All our courses have been put devised and put together by practising technicians with many years experience alongside qualified teachers and trainers of the hairdressing industry.

All of our trainers have held relevant teaching qualifications and have vast experience in the hair industry.

Our trainers work as specialists in all aspects of hairdressing throughout the week in our salon’s, so we are all up to date with current styles and trends.

We are a VTCT training centre that provides learners with little or no experience with the most up to date and modern hairdressing training available.

All our trainers are qualified teachers and assessors and work in our partner specialist hair extension salon. This meaning we are on hand working with hair daily and ultimately, due to our extensive work and knowledge in hairdressing, can provide you with the most up-to-date training available.

How you will be assessed throughout the course As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that have been learned. It may be in electronic orpaper format. Your assessor will provide guidance on how to prepare the portfolio of evidence and how to show practical achievement and understanding of the knowledge required to successfully complete the qualification.

Evidence in the portfolio may take the following forms:

Observed work• Witness statements• Audio-visual media• Evidence of prior learning or attainment•

Written questions•Oral questions• Assignments•

Case studies•

All evidence should be documented in the portfolio and cross referenced to the outcomes.

Constructing the portfolio of evidence should not be left to the end of the course.

You will be assessed via written and practical assessments throughout the course. Exams will be used to ensure learning is taking place after each unit is completed.

Who is the course for?The FAST TRACK course is aimed at those who wish to become a fully qualified hairdresser in a short amount of time. This course is for anyone above 16 who wants to start a successful career in Hairdressing. Whether you have just left school, or you want a complete career change, this course is for you. It is delivered via an intense and compact, easy to follow course. This course includes all units up to NVQ standards with our specialist added units that we believe every hairdresser needs to become a successful hairdresser in our modern-day salons

Where does my hairdressing training take lace?The hairdressing training will take place at our Bolton Academy - 542A Chorley Old road, Bolton, BL1 6AB. We have a Manchester academy opening In the new year of 2019 where we will be running these courses there to accommodate all of our far travelling students.

How long is the FAST TRACK course?6 Months

How many days per week will I need to be at the training centre?For our day courses you will be required to attend the training academy two days per week. Monday 9-5pmTuesday 9-5pm

Our night courses Monday 6-9pmTuesday 6-9pm

Level 3Tuesdays and Wednesdays 5-9pm

Who teaches the hairdressing courses?All our courses are taught by industry professionals that work in top salons throughout the week, this meaning we are on hand with hair styling, cutting and advanced colouring on a daily basis and ultimately, due to our extensive work and knowledge in hairdressing we can provide you with the most up-to-date training available! All tutors are fully qualified teachers and assessors with masses of experience.

Why would I choose this course over a college course?This course would benefit anyone who didn't have the time to go on a college course that lasts up to 2 years to complete, 3 if your doing your level three too.

The Hairology Training Academy is now a VTCT training academy offering world class qualifications in Hairdressing. We aim to provide learners with a modern and fresh approach to hairdressing.

With having extensive knowledge in hairdressing education and owning salons we realised that most trainees that have been sent from original colleges come back to us with little or no practical ability. This has encouraged us into changing hairdressing courses to suit the demands of current trends and salons.

All learners who undertake our NVQ courses will leave our training centre salon ready! Completing every aspect of hairdressing to NVQ standard with our added extras, that we believe are important to gaining a successful career in hairdressing.

The courses will include all standard NVQ syllabus with our specialised units e.g. curly blow training, balayage training, social media training and much more!

Our courses will give learners and anyone wanting to make it in the hairdressing industry the best and most current training available. All courses are tailor made to meet the standard that we obtain in our own salons.

Our class sizes are much smaller than any other college provider to ensure we can guarantee the care and attention each learner needs, giving students a much more comfortable learning journey. You will be Working with professional teaching staff from within the industry to help give relevant advice and guidance.

Our modern and fresh approach to learning will hopefully give the success to each one of our learners in their chosen career.

Do we get any salon experience with the course?YES! We have very own salon located next to the training academy where we invite all our students to go and shadow our salon stylists to get a realistic approach to hairdressing. By the end of your course we will hope to have you working in the salon with our stylists learning to run a full column of clients correctly.

Q & A

Do we need to bring models to work on?We encourage our students to bring their own models and you will need to assist us with models to gain your NVQ however we also provide models for most of your course.

Can I apply for jobs after my level 2?Yes. All of our NVQ certified courses result in a nationally recognised, government body award. These certificates will be what your future employer's request to see.

Your level 2 will qualify you as a hairdresser.

Your level 3 is more advanced techniques and most employers want stylist with both their level 2 & 3 qualification.

Qualified hairdressers have many career opportunities. After attending the Hairology Training Academy our students can go on to working within salons, TV and theatre, working for hair product manufacturers such as Matrix, train to be a hair loss consultant, teaching, management, sales, cruise-ships and of course opening their own salon's.

How many students do you have in a class?We have up to 6 students per class. Most colleges have around 20-30 students in a class at one time.

I can not recommend Danielle and her staff at Hairology enough for teaching me and training me to do a variety of different hair extension methods.

We prefer our students to have A-C GCSE English and Maths grades however these are not always necessary. Also, if you have any industry experience this could work in your favour if you have done work experience in a salon or have part-time / Saturday work in a salon already.
