PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Term four has come around very quickly and we have hit the stage of the year where planning for the next year is well underway.

One of the areas that is very important in planning for the upcoming year is to know how many students we are expecting. For this to occur we need to know the following

information:

1. If you are planning to change your child’s school and won’t be returning to GVPS.

2. If your children will be back to GVPS but not at the start of the year. Places for students can not be counted if a student does not plan to return by the end of term 1.

3. If you have a child who will be turning 5 before 1st August 2016, they are eligible to enrol for 2016. If you live in our boundaries we respectfully ask they you contact us as soon as possible to start the enrolment process. Compulsory school age is 6.

In this newsletter is a cut off slip that I ask you to complete and return to school if any of the above apply to your circumstances.

The term started very well last week with students coming back very settled and straight into excellent learning routines. One of the great things about our school is how alive with learning our classrooms are. Students are very fortunate to have such committed teachers who inspire them to great things.

Our students are very curious to learn and our teachers are doing a brilliant job in bringing out this curiosity and creativity.

Thank you to the families who made it to our afternoon information session today. We had 4 translators for our Hindi, Vietnamese, Arabic and Chinese community present to assist in gaining feedback on the progress of our school and future directions. It was good to see you here.
