Remember; you are somebody! You were somebody when you came to my class and you are a better somebody now. You are powerful and strong. You deserve the education that you get in life; you have places to go, things to do, and people to impress. May you always be blessed!!

Sincerely, Ms. Jolie Ducey

Today I wish for you all of the happiness that you are so deserving of. I wish that all of your dreams will be fulfilled and that sunshine and laughter will follow you wherever you go. I wish you smiles, new adventures, new friends and success in everything you do. I wish the best of everything to match the best of you. One more wish I have, more for me than for you, is that I wish I could be there with you, to see all these wishes come true.

With the weather being so unpredictable lately, the sky shines with color. Each night when the sun goes down, if it's just rained, the highlights on the clouds are so beautiful. The photo was taken after a recent storm and pink clouds and blue sky are vibrant against the dark tree line.

Today, although this weather is not so good, I want color to bring joy in my life. I decided, then, with the help of my mom, to wear this outfit that's really colorful and very easy. The blouse from CDEC by Cordelia de Castellane is from last year and immediately makes you feel joyful. The skirt from Okaidi is in a really intense color. My fabulous Naturinos added that little bit of modern and super chic. I love it and I love the colors!

HAVE A SPECIAL DAY - Fiammetta

Why is style important?Style is not about fashion. It’s about expressing yourself and being comfortable with who you are. Style is also about fun and confidence. When we have confidence, we feel good, carry ourselves proudly, and want to look our best. Style makes all of this possible.

How long have you been doing this, and how did you become a style expert? It all began in fourth grade. My best friend had to change schools, and we wanted to make sure she made a great first impression. I edited her closet, getting rid of all things childish and not fitting for a cool fourth grader. Together, we planned the outfits she would wear during her first week at a new school.

My passion for helping people feel great about their style led me to a career as a retail merchandiser and sales representative for a large footwear and apparel company. It was not until my Dad promised to give my Mom $500 to go shopping if I would edit her closet that I realized I could help women everywhere achieve simple and effortless style.

I created Style with Lee to show women that great style isn’t about being egotistical; it’s about achieving the confidence and happiness you deserve. The right clothes can make you feel invincible, giving you the confidence to accomplish anything you desire. I am committed to helping women feel more confident through the development of personal style. I have worked with countless individual clients, helped corporations upgrade their employees’ images, and have spoken in front of groups teaching people how to achieve the style they want.

Hobo Burger Foil Pack Chicken & Veggies Foil Pack

Photo from: Hamburgers in Foil Images online Photo from: All Recipes.com

Are you ready for a summer camping trip and looking for some easy meals? I’ve heard about Hobo Packets or Hobo Camp Burgers for years and even made some in the past. Maybe it was from my Girl Scouting years, but I read on several sites the Boy Scouts were taught to make these for camping trips. I also found a site from the Greater Los Angeles Girl Scout with camp recipes that include the burger foil pack meal and a wide variety of other tasty camp meals. These foil dinners are so easy and can be cooked on the coals of your campfire, the barbeque grill, or in the oven. At camp, you can eat the meals right out of the foil, so you don’t need a paper plate. There are also foil pack meals for other meats, vegetables, and even for breakfast. You can form the burgers, prep the chicken or other meats, and prep the veggies at home before leaving for camp. Then you can make the packets and keep them in the cooler, or let each camper add other ingredients they like before cooking. The Boy & Girl Scouts use a marker to write the name of each person on their meal.

Various recipes differ. While some suggest one layer of heavy duty foil, others specify two. And some say to turn them over after 10 minutes on the coals, but others say to just rotate them so they cook more evenly. For further foil pack meals, check out the internet. There are so many interesting recipes it’s hard to choose!

Q: What helps make a successful person?A: Believe That You Can

The Purpose of life... is living a life of purpose. God is the giver of dreams. He is looking for people to whom He can transfer His passion and dreams. He uses dreams to help us discover our purpose in life. Successful people are dreamers. Your dreams will carry you through the hard times in life. You must believe that you can accomplish your dreams!

Average people can only see the immediate surroundings and complain. Successful dreamers can see beyond the current situation. They know, "Where I am right now is not where I am going." They create a vision in their minds of what will be. Make sure you write your dream down and keep it in front of you. Please know that every successful person has gone through a period of setbacks and discouragement. With your dream in front of you, it is important to surround yourself with other positive dreamers so you can encourage each other!

ACTION: Important people do important things! Believe that you can. Build that business, get that degree, launch that ministry, birth that dream! If you can believe it, you can be it!

I was asked to review a new show by Sesame Street called Monster Manners. My kids are eight and older, so I wasn't sure if the show would hold their attention, but I was pleasantly surprised. My daughter loved watching the show and her 10 year old brother thought it was funny. As a parent I enjoyed the simple lessons they shared. Cookie Monster shows us table manners, Elmo learns to share, and Rosita learns about no pushing. There was several songs and one that my kids made their older brother watch was Cookie Monster singing, Me want it. Then while we were in town we found the video on YouTube and they had their dad watch the funny remix too.

