A $5 soup and sandwich luncheon will be available in the church social hall following the concert. Lindquist is an avid chamber music player and has appeared at the Marlboro Music Festival, with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, White Mountains Festival, Music at Angel Fire, at the Bravo!, Colorado Festival in Vail and the Manchester Music Festival. She has toured the United States as a member of Speculum Musicae and the Aurora trio and performed fre- quently with the Theatre Chamber Players of the Kennedy Center. Lindquist was a featured performer with the members of the Chicago Symphony in Symphony Hall where she performed the world premier of Michael Tenzer’s Sources of Current. She has also been heard as soloist with major orchestras across the United States and in Europe includ- ing: the National Symphony, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Brooklyn Philhar- monic and the Vienna Austria Sym- phony. Formerly a member of the Balti- more Symphony, she is principal harp of the Brooklyn Philharmonic and the Long Island Philharmonic orches- tras. Lindquist began her harp studies at the age of 10. She was a student of Suzanne Balderston and Eileen Malone and later graduated from The Julliard School, earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees under Marcel Grandjany. She can be heard on Varese, Sarabande, Orion, Music Masters and Bridge records. Tarantiles, whom The New York Times has referred to as “an expert harpist,” received his Bachelor of Mu- sic degree with high distinction and his Master of Music Degree with high- est distinction from Indiana Univer- sity School of Music where he was a student of Peter Eagle. He has also studied with Jane Weidensaul and Kathleen Bride. He has concertized throughout the United States and has performed as soloist in all the major concert halls in New York City. He has appeared on national television accompanying op- era stars Aprile Millo, Benita Valente, Renée Fleming, Heidi Grant-Murphy, Jennifer Larmore, Marcello Giordani, Susan Graham, Maureen O’Flynn, Ruth Ann Swenson, Ramon Vargas, and Christine Goerke. Currently principal harpist for the Metropolitan Opera Guild, New York City Opera National Company, Glimmerglass Opera Festival, Arizona Opera Wagner Festival, New Jersey State Opera, Connecticut Grand Op- era, the Center for Contemporary Opera, Teatro Grattacielo, Northeast- ern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Riv- erside Symphonia, the Princeton Sym- phony, Festival Musical de Santo Domingo 2001 and 2003, and most recently the Casals Festival in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he has also per- formed in orchestras backing up head- liners as diverse as Placido Domingo, Marilyn Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Jones, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Connie Francis, Roberta Flack, John Denver, Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole and Patti Lupone. Tarantiles’ multi-faceted career has included stints at The Fantasticks (the world’s longest running musical), Ra- dio City Musical Hall, in Broadway pits playing both harp and synthe- sizer, and as staff harpist at the Paper Mill Playhouse. He is featured on an album re- leased by BMG, as well as a recording of contemporary chamber music for EMI and he is also the official harpist of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. Well known for his appearances as principal harpist with opera orches- tras throughout the east coast, Tarantiles recently was honored to be invited to play several concerts as principal harpist with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Puerto Rico and by New York City Opera for their produc- tions of Salome and The Rape of Lucretia. Directed by WHS drama teacher Joe Nierle, this play is his adaptation of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol.” The Thursday, December 9, perfor- mance will begin at 2:30 p.m. The curtain time for the Friday, December 10, and Saturday, December 11, perfor- mances is 8 p.m. with a special matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday. All performances will be held in the WHS auditorium, located at 550 Dorian Road in Westfield. A Junkyard Christmas Carol has a modern twist, starting with a business- man arrested for tax fraud. His com- munity service sentence brings him to the homeless residing in a local junkyard. the company led by Max Lazar, who portrays Scrooge. Fellow actors include Aaron Eisenberg as Marley, with Christ- mas Past, Present and Future played by Chloe Zeitounian, Emily Greenberg and Nick Brennan, respectively. Zal Spialter, Stephanie Christiano, Alex Wronski, Suzanne Toriello, Geor- gia Mierswa and James Seipo are mem- bers of the Crachit Family. The Fezziwig Family members are Dan Foltz- Morrison, Jennifer Kujawski, Rachael Leopold and James Hooper-Hamersley. Nick Williams and Allison Siko play the young apprentice Scrooge and his first love, Belle. Mike Burns plays an- other apprentice in the Fezziwig Firm. Allison Simon portrays Scrooge’s sister, Fan, with Chris Hild as his nephew, Fred. Lyndsay Ryan, Jessica Minsky and Maurice Blackmon complete the party group. There, he produces a rendition of the Dickens classic using the junkyard in- habitants with their environment, the junkyard, as the play’s setting. Jake Brandman wrote the junkyard scenes as part of his independent study in Nierle’s drama class. Scrooge’s one-time partner, Jacob Marley, who has been dead for the past seven years, visits him on Christmas Eve. Wearing the heavy chains he forged in life, Marley’s mission is to prepare Scrooge for the visit the three spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future. This is his opportunity to change his mean-spirited ways. After the evening of memories and possibilities, Scrooge is a changed man and learns to spend Christmas in a loving and giving spirit. Thirty-three student actors comprise Servants, party guests, homeless and children are played by supporting cast members, Patrina Caruana, Kate Dou- glas, Will Eisenberg, Alex Forstenhausler, Bill Geltzeiler, Sarah Gerber, Jeff Hogan, Ellen Scariati and Michael Tannenbaum. WHS art teacher Roy Chambers de- signed and constructed the set with stu- dent assistance. Tim Mathews was assisted by Greg Ryan in stage management, while Greg and Jaclyn Nicoll handled lights. Julia Korn managed props, Lauren Miceli assembled costumes and Kayli Spialter managed hair and makeup duties. All tickets for the performances are general admission at $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. All tickets for Saturday’s children’s matinee are $5. This work, Britten’s settings of old English carol texts, is composed for cho- rus and harp, and the virtuoso harp part will be performed by noted harpist Karen Lindquist. WESTFIELD WESTFIELD WESTFIELD WESTFIELD WESTFIELD – A Junkyard Christ-mas Carol will be presented by theWestfield High School (WHS) DramaDepartment this weekend. Directedby WHS drama teacher Joe Nierle, thisplay is his adaptation of Charles Dickens“A Christmas Carol.”

