Who is Taigum Child Edu-Care Centre?Taigum Child Edu-Care Centre is an independent, family-owned and run centre. Because we aren’t part of a larger chain, we can answer to our families, not to shareholders. Taigum Child Edu-Care Centre’s owner, Daphne, plays a hands-on role in the day-to-day activities of the centre and ensures the staff and children have all the resources they need.

Our staff are highly skilled and most have been with us for at least five years. All are over eighteen and either have completed, or are completing, tertiary study in early childhood education. They offer a loving, nurturing environment that provides the stability your little ones need to thrive in their most formative years.

Caring and learningChoosing a care provider is one of the most difficult decisions parents face in the early years. We believe child care is a lot more complex than changing nappies, feeding children and babysitting.

Children have an enormous capacity to learn in the first few years of life, but they also need a lot of care. That’s why we embed educational opportunities in the care we give, just like you do at home.

We are very proud of our facilities and of providing the latest equipment. We do not partake in any fundraising for the centre. Your daily fee covers all aspects of the program/resources except for in-house performers like puppets or theatre.

Valuing our educatorsOur centre has one of the lowest turnover rates because our educators love working here. We treat our educators as the professionals they are, employing contract cleaners daily so caregivers are not taken away from their important work with your children.

Our strong group of educators provide a stable environment for your child and we only hire people who love what they do. Our educators attend as many seminars as possible on important issues related to child care to make sure their skills and practices stay current.
