GROW BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS WITH NEW JUNO STUDENT REEDS MADE BY VANDORENJuno is the first reed made specifically for beginning students. Using Vandoren cane and manufactured in the same facility as all Vandoren reeds, JUNO is a new cut that makes the first notes easy and beautiful.

Students will experience success from the start. Your students will have success from day one. Having immediate success will encourage them to stay in your program.

You can teach tone and balance from the beginning! It’s pretty exciting to start developing your section sound from the first day your students play. It happens with JUNO.

Your parents will love them too! Who wouldn’t want a child who was excited with immediate success! Parents will also love that each reed is individually wrapped for performance and cleanliness. And the cost of JUNO reeds is the same or lower than other entry-level reeds!

The music of Charles Mingus is filled with the roots of jazz and blues, complex rhythms and powerful melodies. Six of Atlantic Canada’s most in demand jazz musicians join together to pay tribute to ‘The Music of Charlie Mingus”. The group consists of Dave Staples (piano), Chris Mitchell (saxes), Paul Tynan

(trumpet), Danny Martin (trombone), Tom Roach (drums) and Tom Easley (bass). The Mingus Project was started 5 years ago and has been featured at The Halifax Jazz Festival and various concert series in NS. The group is excited to get together again this fall to pay homage to the music of Charles Mingus on the same week that he would have turned 95.

The Mingus ProjectCampbell Ryga is a 3-time Juno Award-winner, a Grammy nominee, and has twice received Western Canadian Music Awards for his jazz albums. He appeared on Michael Bublé’s recording Crazy Love, which won a Grammy in 2010. He has contributed to 72 jazz recordings, including four as band leader, tours

internationally, and has performed four week-long engagements at the famed Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in SoHo, London. Campbell is a founding member of the internationally-acclaimed Hugh Fraser Quintet, an all-star award winning Canadian jazz ensemble. He also maintains a busy schedule as a clinician and adjudicator, and has sat on jury boards for the British Columbia Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts. In 2000, Campbell was named Canada’s Alto Saxophonist of the Year by Jazz Report Magazine. In 2010 he was inducted to the Envisions Jazz Festival Hall of Fame.
