PTO NEWS AND NOTES Please join us for the following special PTO events: • The next PTO Meeting is Monday, May 6, at 7:00pm in the Science Lab. • The PTO Spring Fundraiser items will be available for pickup after school on Friday, May 17. • Join us for Spirit Night at Chick-Fil-A on Tuesday, May 7, from 4:00-7:00pm. Mention our school to the cashier in the Drive Thru or inside and a portion of sales will go to Green Park. A flyer is attached. • Join us for an Eat-n-Earn at Lions’ Choice, 6030 South Lindbergh, on Monday, May 20, from 4:00-8:00pm. A flyer is attached. • The End of the School Year Picnic will be on Friday, May 17, from 5:00-8:00pm. We will have Bounce Houses and BBQ provided by the Lutheran Rangers. We hope you can join us!
APPRECIATION WEEK—MAY 6 THROUGH MAY 10 Appreciation Week at Green Park is next week, May 6-10. Various things are planned throughout the week to celebrate our wonderful faculty and staff. PTO encourages all families to send in a kind note, a treat or a small gift to honor the wonderful women and men that help make our school a wonderful place to be.
SAVE THE DATE! 5TH ANNUAL GOLF SCRAMBLE—SEPTEMBER 15, 2019 Do you have any connections to Sam's Club, Costco or a snack/beverage distributor? Are you interested in being a part of our event through sponsorship or advertising? If so, we would love to hear from you! We are looking for snack and beverages donations for our golfer goodie bags. We are also in need of sponsors and advertisers for our event. We are considering a GP quarter zip this year as the golfer giveaway and there's advertising opportunities on that item as well. REV. DR. RICHARD LABORE TO RETIRE After many years of service to Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and Lutheran High School South, Rev. Dr. Richard LaBore will be retiring. His ministry will be celebrated with a reception on Sunday, May 5, at 3:00pm at Resurrection, 9907 Sappington Road. Light appetizers, refreshments, music, and speakers. All are invited.

PRINCIPAL’S CORNER What a wonderful day we had today, enjoying another successful Faith Family Field Day! The weather didn’t exactly cooperate as well as in past years, but we adjusted the locations of some of the events and made it work. The kids, faculty, and staff had a great time. We recognized our 8th grade Faith Family Leaders today. We appreciate their service and dedication they have provided over the years. We also thank all of the parent volunteers. EXCITING NEWS—FREDBIRD & FRIENDS PROGRAM COMING TO GREEN PARK! On Monday, May 20, at 1:30 in the afternoon, Fredbird & Friends will be hosting an assembly in the gym at Green Park. This is a part of their “Fredbird & Friends Elementary School Program”. A letter with details is attached—but a couple of things to note: parents are invited to come for the assembly; students, faculty, and staff, along with parents, are invited to wear their favorite Cardinal attire that day; and Fredbird will be accompanied by former Cardinal pitcher Kyle McClellan! We hope you can join us for this fun assembly!

CELEBRATION OF MRS. DEBBIE PRANGE Come join the celebration of the ministry of Mrs. Debbie Prange. Debbie has spent over 35 years in ministry teaching children about Christ and sharing her musical talents with them. She has decided to retire at the end of this school year and move into a new chapter in her life. We invite everyone to come and share their congratulations and words of blessing with her. On May 19, from 11:30am to 1:30pm, at Peace Lutheran Church, Green Park will be hosting an Open House. Light food and drinks will be served. Come after late church and thank Mrs. Prange for her dedicated service to God's children.

UPCOMING LUTHERAN SOUTH SPRING CONCERTS Friday, May 3 at 7:30pm Spring Band Concert featuring the Lutheran South Wind Symphony, Concert Band and the Junior Winds, a select band of the best Lutheran elementary school band members in the area. This concert will be held in the Concordia Center at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood. Sunday, May 5 at 7:00pm - Annual “On Broadway” Concert. The concert is set for Sunday evening, May 5, in the Kuhlmann Center at LHSS. Select vocalists will present pre-concert music starting soon after 7:00pm, with the full program beginning at 7:30pm. Featured will be the Lancer Singers, including Green Park alums Lindsay Miller, Gordon Ko, and Josh Stroups, along with auditioned soloists. A free will offering will be received and a reception will follow the program. All are welcome.
DUTCH TOUCH SOCCER CAMP AT LUTHERAN SOUTH Lutheran South will host soccer coaches from Holland for a once-in-a-lifetime camp on June 24 through June 27. The Camp will be lead by world-class Dutch Instructor, Jan Pruijn. Along with a staff of other talented US and Dutch Federation coaches, the Dutch Touch camp creates a training atmosphere similar to that of top youth soccer programs in Europe. There will be more than 10 hours of instruction from top European coaches and staff. This is one of the many camps offered this summer. We look forward to seeing you!
JOB OPENING AT LESA The Lutheran Elementary School Association (LESA) is seeking a part-time Communication Specialist to develop and maintain all community outreach activities. The ideal candidate will represent LESA and work with the management team to develop and implement initiatives that increase LESA’s visibility within the community through messaging, promotion, and resource development. The ideal candidate is a Christian individual holding bachelor’s degree with minimum of two-years’ experience in a nonprofit agency (helpful, but not required); experience with or knowledge of Lutheran education is a plus, excellent inter- and intra-personal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong time-management skills, with ability to be responsible and take initiative with minimal supervision; strong knowledge of social media and other basic marketing platforms and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is a must. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule and some opportunities for working remotely, and would be perfect for a parent who loves Lutheran education. APRIL-MAY CHAPEL OFFERINGS TO BENEFIT FEED MY PEOPLE Our chapel offerings for the rest of the year will be going to Feed My People. Feed My People was started in 1982 as a way to help people in the South County area needing food. Today, Feed My People has over 25 programs, including a Thrift Store at each location as primarily a service to their clients, but also open to the public. This organization serves 16 different zip codes in the St. Louis area and helps over 80,000 people each year. Feed My People is supported by donations from individuals, schools, churches, businesses, foundations and community groups. Please help us support their service to our community!

SUMMER CAMP AT PEACE Peace Lutheran Church will be offering a summer camp beginning on May 29th for children ages 5 to 12. There will be several field trips, sports, games and crafts.
