semi-zero waste livingZero waste living can be very overwhelming so I try to live a semi-zero waste lifestyle. Here are some of my tips for the month:

1) Use a reusable water bottle and/or coffee mug. Bottled water produces over 1.5 million tons of plastic waste per year.

2) Invest in resuable shopping bags for groceries and everyday shopping. Don’t forget to say “no thank you” when offered plastic bags for small purchases (i.e., takeout food, mall purchases, etc.)

3) Buy in bulk and shop your local farmer’s market. The food is fresh, in season and supports your neighbors. Buying in bulk allows you to reduce waste, bring your own jars for an added bonus.
