We are pleased to release our 31st Monthly Newsletter for January 2012. We hope this news

letter will be interesting and informative to you all. You might be aware that during December

2011 last body of memon jamat completed 2 yearsTerm which was dissolved in a meeting of the

board on 3rd December 2011. With the decision of majority an election was announced to elect

office bearers for the term of 2 years 2012-2013. An election committee was formed and

assigned to hold election of office bearers of memon jamat. The committee did a good job of

fulfilling their responsibility successfully. A self explanatory circular of Election Committee is

placed on the next page for your information.

However, on the advent of New Year of 2012, We on behalf of Memnon Jamat take the

opportunity to express our best wishes to our entire community. May this New Year bring peace

& prosperity throughout globe in general and in Muslim Ummah in Particular, A’ameen.

We are thankful to the members of our community of different parts of the world who have sent

to us Season and New Year Greetings by emails as well as by telephone & SMS. We also

appreciate community brothers who have shown their interest in writing to us their valuable

views and suggestions that are very useful for future guidance. We sincerely apologize in

C I R C U L A R TO THE COMMUNITY From Election Committee

We the under named at the bottom of the page were appointed as members of the Election Committee by the outgoing Managing Committee in their meeting held on 3 Dec.2011. Our mandate was to hold the election for the new office bearers to run the affairs of Memon Jamat Saudi Arabia (MASA) for the next two years 2012 and 2013. The Managing Committee also in their meeting voted in favour of holding the election on panel basis. We are pleased to inform you that the committee met on 7 Dec.2011 to discuss the schedule of MASA's election and agreed to announced the election and ask for nominations. The announcement was made on 10 Dec.2011 requesting interested contestants to form their panels and submit their list of names with the designated positions in one week. In response to our announcement, we received nomination from only one panel within the time limit. Candidates' scrutiny and eligibility was done and the Committee found one nominated official was ineligible. The panel replaced him with another eligible candidate and by virtue of it being the sole contesting panel, the Committee is pleased to declared it ELECTED unopposed. The unopposed elected members of the panel for 2012-2013 are as follows:

Newly Elected Office Bearers’ Response to Election Committee Circular Thanks to the Election Committee for announcing the official result of Election of office bearers of Memon Jamat for 2012 & 2013. We, newly elected Office Bearers would like to express our heartiest thanks to the community for having us elected unopposed which shows trust and confidence in the new elected body. Indeed our team consists of experienced and self less social worker who will prove to be capable of shouldering the responsibilities to manage and lead memon jamat toward right direction and serve the community with dedication by means of social & welfare programs. While taking over the charge of our office for 2011-2013, we should not deny & forget the accomplishment of the last body of Memon Jamat (2010 & 2011) under the Presidency of Dr. Iqbal Mussani, which contributed maximum efforts to provide stability to the Jamat and played an outstanding role by bringing most of the families of our community in Saudi Arabia closer to each other. The last president Dr. Iqbal Musani and his team deserve congratulation for leading memon jamat for last two years successfully. However, we shall be announcing our social and welfare programs from time to time and those programs cannot attain success without cooperation of the community. We shall welcome those younger and elders who wish to join us for a noble quest to serve the community with sincerity and honesty. To cut it in short, we shall always keep the following quote in view:

"People may not always believe what you say, but they will believe what you do". We assure our community that we shall do our best to undertake the honorary responsibilities to the best of our ability and enthusiastically. This is a big achievement and significant role of Memon Jamat, that most of our families

residing in Saudi Arabia have started knowing each other who did not know before inception

& smooth & peaceful operation of the existing Jamat. We applaud the cooperation &

patronage of our community brothers which hopefully will be continued in the future.

In accordance with the suggestions that we received in the last family event, we are studying

feasibility of forming “Youth Wing” as well as “Ladies Wing” that may assist & help

Memon Jamat in materializing various welfare projects and programs.

Accordingly, newly elected body is seriously thinking of setting up net work of various

committees so as to provide community with social & welfare services easily. Such as

Education Committee, Health Care Assistance committee, Coffin & Burial Assistance

Committee, Funds collection Committee, Event Management Committee, Ladies Wing

consisting of Senior & junior Ladies, Male Youth Wing, Specific project or program

committee etc. Also Zonal Committees to be set up initially for Makkah, Madina, Riyadh

and Dammam as there is demand of MASA activities in the community families residing in

those areas.

THE HYPOCRITES

THIS IS TRUE. The hypocrite goes out claiming that he is with both parties. He shows a false belief and friendship to both sides. And, this makes him to be an insincere believer or friend to either side. When a believer comes in saying that he believes; and then goes out saying he disbelieves, then he lied at first and he lies going out. This is why a hypocrite cannot be accepted by anyone as being sincere. After you have accepted the truth and declared it to be the truth, if you who come over to follow me to Allah turn your backs on the Truth, we have it in black and white that you declare yourself to be a believer in Allah and His Messages, and His Messenger.

