Helping You Manage the Lifecycle of Your Assets Company gains visibility into assets and maintenance contracts and completes network upgrade on-time, within budget Phased Migration Plan Updates Back-End Network, Increases Security CHALLENGE A restaurant franchise with 300 plus locations that utilizes POS, iPad ordering and guest internet had an outdated network, security concerns, and was struggling with managing their assets and maintenance contracts. The Company needed a plan to upgrade their network and safeguard their security vulnerabilities and a means to keep track of their assets. SOLUTION LaSalle conducted wireless assessments to determine the company’s existing coverage and assets in their restaurants and offices. Using this information, LaSalle implemented their cloud-based toolset, LAMP SM , to not only manage the Company’s asset, but also give them visibility into their network to show end-of-life and end-of service issues, contract coverage and vulnerabilities. With the use of LAMP, LaSalle worked closely with their Cisco Team and started a four year migration plan to totally refresh the Company’s network, redesign their DC, increase security and upgrade the back end of their restaurants to make sure they had the features, speed, storage, and security they needed for their company, customers and PCI compliance. With new visibility to all their assets and suggested migration paths, Cisco and LaSalle designed their upgrades in phases to accommodate the Company’s needs and corporate budgets. Phase 1 was an upgrade of their network at their main office/DC with N7K switches, ASA’s, UCS and virtualization. Phase 2 was the addition of Cisco Voice, VDI and a new UCS DR site. Phase 3 was an overhaul of the restaurants, which was itself two phases with new Meraki AP’s and Switches, 150+ store per phase. Phase 4 is now being carried out by implementing Cisco 1 routers (4351) in all restaurants and ISE. RESULTS The Company’s network upgrade is nearing completion, and they now have complete knowledge of their network, where it resides, SMARTnet Coverage, and end-of-life/end-of service information. With LAMP, they continue to effectively manage their assets and contracts and make informed, timely decisions about lifecycle management, upgrade paths and implementing new technologies.
