Introduction to Christian Meditation In this time of isolation and stillness you might like to engage with an ancient practice of Christian Meditation to help keep you grounded in God. Dugald Wilson is offering a six week introduction to this practice. You will need to commit to a regular practice of daily meditation, with a weekly group link up via Zoom on Wednesdays at 7.30pm for some basic teaching and a group meditation together. We will be using the meditation practice offered by the World Community for Christian Meditation – see wccm.org This practice involves sitting in stillness and focusing your being using a mantra. It is a practice that was used by early Christians, and is finding renewed interest as science tells us meditation is good for us. It reduces anxiety, releases healing power, and allows God to transform us from deep within. In an age where much Christian prayer seems to be about getting God to do things for us, this form of prayer makes space for God to do things within us. If you would like to know more or would like to join the introduction course please contact Dugald Wilson – [email protected] you are interested but nervous about zoom, be brave. The way zoom works is Dugald will send an email with a link in it. You click on the link, take the time to download zoom, if it is not on your computer, and then get accepted into the meeting. Very simple. Usually we use video and audio using a built-in camera and microphone on most computers. But we can work on audio only. It very soon becomes very relaxed and simple. And those of us locally who have used zoom can talk you through it the first time or two.

These are some of Brian Glassey’s show flowers, (Chrysanthemum’s) that he would have been showing all over the country if we weren’t in lockdown. As Brian is my Dad and

is in my bubble, I was lucky enough to capture these pictures while visiting him last weekend. He asked me to take photos to share with people, and I thought they might brighten up your day, hope you enjoy, Janet
