We hike to Nuang several times every year, so there are plenty more chances to come... Please read further if you have NEVER hiked to Gunung Nuang: "Even if you're a relatively unexperienced hiker you can join us for this particular hike provided you have a good fitness level. Physical fitness is indeed a prerequisite! If you are passionate about hiking, you will be encouraged to stretch your limits and push some boundaries. Although this hike is suitable for beginnersand less experienced hikers, be honest to yourself if you don't want to come out of the jungle when darkness has already set in. Nuang is a challenge and remains a tough cookie. Please also read the Beginnershike message on the message board to avoid all misunderstandings... More experienced hikers are also welcome to join us, provided that they will support the less experienced on their way to the top. This hike will be a group effort, not a race. For this hike, we have decided to approach Gunung Nuang from the Northwest. Our trail starts in Janda Baik, which is located 280m/918ft higher than Hulu Langat/Kg Kuala Pansoon (where the trail from the South starts)." 5) Hopefully carpooling can be arranged and pick-up places will depend on the residence of the participants. "Drivers" - please fill up the forms once I have send them your way. Those who are looking for a ride have to contact a driver in their neighborhood, not the other way around! For this hike, the carpooling fee is fixed at RM15.00 per passenger. Passengers, please don't wait for your driver to ask for the fee...

Besides the classical hiking tips, please note the following gear list:

*Sense of Adventure & Discipline!

*Headlamp/Flashlight with additional batteries,

*Whistle,

*Wear shoes with profile (a pattern on the soles to preventslipping and gliding); I'm not a big fan of "Adidas Kampung", butsome people swear by them ...

*Poncho or Rain gear is recommended,

A pair of gloves doesn't weigh that much (thorns, roots, trees, mud)

Bring enough drinks and snacks (carbohydrates). For this trip 1.5liter will most probably be enough. Keep a bottle of drinks in thecar for when you return. Dried fruits are preferred overchocolate...

Leech protection will be highly recommended,

We have to cross 2 streams (one way) of max one foot deep

Bring enough drinks and snacks (carbohydrates). For this tripisotonic drinks are not a luxury. Dried fruits are preferred overchocolate... Proper nutrition will be a key to your success!

Refreshing waterfall shower might be on the programme...

please be responsible and don't litter – be sure not to leave anyrubbish along the track and on the top

*Please note of our Mandatory Hiking Gears - If you don't have -no hike.
