanding, spray painting, routing, concealed hinge drilling plus setting up, nut and bolting and impact driver screwing. All work was completed using the correct personal protective equipment. I doubt whether you’ll find better benches in any other school in the Island of Nations (Australia). They should be very proud of themselves and if the last benches are anything to go by which lasted the community over fifty years this is an excellent achievement. Take a look, for yourselves

Masonite Top used to protect two- pack - polyurethane display tops. Drilling and sawing will be done on top of special add on blocks. New to Goodooga, are buttress thread quick release vices.

A very big thankyou to Ms Downes and Mr Banks who have supported this venture from the beginning and always purchase the best quality equipment for our students.
