ARE YOU EXCITED? Your District Board has been hard at work these past couple months to bring you a great opportunity! The Fall Rallies will be held in three different locations so that a maximum number of clubs can attend.

Please consider attending this event with your board and bring general members as well. This year, each rally is a half-day session and it will include different workshops varying from officer trainings for each specific position, to general member workshops that can educate and impassion your Key Club members.

2

Your Lieutenant Governor should have given you the registration form for these Rallies, but if not, you can find the form on our website (wiumkeyclub.com) or contact me ASAP to register! As a special, there will be a Servant Leadership workshop at each rally. This has been carefully constructed and will be very beneficial for all Key Club members. If you have any questions about the Fall Rallies, feel free to contact me. We would love to see every club represented.

Let’s talk about Fall Rallies

inclusiveness

caring character building

If you email me with the

name and contact information of your LTG, you will receive one free spot to a Fall Rally! You have until October 5th!

Has your club ever attended DCON?

District Convention is when Key Club members throughout the District come together to elect new board members, improve leadership skills, discover even more about Key Club, and fraternize with members who love service just as much as you do! Members who have already attended District Convention can attest to how great an experience it is. As a board, we have decided that we want to see every club represented at DCON, whether it is with a just a few members of your board, or if it be 40 members who are all hooked on Key Club.

2

In order to run for a District Board position, you must attend DCON. Do you have what it takes to run for office? You must be willing to spend a lot of time on the District, but for me, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences. The best part is that every Key Club member can run! The atmosphere at this convention is unbelievable. You will have the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and become a better leader. Maybe you can even join in a game of “Ride that Pony” while your there!

3

In order to be distinguished you have the option to submit an article to the Key to Caring. Unfortunately this issue was just sent out, but it’s never too late to write your article and send it in for next term! Submit your article to Nick Lewicki through this link- http://wiumkeyclub.com/e_ktc_submission.html Your LTG’s have been posting very important information on each of your Divisional Facebook Pages; so it is essential that EVERYONE from your club join that group. Join your Divisional Facebook Page here- http://wiumkeyclub.com/e_facebook.html Are you on Twitter? Follow @WIUMKeyClub to get updates and fundraising ideas!

Sugar Plum Toy Shop:

This service project includes receiving toy donations from the community and putting them all in a room at a Children’s Hospital closest to you. Then, parents can go toy shopping through items for their children who are in the hospital.

With it being the start of the school year, I’m hoping that your club is swimming in service, but in case you are looking for a few different service projects, here are some ideas: Habitat for Humanity: Would your club be interested in volunteering for a Habitat House? This great opportunity is easy to set up, and incredibly rewarding in the end. There are some stipulations to this service project because of liability issues, so be aware of that when scheduling dates for this project. Below is a picture of D-18 volunteering for Habitat!
