8th GRADE CORNERIt's Happening!!It's Happening!!Work on the Class of 2019 Legacy Project Class of 2019 Legacy Project will begin after Christmas! ThePTSA 8th Grade Committee reached out to Jared Dorsey and Sherryared Dorsey and SherryPerri of Everything OutdoorsPerri of Everything Outdoors and they have generously offered to designand construct the Legacy patio projectLegacy patio project. They found a way to work with thefunds the 8th Graders have raised and more than double it by donating freedonating freelabor and materials at costlabor and materials at cost. Absolutely amazing generosity.

December has been busy for Coleman's 8th graders with their dress up day,"BE A STANDOUT/ HUMAN HIGHLIGHTER"! Our 8th Graders wereOur 8th Graders wereencouraged to become Human Highlighters and dress in Neon Colorencouraged to become Human Highlighters and dress in Neon Colorclothing.clothing. The brighter the better. This is to encourage them to think abouthow they can "stand out" in their academics and special interests, as well as intheir communities. Participants received neon colored pencils and Sour Patchcandy canes for "standing out."
8th Grade also sponsored a Skate Party at United Skates of America. This easyand fun fundraiser for their class raised over $500! The snowball fight was agreat way to end the night. Thank you to all the students and parents whoparticipated! The 8th Grade Legacy Fund has raised over $3000 so far!

Old maps, Wrapping Paper, Wall Paper, Greeting Cards, Post Cards,Travel Brochures, Garden Seed Packages, Fabric, Sheet Music,Magazines, Tissue Paper, Interesting papers, Lost and lonely scrabblepieces, earrings, buttons, fake flowers...
These will be used for various art projects, such as decoupage!

SGA DANCECongratulations to the Coleman Student Government Association for
a successful dance on December 7th! The event raised $771 to donate to St.Joseph's Children's Hospital.
PTSA MINI-GRANTSPTSA Mini-grants are voted upon by the PTSA board at the monthly PTSABoard meetings. These grants, made possible Coleman's generous businessand family partnerships, provide the education and training opportunities notavailable in the school or district budget.
The following Mini-grant was awarded for the month of December:
1. $252.89 for 11 drawing pads (11 x $22.99) for Mr. Arnold to helpstudents with animation in computer science class in a format lesscumbersome than a computer mouse. Serves 150 students.

Coleman PTSA Student Board's new club forColeman students of military families (currentand retired) held its first meeting lastWednesday. The Camo Cobras will bemeeting weekly in Ms. Hobson's room tosupport this unique student population
academically and emotionally, connectingthem with other students, their campus andcommunity.
