Step inside Kluger and you’ll discover a welcoming environment where function and form blend in effortless style. This luxurious interior easily accommodates seven people in comfort and provides easy access for all onboard.

High quality finishes abound, with decorative surfaces featuring either an elegant woodgrain-look with silver-toned highlights in the Grande, or a modern silver metal-look theme in the GX and GXL models.

Beneath the instrument panel you’ll find a wide shelf providing generous storage for larger items that’s also designed to prevent the contents from slipping out. Between the front seats, the centre console still provides a comfortable armrest for the front passengers, even when the wide sliding lid is open.

The seating arrangements can also be changed quickly and configured to handle many different combinations of passengers and loads.

This abundance of versatile storage space is accessed easily through the rear door, with the added convenience of powered opening and closing on the GXL and Grande.

The interior of Kluger is packed with intelligent features and sophisticated appointments to help make every trip a pleasurable journey.

The smart entry and start system fitted to the GXL and Grande models makes it easy to get on the move, even when your keys are still in your pocket or bag. Whatever your destination, you’ll always stay cool in the GX with air conditioning featuring front and rear control with third row air vents, and in the GXL and Grande, 3-zone climate control is fitted as standard.

The front seats can be adjusted to suit your preferred seating position with lumbar adjustment (only available on GXL and Grande models) on the driver’s seat too. They are also heated in the GXL, and Grande features the cool comfort of seat ventilation.

The six speaker AM/FM CD audio system features AUX³ and USB³ input plus Bluetooth®¹ connectivity. In the GXL and Grande, this steps up to include an integrated 8" LCD screen with digital radio,⁴ while in the Grande rear passengers can enjoy Blu-ray rear seat entertainment on a 9" LCD screen, while listening on the three wireless headsets.

When out on the open road, you'll have the convenience of Active Cruise Control,² which automatically maintains a constant distance between you and the vehicle ahead. Then when parking, the reversing camera² will clearly display the location of obstacles on the LCD screen while the rear parking sensors² also provide an audible warning.

Even with all its family comforts, Kluger is blessed with plenty of performance and power. The 3.5 litre engine featuring Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) and Direct Injection (D4S) is exceptionally smooth and remarkably quiet. While you sit peacefully inside Kluger, this highly refined engine effortlessly delivers 218kW of power and a gutsy 350Nm of torque, giving all the muscle you need to handle a 2,000kg braked towing capacity⁵ with ease. And all this power is delivered through a silky smooth 8-speed automatic transmission.

On every All Wheel Drive (AWD) Kluger, the Dynamic Torque Control system automatically balances the drive force distribution between the front and rear wheels to achieve optimum grip on uneven surfaces. It also assists when cornering by balancing the drive according to your steering angle and speed, to help keep you tracking smoothly around the bend.

Pre-Collision Safety system with pedestrian detection²

Pre-Collision Safety system with pedestrian detection is a multi-stage warning system, developed to help reduce the likelihood of a frontal collision with cars and pedestrians. It includes a visible and audible alert of possible collisions, additional braking force to assist when you’re braking, and if a collision is judged to be unavoidable, automatic braking to help mitigate the impact.

Active Cruise Control2

Active Cruise Control is designed to help keep a constant distance between vehicles. It uses a milliwave radar to monitor the gap between your vehicle and the one in front, automatically accelerating or slowing down when needed to help you maintain a set distance.

Lane Departure Alert with steering assist2

Lane Departure Alert with steering assist is designed to help prevent vehicles drifting from their lane, by monitoring road markings, and providing a visible and audible alert should it detect any deviation from the lane. It may also apply additional steering force if needed, to help you stay in your lane.

Automatic High Beam2

Using a camera to sense either approaching headlights or the tail lights ahead, Automatic High Beam is designed to help you maintain safe and considerate driving by switching between high and low beam as needed.

When carrying something as precious as your family, you need the reassurance of knowing you have the latest in safety advances to protect you.

With seven SRS airbags as standard across the Kluger range, all rows of seats are protected with a combination of front seat side and two curtain airbags.

Active safety features in the range include the Pre-Collision Safety system² (PCS) that can sense obstacles on the road ahead. If a collision is possible, it will warn the driver, and if the collision is unavoidable, it is designed to activate the braking system. When changing lanes, the Blind Spot Monitor² (BSM) uses radar sensors to warn of any vehicles located in your blind spot.

As well as a 5-star ANCAP safety rating (tested 2014), you’ll also have Traction Control (TRC) to help avoid wheel spin on slippery roads or loose surfaces and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) that uses electronic sensors to help control skidding on slippery surfaces.

When it’s time to brake, you’ll have the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) to maximise braking effi ciency to the wheel(s) that need it most. Brake Assist² (BA) will also help assist the driver to apply extra brake pressure in the event of an emergency to accommodate the shortest and safest possible braking distance.
