Our Story
hatched, the name of our furniture company nods to the exciting moment we launched our collaborative efforts in furniture design. We draw inspiration from contemporary art, traditional craftsmanship, and the sentiment loaded in the word home. From a family of designers, architects, artists and builders, Brandon utilizes his experiences from the restoration of historic homes to designing and building furniture. Debra brings her experience and education in contemporary art to the design of each piece. Educated at Sotheby’s in London, she currently is the Director of an established New York City art gallery.

Here is how it works:
You choose a design and we build it at 50% off retail. These are five designs we’ve decided to include in our Hatched Furniture line in 2012. We draw from Mid-century modern curvilinear forms and use finishes that communicate warmth and sophistication. We build in house and use traditional joinery to create heirloom quality pieces. And we’d like the first off the workbench to go to your clients! Only one of each design is available at this price. First come first serve.

We sit and sketch thinking of how a piece will compliment a room both aesthetically and practically. We work through sketches until we come upon a form that has a certain appeal; a personality that is not confrontational but communicates comfort, sophistication and a touch of luxe. Then we tweak the drawings in the rendering phase, where we also design how the piece will be built, until it is just right from all angles.
Each piece is handcrafted using traditional methods of joinery to assure heirloom quality. We want the furniture to be contemporary but to be for many years to come. And that takes old fashioned craftsmanship. No shortcuts. All joinery is gauranteed for life.
