Hal J. Applebaum, MDDr. Applebaum was born in Miami, Florida. He has practiced Cardiology in Tampa, Florida since 1979, the same year he completed his Cardiology fellowship at the University of South Florida. Married with two children, Dr. Applebaum brings an abundance of experience and knowledge to our HeartCare team of Cardiologists. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.

Richard E. Bowerman, MDDr. Bowerman was born in Crawfordsville,

Indiana. He completed his cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital, Indiana in 1991, then continued his fellowship training

at the University of South Florida College Of Medicine in 1992. Married with two children,

Dr. Bowerman is board certified in Internal Medicine and Interventional Cardiology.

Arlene Lobo, MDDr. Lobo is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. She attended State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. She went on to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio and a cardiology fellowship at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. Dr. Lobo joined the HeartCare Institute in 2002.

Roberto P. Medina, MDDr. Medina is board certified in Internal

Medicine and Cardiology. He completed his cardiology fellowship at Hahnemann

University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a specialty in Interventional

Cardiology. He was originally born in Budapest, Hungary but raised in Argentina.

Dr. Medina has lived in the state of Florida for over 20 years. He is married and has two children in college.

Thomas W. Woodrow, MDDr. Woodrow is married with three children. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana but moved to Florida in 1974 and later completed his fellowship at the University of South Florida. Dr. Woodrow is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases.

Deborah Crutcher Collura,MS, ARNP-BC Mrs. Collura, a Florida native, is a member of the courtesy faculty at USF where she lectures for nurse practitioner students. Mrs. Collura received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of South Florida. Her medical interests include Congestive Heart Failure and Lipid Management.

George M. Scott,MSN, ARNP-BC

Mr. Scott, a retired Commander with the United States Navy, trained Navy personnel to deploy field hospitals in support of Marine

activities. A Florida native from Fort Walton Beach, he is married with two sons. Mr. Scott

speaks regionally for Lipid Drug manufacturers and nationally on behalf of

Cholesterol Management.

Laura Grace Beckstead,ARNPMrs. Beckstead received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and her Master’s degree from the University of Tampa. She is a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with medical interests in Lipid Management and Cardiovascular Disease Management.

Nuclear Stress TestNuclear Imaging is used in the evaluation of individuals with chest pain and other symptoms caused by physical exertion and in the follow-up of patients treated for hardening of the arteries with such procedures as balloon angioplasty or bypass surgery. Cardiac Care Subspecialty ClinicsAnticoagulation ClinicOffers safe and effective treatments of patients on anticoagulation. In certain patients, anticoagulation with Coumadin is necessary. The dose of this medication, unlike

Getting ResultsLaboratory ResultsOur physicians will thoroughly review the results provided by the diagnostic center before the information is released to you. In most cases, we will have the results to you within 3-5 business days of the testing. A nurse or medical assistant will contact you with your results. If you have not heard from us within 5 days, we ask that you call the office and ask to speak with a nurse about your test results.

Filling PrescriptionsIt is important to take your prescription medications regularly. Therefore, we request that you contact our office at least three days before you run out of medication. FAX or telephone the office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for prescription refills. Please provide the following information:

The fastest way to get a prescription refill is to contact your local pharmacy with your request and your physician’s name and telephone number. In certain cases, the physician will ask to see you before providing a refill.
