GTCC The Minority Male Mentoring Program (3MP) is a student coaching program designed to support the educational and professional aspirations of minority male students enrolled in North Carolina community colleges.   The North Carolina Community College System's (NCCCS) 3MP was established in the fall of 2003 using 6 pilot programs.   The goals of the program are higher persistence, graduation and/or transfer rates.     W

The GTCC 3MP R.I.T.E Program is designed to challenge and reward gifted students through supportive services that promote Academic Excellence and Leadership Development.

How? 5-E’s

To Success

Is the process of implementing strategic practical approaches through

5 critical areas:

• Education

• Entrepreneurship

• Empowerment

• Experience

• Exposure

Why? Minority students are often overlooked in our preoccupation to provide resources to academically efficient students. Below average students have the potential of dropping out due to a lack of supportive services, resources, and positive influences. Students are selected based on their need and desire to succeed while monitored throughout a intensive strategic two-year program that prepares them to pursue a four year degree and to assume leadership roles in their professions and in society.
