1. Indoor Project

Don’t you just love the phrase…

“One Person’s Trash is Another’s Person’s Treasure!”

Well here’s a real life example of how people can look at the same thing differently. If you’re working on a tight budget but have the need to fill up an empty corner of your house with some complementary decoration, check out our find! For less than a total of $10.00 you can put together something that looks like it came out of a magazine.

This is what we were able to start with as the neighbor tossed this pink tree out because it didn’t “work” for them anymore. We gave it a second lease on life and used this as our base. Price tag $0.00.

We then added three stocks of decorative grass from the local “Dollar Store” to add around the base. A buck a piece for a total of $3.00 so far…

Here are a couple of other filler’s to add to the decorative corner. Both of these plants started as clippings that were taken from larger plants we owned and transplanted into pots/planters we had in the garage.

So I can say except for our time to transfer the clippings, these plants didn’t cost anything. The ferns and philodendrons are hearty plants and are very easy to transplant. They just need enough water and some TLC.

We’ve added a couple of more items picked-up from a “Dollar Store” and Saturday’s local “Yard Sale” to go with the color scheme. Total cost $5.50. (We’re up to $8.50 so far!)

Finally when you step back, we think you’ll be quite proud of the eye-catching collection of vibrant colors you’ve assembled to brighten up your home. (You’ll make your pocket-book smile as well!)

Happy Hunting & Decorating!!
