For more than 35 years, the Abdul Ghaffar Hussain family has represented Hepworth UK and many other principal partners in the UAE and broader GCC. Having established a business of great strength and prestige, a new era of regional and international expansion will commence under a new name and new identity.

A BRAND OF EXCELLENCE

Corys was the name of the great Arabian river that Herodotus, the father of history, wrote about in his famous work ‘The Histories’ more than 2000 years ago. He spoke about an ancient Arabian king who created pipelines from the skin of beasts and used them to transport water from the river Corys deep into the desert. It is that innovative and pioneering achievement that we celebrate in selecting our new name.

Corys is now the holding company for the Hepworth PME, its joint ventures and all the relationships with principals represented in the region. This change marks the beginning of a new brand structure and will guide the company’s growth over the next few years.

During this transition, Corys will undertake a major expansion, including the opening of our new plant in Dubai Industrial City, and a period of diversification as we utilize our strengths to develop new opportunities. FABRICATION

UPVC FABRICATION

For 34 years Hepworth PME has led the field in the design and manufacture of special plastic fittings.

Hepworth PME’s engineered fittings have been installed on sewerage, water supply, irrigation, firemains, soil and waste contracts throughout the Middle East.

Grease traps, end caps, land drain slotted pipes, long radius bends for street lighting bends, road gullys, catch basins and sealed dry manholes are just some of the products manufactured by Hepworth PME’s Fabrication Deptartment.

POLYETHYLENE PIPE SYSTEMS

The HEPWORTH PME Rashidiya complex in Dubai began production of a full range of polyethylene pipe products for gas and water distribution in 1999.

Polyethylene is recognised internationally as the safest, most practical and adaptable product for gas and water distribution. Polyethylene is flexible, leak-tight and highly resistant to chemical attack.

At Hepworth PME we manufacture medium density polyethylene gas distribution pipes to the performance requirements of B.G. Transco technical specification PL2: Part 1, and ISO4437. This pipe is suitable for natural gas, liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and certain other manufactured fuel gases. Hepworth PME sell standard 6 m and 12 m. lengths and coil. Other lengths are available to order.

Hepworth PME manufacture polyethylene blue and black pipes that are included on the Water Research Centre’s list of approved materials for use in contact with potable water.

Pipe sizes range from 13 mm to1000 mm and lengths of 150 m coils to 12 m long sticks.

Our skilled work force operate within the parameters laid down by the British Standards Institution (BSI) to produce high quality products engineered from PVC-U, ABS and CPVC.

The engineers form, shape and adapt a multitude of plastic products to precise specifications, using only the highest grade of plastic raw materials in sheet, tube and solid bar form.

All joints are spark tested to ensure the weld is strong, air and watertight. Hepworth PME has the only facility in the UAE for the drop test in accordance with the BS EN 1401-1 for fabricated fittings.

GRP FABRICATION

Hepworth PME is the industry leader in the production of special GRP fittings.

Hepworth GRP fittings and joints are suitable for a range of applications for chemicals, water and effluents, seawater, etc. These can be specially manufactured for potable water applications also. Hepworth GRP fittings and joints carry a Water Research Centre listing as suitable for use in potable water application.

GRP Fittings are produced as standard to suit all three ranges of fibre cement pipes (AC), ductile iron (DI) pipes and PVC pipelines.

These are manufactured to DIN/BS/ASTM/JIS/AS/ASME/AWWA/ standards and can be manufactured up to 1200 mm diameter.

Special fittings can be tailor made for individual application in our GRP Fabrication Department by our qualified and experienced technicians.

A full range of GRP fittings are manufactured e.g. range of bends, tees, wyes, reducers, and flange adaptors, end caps and plugs, sand baskets, grease traps and covers.

QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEMContinous quality control is assured by Hepworth PME’s independent quality control unit.

HEPWORTH UK

Hepworth UK Products cover soil, waste and drainage pipe systems as well as Hep2O flexible hot & cold plumbing systems. Other products include water and gas distribution systems, electricity and telecommunications ducting with exports to approximately 40 countries worldwide.

The origins of modern flexible plumbing systems can be traced back over 20 years. Hepworth UK introduced the first flexible range. Hep2O is the most comprehensive and sophisticated flexible push-fit plumbing range available, unique to the industry and warranting long-time usage.

The range of soil and waste drainage products comprise of fittings manufactured according to official British Standards with Kitemark certification.

All of the company’s ranges are supported by comprehensive sales, technical and distribution services.

EURAPIPE

Eurapipe has over 30 years experience and leadership in material technology and product development, and has repeatedly proven the reliability and robustness of its products.

Eurapipe’s ABS pipes and fittings are designed and manufactured in accordance with AS 3518:2004; the stringent international standard for ABS piping systems.

McALPINE

McAlpine started manufacturing plumbing products in 1902 and in 1957 was the first UK company to manufacture plastic traps. The Quality Assurance Laboratory of Hepworth PME is equipped with state-of-the art equipment and staffed with trained quality control inspectors. The laboratory performs ‘round the clock’ testing on all pipes produced at Hepworth PME to ensure quality is guaranteed.

Featuring the latest European equipment and certified by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme, the Laboratory operates 24 hours a day with a 12 strong team.

Types of testing include both long and short term, pressure and thermal testing which is rigorously carried out ensuring our fullest commitment to the highest industry standards.

Following the QC ISO 9001: 2000 system, we are proud to hold 11 BS Kitemark licences, which we hope to increase in the near future. A veritable pioneer within the field, we were the first to achieve the BS Kitemark within the industry and have recently become the first company in the Middle East to earn certification from Factory Mutual for the manufacture of polyethylene used in fire fighting pipe systems.

Our Quality Control department are also involved in the provision of solutions for complete systems in conjunction with our sales engineers.

FACILITIES AND CAPABILITIES

Corys have manufacturing units in Rashidiya (Dubai), DIP and Qatar as well as fabrication workshops in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

A new unit within DIC is due to open in 2010 that will double production capacity which will accommodate expansion within the UAE and other export markets.

Corys employs more than 800 staff across all of it’s sites, and offers its customers a range of more than 25000 products. A fleet of over 50 vehicles allows delivery to your site within an efficient timeframe.

Production is achieved with the use of European equipment of the highest quality from suppliers such as KraussMeffai, Battenfeld, Weber and Engel, and raw material from suppliers such as Bourage and Sabic.