Our granddaughter in Florida Skyped us the other day. We talked about the goings-on with her and the family, then she showed me the yearbook from her elementary school. I came up with the idea of starting a summer journal/scrapbook. For several years, I’ve been thinking of school and life scrapbooks for the grandkids as I see them reach personal milestones and receive certificates, letters, awards, and notices of important events in their lives. Older kids might just want to add a few captions and notes around important pictures, certificates, and memorabilia. Kids could do their own scrapbook and/or the families could work on one together. Tips, quotes, and downloadable templates are online and you can even dress up the pages with stickers and other accessories from Michaels, JoAnn’s, or other sources.

What you put into the scrapbook is entirely up to you and your family---day trips, vacations, visits with friends and family, camps, birthdays, miniature golf, the beach, sports, and keepsakes---the possibilities are endless. A scrapbook is a good way to save favorite memories and keepsakes you will always treasure. And journaling is a good way for kids to keep up their writing skills. For you techies out there, online sites such as Smilebox allow you to make and print, post, or email your scrapbook (with music); but I think there may be a cost. I know I’ve saved plenty of keepsakes---maybe I’ll do a scrapbook, as well.

7 Tips to Make Your Own Scrapbook:

1. Get supplies together:k Books can be purchased scrapbooks, photo albums with insertable

slots, 3-ring binders, spiral notebooks, or even construction paper.

k Paper for the pages (plastic photo page sleeves and paper pages would work in a 3-ring binder).

k Scissors, markers, pens, pencils, glue stick, etc.k Adhesive corners for photos.k Embellishments such as stickers and decorative pieces you can

glue on.

2. Divide photos and keepsakes (usually chronologically) into various related sections.

3. Keep in mind what type of captions and journaling notes you will use and leave room for them. Write captions on the pages or cut out some you’ve printed on the computer.

4. Lay out keepsakes, photos, journaling, captions, etc., on the page before you glue.

5. Glue items down and add photos. You can use colored or printed backgrounds or frames, printed sayings, stickers, and more.

6. Design and decorate the cover.

7. Enjoy your memories for years to come!

My nephew Austin continues to go through physical therapy and learn things that six year old boys should know. I love all the recent summer adventures he has taken. In Alaska, they do a lot of hunting and fishing, so he went to Cabella's with his dad for Father's Day.

Austin had his first day of summer school at Shaw Elementary. He got to go out to the playground and use the wheelchair swing. It was awesome---he loved it and kept saying, "Go higher!"

Life Tip from Dr. Suzanne Ervin, Ph.D. Build your agenda around prayer time.Make it a priority of your everyday life. You will be amazed at the power of keeping your daily appointment with God. Setting a prayer time is one of the great secrets in the lives of prayer champions. - Mike Murdock

As per my sister-in-law, Tina, Austin has been spending time with family and friends. They drove to Matanuska Glacier ,one of Austin's favorite spots. He's been on this glacier, every year since he was born. It was a very beautiful day. On the way they saw a moose swimming in the lake. They headed over to Long Rifle Lodge, which overlooks the glacier, and got a bite to eat. This is a MUST for anyone that would love to walk, hike on a glacier, or just hang out at the picnic tables. Austin will do everything and anything just like before, but in a different way.

And his latest adventure was going Halibut fishing with Crazy Ray's Adventures in Whittier.

Have you ever taken an online class? Sometimes we have a real desire to learn a new craft or hobby, but aren't able to attend a class locally. Now, with the convenience of the computer, you can take so many classes online. There is a company called Skillshare that offers a free trial to see if you like taking classes online. You can learn photography, art, and so many other things. Udemy is another organization where instructors create online courses and you take a series of video classes to learn a new trade. If you want Harvard on your resume, you can always register for one of their online courses at Harvard.edu. Creative Live is another program that broadcasts live courses 24/7.

On the CreativeLive.com website they have listed their best selling courses to give you an idea of what they have to offer.

Another source I use often to learn DIYs is YouTube. You can just type in what you'd like to create or learn and someone might have a free video that you can watch. I recently learned how to make giant flowers using colored tissue paper. The video showed the steps and the results were beautiful, a perfect addition to my present wrapping.

JENStar Media will begin offering a one month online Social Media class. Four weeks filled with actionable tasks to get your business started with a strong media presence. Be sure and check out the course and register if you'd like to increase your social media exposure.

A great many people, and more all the time, live their entire lives without ever once sleeping out under the stars. Alan S. Kesselheim, Let Them Paddle: Coming of Age on the Water

In today’s fast-paced life of long commutes, days filled with work, car pools, and family activities; the human soul craves a slower, more relaxing time. We spend hours watching TV, playing video games, texting, and checking FB and other social media on our smart phones. Sometimes we just need a break from it all. That’s where camping comes in---leaving the city and cares of everyday life behind and getting back to nature can bring feelings of relaxation like no other activity.

