4Este Students Companion es un libro y un cuaderno de referencia que podrs utilizar tanto en clase como en casa. Incluye toda la gramtica y el vocabulario del libro de texto que necesitars manejar para preparar tanto los Unit Tests como los Progress Tests.
Gracias a su formato, podrs utilizarlo junto con tu cuaderno durante las clases de ingls. Adems, podrs llevrtelo de un lado para otro, y consultarlo en cualquier momento.
Material de referencia El Companion ofrece explicaciones claras que facilitan el aprendizaje autnomo. Tambin incluye, al final de cada unidad, una pgina de autoevaluacin que te permitir evaluar tu progreso.

5Para aprovechar al mximo el tiempo que dedicas al estudio, asegrate de leer y repasar con regularidad las notas que tomas en clase. Si repasas la gramtica, el vocabulario y las destrezas, tu nivel de ingls mejorar.
Repasar de forma efectiva Tmate tu tiempo todos los das para
consultar y repasar los apuntes. Es mejor dedicar veinte minutos al da que dos horas una vez por semana.
Haz una lista de los aspectos concretos que necesitas repasar.
Intenta aplicar tcnicas de repaso variadas. Hay personas a las que les gusta repasar en una habitacin en silencio o en la biblioteca. Otras, en cambio, prefieren repasar mientras escuchan msica de fondo. Si no quieres repasar siempre solo, pdele a un amigo que te acompae de vez en cuando.
Repasar la gramtica La mejor forma de repasar la gramtica
es practicar siempre que sea posible. Asegrate de que respondes a todas las preguntas sobre gramtica que se incluyen en el Students Book y el Workbook.
Comprueba tus respuestas y corrige las que sean incorrectas.
Consulta el apartado Grammar Reference para entender mejor tus propios errores, y as evitar cometerlos la prxima vez.
Lee las notas que has escrito en tu Companion.
Repasar el vocabulario No aprendas demasiadas palabras a la
vez. Establece un mximo, por ejemplo, entre 5 y 10 palabras al da. Aprndelas por la maana y comprueba si las recuerdas en otro momento del da.
Prepara tarjetas de repaso de vocabulario. Anota el nombre del grupo lxico en un lado de la tarjeta. En el otro lado, escribe todas las palabras que componen ese grupo. Comprueba que las recuerdas mientras viajas en autobs, o cuando tengas unos minutos libres.
Asegrate de que sabes pronunciar las palabras, consultando su transcripcin fontica en la lista del vocabulario. As, entenders mejor cmo funciona el ingls oral, y eso te ayudar a expresarte con ms claridad.
Si dices las palabras en voz alta de vez en cuando, las aprenders con rapidez, y las incorporars a tu memoria de larga duracin.
Repasar el trabajo de destrezas Vuelve a consultar las pginas de
destrezas del Students Book y el Workbook.
Anota en tu Companion cualquier cosa que necesites recordar, incluyendo recomendaciones y estrategias que has ido adquiriendo.
Asegrate de que has completado todas las tareas del Workbook, y cualquier otra que haya propuesto tu profesor.

UsosEl verbo be se traduce por ser, estar y tener (con edades).

Possessive s Posesivo en sSe aade s a sustantivos y nombres propios para expresar posesin.

Hay un solo adjetivo posesivo de 3 persona del plural: their.

Adverbs of frequencyAdverbios de frecuencia
Los adverbios de frecuencia se suelen colocar delante del verbo.
They never watch TV in the morning. Nunca ven la tele por la maana.
En el caso del verbo be, se colocan detrs.
Hes never late. Nunca llega tarde.
can / cantLa forma can es la misma para todas las personas del verbo. La afirmativa se forma colocando can delante del infinitivo del verbo principal.
I can, you can, he / she / it can, we can, you can, they can go.
I can speak English. S hablar ingls.
I can go to the park. Puedo ir al parque.
La negativa se forma colocando not detrs de can (cannot). Es la misma para todas las personas del verbo. La forma contracta cant es ms frecuente.
I cant, you cant, he / she / it cant, we cant, you cant, they cant go.
I cant go to the cinema on Friday. No puedo ir al cine el viernes.
I cant play tennis. No s jugar al tenis.
La interrogativa se forma colocando can al principio de la frase, delante del sujeto.
Can I, you, he / she / it, we, you, they go?
En las respuestas breves, el verbo principal se omite y se utilizan slo can / cant para la afirmativa y negativa.