The Thursday, December 9, perfor-mance will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thecurtain time for the Friday, December10, and Saturday, December 11, perfor-mances is 8 p.m. with a special matineeat 2 p.m. on Saturday.

All performances will be held in theWHS auditorium, located at 550Dorian Road in Westfield.

A Junkyard Christmas Carol has amodern twist, starting with a business-man arrested for tax fraud. His com-munity service sentence brings him tothe homeless residing in a local junkyard.

Mike Burns plays an-other apprentice in the Fezziwig Firm.

Allison Simon portrays Scrooge’s sister,Fan, with Chris Hild as his nephew, Fred.Lyndsay Ryan, Jessica Minsky and MauriceBlackmon complete the party group.

There, he produces a rendition of theDickens classic using the junkyard in-habitants with their environment, thejunkyard, as the play’s setting.

Jake Brandman wrote the junkyardscenes as part of his independent studyin Nierle’s drama class.

Scrooge’s one-time partner, JacobMarley, who has been dead for the pastseven years, visits him on ChristmasEve. Wearing the heavy chains he forgedin life, Marley’s mission is to prepareScrooge for the visit the three spirits ofChristmas Past, Present and Future.This is his opportunity to change hismean-spirited ways. After the eveningof memories and possibilities, Scroogeis a changed man and learns to spendChristmas in a loving and giving spirit.

Thirty-three student actors comprise

Servants, party guests, homeless andchildren are played by supporting castmembers, Patrina Caruana, Kate Dou-glas, Will Eisenberg, AlexForstenhausler, Bill Geltzeiler, SarahGerber, Jeff Hogan, Ellen Scariati andMichael Tannenbaum.

WHS art teacher Roy Chambers de-signed and constructed the set with stu-dent assistance. Tim Mathews was assistedby Greg Ryan in stage management, whileGreg and Jaclyn Nicoll handled lights.Julia Korn managed props, Lauren Miceliassembled costumes and Kayli Spialtermanaged hair and makeup duties.

All tickets for the performances aregeneral admission at $7 for adults and$5 for children 12 and under. All ticketsfor Saturday’s children’s matinee are $5.
