Thisnew role allows her to be athome with Libby and Lorenwhile Matt travels. Thoughleaving Casa de Fe was sad andhard, God has given us thisunique opportunity to use ourskills in new ways. We arethankful and excited.For the last two years, we haveprayed, nonstop, about whatGod wants for us after wefinish our two- year servicecommitment with CornerStoneInternational. Greetings from Shell, Ecuador!It has been a long time sinceweve written a newsletter.We apologize. We can hardlybelieve that we have servedhere for nearly two years.A lot has changed and we haveexciting news to share.

Last year at Casa de Fe...

We got to know 32 workteams from all over theworld.

We loved on 80+ children asCasa cared for more childrenthan ever before.

We worked alongsideamazing missionaries, fromonly a week to the wholeyear.

Our relationships withcaregivers and workers werea daily blessing whichoffered many opportunitiesto show and experienceChrist's love.

Matt worked to make Casa'sfinances transparent andonline.

Christy put a safety programfor kids in place and hiringand retention processes for

employees.

We were excitedto create new,collaborative rela-tionships with manyEcuadorian govern-ment agencies.

We were blessedto see spiritualgrowth in all of ourlives.

With all of those beautifulmoments, there were difficul-ties and challenges. Wediffered with Casas leadershipon the handling of employeesand children, finances andmultiple other concerns. InOctober, Matt and I resignedfrom Casa de Fe as did manyof the missionaries servingthere. We made this decisionwith the help, prayers andcounsel of our mission agency,CornerStone International, arepresentative of PeacemakersInternational and a counselorfrom Barnabas International. Inorder to make the transition assmooth as possible, we stayedat Casa de Fe until Decemberto train our replacements anddo what we could to help.We planned to return to theU.S. for Christmas and yet didnot feel that our calling inEcuador was finished. The dayafter we resigned, representa-tives of Reach Beyond cameand asked us to pray aboutstaying and working with them.After much prayer, Matt and Iapplied with Reach Beyond(https://reachbeyond.org/) andarranged with CornerStoneInternational to be secondedmissionaries, under bothagencies. We began our newroles and ministry in January.CornerStone will continue toreceive funds for us as we workalongside Reach Beyond inShell.Matt is now working in theCommunity DevelopmentDepartment of Reach Beyond,