Until the turn of the century, people’s lives were less complicated and people tended to stay closer to home, but with the invention of the automobile, people began to get out onto the road and started camping. Most people used tents or camped in the open air; but over the years motorhomes, truck campers, and travel trailers are getting more popular.

Here are a few tips for a good camping trip:Put your tent up before dark and bring LED lanterns and flashlights. Headlamps are nice, too.

Bring a sleeping mat or inflatable air mattress, ground cloth for under your tent, and a sleeping bag appropriate for weather conditions.

Be prepared for rain with a tarp to put over your tent and raingear or a poncho to keep you dry.

An old rug outside your tent where you take off your shoes will keep your tent cleaner.

Plan your meals, bringing only as much food as you need and prepare as much in advance as possible. Also make sure you have enough ice in your cooler to keep food preserved. Some foods can be transported frozen to keep them fresh longer. Note: Make sure your cooler’s closed all the way---we had a raccoon open our cooler (that wasn’t closed all the way) and help itself.

Bring water from home---a several-gallon container with a spigott turned on its side’s almost like having running water. If you can’t bring much water and there’s no water at the campground, boil local water for 10 minutes, or use a water filter.

Use paper plates and utensils if water won’t be available to wash your dishes. And make sure to carry out your trash in plastic bags. Throw food stuff from dishwashing in the trash rather than on the ground.

If you’re camping in wild country, be bear aware and keep food in sealed containers away from where you sleep. Also read up on bear safety and carry bear spray.

Bring the proper clothing for weather conditions, including layers for when it’s cooler. And bring sunscreen, insect repellant, and a first aid kit.

Make sure to research the area you’ll be camping in so you’ll be prepared for what you need to bring.

For years we used Eureka tents when we camped. When I checked the Eurekatent.com website, they listed 10 Health Benefits of Camping: Fresh air, socialization, improved moods, less stress, exercise, sunshine, sleep, healthier eating, new challenges, and meditation. All these benefits will send you home in a good mood, a lot less stressed, and looking forward to your next camping experience.

The great naturalist, John Muir said: Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity…This thought is so prophetic, especially since he lived from 1838-1914. He realized the direction humans were going---losing their connection with the outdoors and nature---and knew our souls crave the wilderness for peace. I hope you will take the next opportunity to go camping, or at least get out in nature to hike, relax, and appreciate our wonderful world.

I downloaded this new app called Heart Rate. It's great because it will track my resting heart rate and when I'm active. During my app search this month my church got a new app, LWFC. It has the latest sermon and so many other awesome features. A few games were added to my summer fun list: Color Me Summer, Two Dots, Catch Balls, and High Diving. Rising Star is a new show on TV that you can help vote for the singer and raise the wall via the phone app. The kids and I loved the excitement of voting live. PhotoGrid is a great app that has so many photo features, you can also add stickers! Lastly, my mother has been doing great selling things on eBay. Check her out at SEMYARTCOM for the latest treasures she finds. I hope to load a few things on eBay this summer, it's like having a virtual garage sale!

While I was chatting with my friend, Jim Rice, from The Clay Place, he mentioned he has worked with Collier Harvest for many years. I did some research and found that it is a chapter of U.S.A. Harvest. U.S.A. Harvest was first started in 1989. Founder Stan Curtis never dreamed it would be so successful! U.S.A. Harvest evolved out of Kentucky Harvest, and is very different from other charitable organizations because they're not fund-raisers, they're "FOOD-RAISERS!"

Their volunteers pick up surplus food from restaurants, hospitals, and food suppliers and deliver it to missions, soup kitchens, and people in need. It's a very simple and passionate concept that people can really relate to: Moving food from people who have too much, to those who have much too little!

The organization has expanded across the nation through the efforts of more than 125,000 volunteers.

They now have chapters in over 130 cities and towns from New York to Los Angeles, and from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Miami. However, hungry people exist in every corner of our country.

U.S.A. Harvest is now serving over 5,400 agencies nationwide. Their volunteers have provided over 437 Billion Pounds of food to these deserving organizations. And by doing so, they've helped them save millions of dollars that have been re-allocated to other extremely important needs such as clothing, shelter, job training and opportunities, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and counseling programs.

They are also proud to say that they accomplished all these great things even though they don't solicit or accept any money from the government!

In Collier County, the Collier Harvest chapter was started in 1992. They had about a dozen volunteers serving approximately fourteen relief agencies in the Greater Naples area. Today they have scores of regular volunteers and serve over 60 agencies. During the past decade they have delivered food to dozens of hunger relief agencies throughout southwest Florida.

The biggest event of the year occurs on the second weekend in May during the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) day. On this occasion hundreds of volunteers pitch in with postal workers and corporate sponsors from around the region to deliver items to local relief agencies. Annually they collect over 200,000 pounds of food in one weekend during their NALC food drive!
