    To- infinitive

    The infinitiveis the base form of a verb. Examples are: write, run, break, read, walk etc.The infinitive may be preceded by the marker to. It is then called the to-infinitive.Examples of to-infinitives are given below:

    Recognizing an infinitivewhen y ou see one.

    To sneeze, to smash, to cry, to scream, to jump, to go, to read, to eat, to walkall of these areinfinitives. An infinitive will almost always begin with tofollowed by the simple form of the verb,like this:to + base form of a verb = infinitive
