MechoShades ® meet the chal-

lenge of dynamic glass design to

improve healthcare environments

with optimum solar protection,

greater use of natural light, lower

energy consumption and mainte-

nance of those vitally important

outdoor views so beneficial to

patient well-being.

Healing Environments

It has been documented that a

view through a window may

influence recovery from surgery*.

In fact patients with a tree view

had shorter postoperative hospital

stays, fewer negative evaluative

comments from nurses, fewer

analgesic doses, and had lower

scores for minor post surgical

complications.

MechoShades, with ThermoVeil ®

shadecloths, help patients take

advantage of the therapeutic

value of controlled natural light

and views to the outside.

ThermoVeil provides a significant

reduction in solar heat gain, and

allows excellent control of glare in

the upper portion of the window,

while allowing view and natural

light in the lower portion of the

window.

Privacy,yet a sense

of light and dayThermoVeil 3000 Series translu-

cent shadecloths, winner of the

Nightingale Award, can avoid

problems of sensory depravation

caused by blackout conditions

during daylight hours.Thus

patients adjust more quickly to

their diurnal rythms and sleep

(and heal) better during the

evening hours.The 3000 and

0900 Series allow a sense of

diffuse light during the day, while

allowing privacy at night.

Patient Control

Patient focused design calls forthe patient to have a high degree

of involvement in their care.This

includes control over their envi-

ronment. MechoShade has

designed the Bed Interface Unit

which allows the patient the ability

to operate ElectroShades ®

from

their bedside without assistance.

Its simple one button design,

enhancement to patient empow-

erment, and its ability work within

the wiring of a major hospital bed

manufacturer made it a

Nightingale Award winner. And,

our manual MechoShades offer a

Lift-Assist Mechanism for patients

with limited grip strength.

Anti-bacterial and

low maintenance

ThermoVeil shadecloth’s anti-

microbial properties do not

support the growth of microrgan-

isms such as Staph, Fungus or

Mildew.And, in testing by inde-

pendent labatories, you get a

shadecloth that is flame retardant,

less toxic than burning wood,

wool or cotton and has no mea-

surable VOC’s.

MechoShade’s proprietary hard-ware components are simplistic,

yet heavy duty in design.

ThermoVeil shade-cloths can be

removed for cleaning, mainte-

nance and sanitation, via our

SnapLoc ®  spline, without

demounting tube or brackets.

Silver nitrate stains and blood

stains are washable.

Control Systems

ElectroShades are available with

several types of optional control

systems ranging from mid

window alignment management

systems to computerized solar

tracking systems for building

management.

10 Year Warranty

Ten-year warranty on manually-

operated components, except

the bead chain which is a main-

tenance service item. Ten-year

warranty on the shadecloth with

the provision that it will not

deteriorate, sag, or warp a

remain fit for use for the ful

ranty period.

Five year war-

ranty on all

motors and

electrical equip-

ment.