A person who seeks to please everybody even if it demands his cheating, lying or stealing. Allah says in this regard in Sura Al-Munafiqun:

When the hypocrites come to thee, they say, 'We bear witness that thou art indeed the Apostle of God.' Yea, God knoweth that thou art indeed His Apostle, and God beareth witness that the hypocrites are indeed liars. (63:1) These situations, factors and prerequisites may lead a person to be a hypocrite. The only way to cure this disease from people is that they should have faith in Allah, in His Messenger, Muhammad (pbuh), in the Day of Judgment and in the teachings of Islam. Even if he/she has a weak faith, he should try his/her best to strengthen it, and to enrich it daily. Therefore, it is a matter of having faith (Iman) or having no faith. Nifaq, hence is noticed and observed in those societies, in those families, and those individuals who, either have no faith, or who are weak in their faith. The signs of a hypocrite are many among which are the following three signs: 1. He lies whenever he talks. 2. He does not fulfill his commitment. 3. He betrays the trust that he takes. In this regard Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said (Reported by Abu Hurayrah): The signs of a hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies; when he gives an agreement, he does not fulfill his commitment; and when he is entrusted, he betrays the trust. For this reason Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) informed us that a hypocrite is a mischievous person. He said: (Reported by Abu Hurayrah) You will find that the worst person is double-faced; he meets one group of people with one side of his face, while another with the other side. Since this vice is most hated by Allah and His Messenger, and since the penalty is very heavy, may I request you to kindly check upon yourselves. Check your Iman, your personality, your character,

your manners, your behavior and your daily activities. Then try to find out whether you are acting like a real Muslim or Not. If you do not act immediately, remember that life is short, and who knows for how long you are to live! Death may be as close to us as a twinkling of an eye. Hence, we should be prepared to face Allah Almighty with happiness and not with sorrows or sadness. May Almighty Allah bless us all. Ameen

Health is Wealth Money matters. Since time immemorial, mankind has always strived to find money sources. Even inthe ancient times, money makes and unmakes people. There are many stories of treasure hunts andeven up to the current generation, myths about hidden treasures all around the world still circulate.

Mankind has really put greater value on wealth among all other things in the world. Unfortunately,wealth is hard to catch. People know that wealth is something they must work hard for. As peoplestrived harder to amass wealth, there came a new concept about the real value of the word.

Health is wealth. Such is a simple sentence but its sense and meaning is so tremendous and deep.Through the years, in all societies around the world, health has become synonymous and equivalent to the value of wealth.

There is syllogism and analogy between the two different concepts. Health is as valuable as money.That is because without it, you surely would not enjoy anything in life. You would not be able toappreciate the beauty of each day and live up to acknowledge the joys that come to even thesimplest encounters with family and friends.

Without health, people would not be able to work productively. Thus, there would be little chancesand opportunities for earning and doing jobs. People need to work to be able to generate income. But one cannot work if he is ill and is incapable to do physical activities. Even office jobs entail goodhealth of employees because through experiences and history, people have determined that withoutgood physical condition, the mental state would also be affected.

How to have good health

You need to do measures to attain good and lasting health. Doing so would enable you maximizeyour body's capacity and you could take as much opportunities to earn more and live better. Here are some simple, yet effective guidelines that would help you attain and maintain good health.

1. Live a good and healthy lifestyle. Most jobs today entail stationary lifestyles: workers arerequired to sit down in front of computers the whole day. Many executives stay inside the premises of the office sitting around while attending meetings and doing paper works. It is logicalthat many workers nowadays do not get enough physical exercise. Thus, many tend to becomeobese, hypertensive and weak. Go to the gym at least every other day and work out so that youcould sweat all your fats and cholesterol accumulation all out.

2. Eat nutritious and a balanced diet. There are so many processed food available in the market.Fast food chains are also immensely popular. However, if you loyally and regularly patronize suchfoods, you would get bloated. That is because it has been found that processed and fast foodsare the main culprits for obesity cases because of their fat content. Eat more fruits andvegetables, avoid lard and fatty foods and prefer healthy foods.

3. Quit unhealthy vices and habits. Smoking is the top bad habit. Time and again, health regulatorshave always warned about the dangers of smoking. Aside from causing ling cancer, the habit isalso cited for several severe medical cases like bronchitis, cough, asthma and even early onset ofaging. Drinking too much alcoholic beverages is equally bad as well as substance abuse.
