LIBRARY

The college was established in 1963 with donated

600 books which within a year increased to 2500. The

library in the following years went on growing and the

number has been increased to 44493 books today.

We have a very good collection of text books and

reference books. We have rich collection in English,

Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu Literature.

We have sufficient number text books as per new

UGC syllabus.

From UGC’S XI Plan we purchased 3887 books on

different subjects.

Full Form- Information Library Network

It is a unit of UGC and its working for the

development of academic Libraries.

It has developed the SOUL software through which

union cataloguing is going on.

With the help of union catalogue resources each

library can be interconnected and any member of

INFLIBNET can browse the collection of different

libraries.

We started library automation in year 2010

using SOUL 2.0 software.

Full form- Software for University Libraries

SOUL is a Window based Software which makes

operation quite easy.

SOUL has been designed as a tool for automation and

management of University Libraries.

SOUL contains six Modules:AcquisitionCatalogueCirculationSerial ControlOPACAdministrationUse of SOUL increases efficiency and output of the members of staff and improves quality of service, which will ultimately attract more and more user’s to the library system and help in attaining users satisfaction.

CATALOGUE

Catalogue module covers all the activities out in a cataloguing section of a college library. It contains cataloguing process, catalogue search, user services and reports. Rendering of main entry is to be done according to AACR 2.

We provide Subject Heading, Depth Classification and Book No.

Catalogue entries have Title, Author, Publisher, Year of Publication, Place of Publication, Language, ISBN, Class No., Book No. Location and Price.

AUTOMATION OF LIBRARY

CIRCULATIONCirculation module includes all the elements of

circulation section required in a Library. Each sub modules includes activities of different aspects of work normally carried out in the circulation section. It has got provision to automatically produce reminder for overdue books, calculate overdue charges and accordingly bring out reports of various activities.
