You, Our Clients and Us - Building Resilience TogetherYou know how tough life can be sometimes. All of us suffer. No one is immune to pain.

Isn’t it reassuring when you don’t have to suffer alone?

Isn’t it wonderful when someone walks with you through the pain until you come out on the other side, stronger than you knew you were?

Thank you for being that someone. For our counseling clients. For teens at risk of suicide. For families seeking wholeness.

You build resilience. You comfort the suffering. You alleviate pain.

Thank you for your support. You’ve helped thousands of people through tough and trying times in 2015!

Counseling by the Numbers Mental Health Ministry Initiative GrowsSamaritan and NAMI Fox Valley built upon our collaborative Mental Health Ministry Initiative in 2015. Focus groups in the Fox Cities, Oshkosh and New London explored faith community needs around mental health. Findings showed many faith leaders are eager to minister better to those with mental health needs.

A planning grant from the Basic Needs Giving Partnership Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, supported by the J. J. Keller Foundation, and U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs and other community partners, made this work possible. The initiative continues in 2016 with an ongoing series of mental health workshops for faith leaders.

Your Investment, Yielding ResultsSamaritan clients get excellent care. Data proves it.

Like hundreds of other agencies across the country, we use a tool called ACORN to measure our clients’ mental state before each counseling session. Results show that 78 percent of our 2015 clients improved. That compares to 68 percent of all other agencies’ clients.

“Thank you very much for this

screening program! It was there

for our child on his terms when

he was ready to ask for help. We

are very proud of him for the

progress he has made and feel we

have our child back.”

With your 2015 support of Samaritan, you gave children and teens in eight school systems access to mental health check-ups through two programs aimed at suicide prevention.

This Samaritan program provides emotional wellness check-ups for middle and high school students right at school. Check-ups look for mental health symptoms associated with increased suicide risk. Students at risk get connected to professional counseling in the community.

E3 is an innovative K-12 mental health program – a collabortaion of Samaritan, Catalpa Health, Family Services and NAMI Fox Valley – serving the Hortonville Area School District. E3 educates students about mental health and provides emotional wellness check-ups and mental health counseling right at school. Samaritan’s role: to provide check-ups and case management.
