What does Joburg mean to you.Joburg is a chaotic, rushed and materialistic place, but it’s home and I love it.

What inspired you to start your own blog?I’ve had a blog for almost as long as I can remember. I started my first blog with my best friend in grade 9 and I proceeded to write about embarrassing teenage things. Thankfully, I’ve deleted that one!

What does your blog encompass?I enjoy sharing beauty, travel and lifestyle content. I love travel and I try to share stories about the places I have been as possible.

Describe your style in three words…That’s hard! I just got a job so I am currently transitioning from a very casual style to a more, minimal look. I like to buy timeless, quality pieces and I am not always in touch with trends.

So three words: minimal, androgynous and cute.

Your favourite spot to shop in Jozi?I am a fast fashion girl, so I hate to say it, but you’ll find me at Sandton City.

Where can we follow you on social media?f /completedisbeliefT @zaamissbowtie @zaamissbowtie

6am For me, a normal weekend morning starts off with some cycling or running around the Cradle of Humankind out in Muldersdrift. We park our cars at Something Country, a great spot for a post-exercise cappuchino. The bigger the better. www.somethingcountry.co.za

10am One of my favourite breakfast spots in Jozi is 2B in Epsom Downs. They know me so well, I don’t even has to ask for my Very Berrie Smoothie. Delicious, refreshing and even better when served with a hearty breakast consisting of poached eggs, toast and depending on the rigourous nature of the exercise, either bacon or mince. www.facebook.com/2bcuisine

2pm I live in one of the nicest areas in the city, if I say so myself. The Parkhurst village is always buzzing and there’s always something fun on the go. If you’re looking for a vibe, Rocket and Espresso are defiitely where you need to be, and the calmer bits are just a little further down 4th. www.craftrestaurant.co.za

5pm As someone who loves the inner city and a place with a pulse and a backdrop of the city of gold is a winner, I highlighy recommend the Living Room. It’s perfect for the chilled December/January period where you’re either winding down, or prepping yourself for the year ahead. www.livingroomjozi.co.za

8pm The perfect way to wrap up a fun-filled day is to enjoy a home-made, gourmet burger at Dukes in Greenside. The service is on point, the food is delicious and they have an array of craft beers to choose from too. Take your friends, line the stomachs and enjoy the vibe. www.dukesburgers.co.za

It seems a pity Hello Joburgers, to miss such a grand opportunity and not visit the brand new Life Grand Café at the

Mall of the South. Having just opened its majestic doors in October we absolutely had to indulge.Lets set the scene; you enter the restaurant, which is mostly outdoors, enhancing the airy, carefree and cheerful atmosphere. The beautiful lime green furnishings and rose gold touches, catch your eye in the décor, it feels as if you are on the streets of Spain. We started our meal with a freshly squeezed orange, ginger and carrot juice. Real food, real easy. Then we took an adventure through the salad bar,

which quite literally is beautifully mind-blowing in its flavor and display. With an extensive selection of fresh artichokes, marinated olives, crunchy broccoli, plump sundried tomatoes and the juiciest, creamiest feta in town, we were spoiled for choice. Top it off with some buffalo mozzarella or seared tuna or even fillet steak- this is Mediterranean style cooking of dazzling sophistication and pizazz. Comfortable classics with a twist, this menu is inspirational, persuasive and delightful. For main we dabbled in the sushi, holding the highest standards of ingredients. The quality is substantial, solid and treated solely with love. We enjoyed the salmon sashimi salad of thinly sliced salmon dressed with soy sauce, enhanced with sweet onions and aromatic

sesame oil. The ceviche of salmon was also wonderful; we had to order a second! These tiny seasonal morsels of deliciousness, just beg to be enjoyed, especially on a warm summers day. Pair it with a glass of Chardonnay and it’s a ten out of ten. It’s simple: this restaurant just has the x factor and it sure is something special. H

The Countess- f it for royaltystarters the smoked chicken wings are non-negotiable and the artichoke and Parmesan pate with toasted bread is a raving victory. If you believe every bite is worth the calorie then you have to try the Truffle Mac and Cheese served with confit garlic toast and greens. Oh my heavens it is delicious, your taste buds will agree. The buttermilk marinated southern style fried chicken is also outstanding or you can opt for something fresh right outta the smoker- smoked slow, low and oh so yummo!P.S The Countess has their very own barista so if you have a passion for coffee and enjoy a warm cuppa, then this is just the spot! Whether you’re hitting the beach this holiday season or lazing by the poolside sipping a cocktail, the #TrendMen think that it’s important that you look great doing it. This month, we bring you the latest swimwear trends to ensure that you can be adequately attired this summer. Female swimwear is patterned and bright, with trendy citrus and pink shades. One-piece swimwear items – such as monokinis – have replaced the more traditional bikini. Well-placed cutouts and flattering silhouettes make the one-piece options incredibly alluring. Frills and interesting details such as ruffles and bejeweled swimwear are also trending this season. In addition, the 70s trend has found its way into swimwear with ombre and tie-dye prints becoming more popular as well as outdoor palazzo pants, jumpsuits and kaftans making a re-appearance. Top this off with a wide-brimmed sunhat to complete the look. For men, big baggy board shorts are out and tailored swim shorts that end just above the knee are in.
