HOWELL HISTORY“Central Six” Howell’s First League
1927 “Central Michigan” League
1933 “Little Seven” East Lansing, Eaton Rapids, Charlotte, Grand Ledge, Hastings, Howell, Mason(later Hastings was dropped as it was too far away…)
1948 Howell joins the newly formed “Capital Circuit” league“Highlanders” officially becomes the mascot (Paul Bennett decided both)
Howell’s original colors were Green and Gold. (Gold was more like Notre Dame). Howell began using more Yellow in the early 1960’s (probably because of the popularity of the Green Bay Packers…)
1979 Howell joins the “Kensington Valley Conference”Brighton, Hartland, Howell, Lakeland, Milford, Novi, Pinckney, South Lyon

Athletics & Co-Curricular Eligibility
1. MUST maintain a 2.0 GPA
* Student MUST have earned this 2.0 GPA in the quarter or semester
immediately preceding the beginning of the sport or activity.
* GPA MUST be maintained throughout the period of continuous
involvement in the co-curricular program.
2. MUST have passed five (5) or more classes in the quarter or semester
immediately preceding the beginning of the sport or activity.
* The student must continue to pass five (or more) classes through
the period of continuous involvement in the co-curricular program.
Be sure to pay close attention to grades at the end of the year.
Summer school may be required to assure fall eligibility.
Check with the athletic department for more details.

Riding Home After a Contest
To ride home after an event with a parent or guardian, the following guidelines MUST be met:
Student-athlete MUST bring a note from a parent/guardian to ANY administrator the morning of the event.
(This will be signed during the day.)Student may pick up signed note at the end of the day.
Student may ONLY be released to their parent or guardian. We will NOT release student-athletes to ride with other parents, students, or to drive themselves.
