MICHELE AND JIM WARREN’S OLD KITCHEN was much like every other kitchen built in the 1960s — small and poorly planned. “Our old kitchen was dated, with ine - cient appliances and pressboard cabinets,” Michele says. “Not to mention, an electric coil stove.” The couple’s goal was simple: an open, updated space to suit their family’s needs. With two young sons — Kameron, 8, and Colton, 3 — an old, cramped space just wouldn’t do. The Warrens called in Jamie Jackson of Jamie Jackson Design to create the new, beach-inspired kitchen. “I selected Jamie because she really has the ability to incorporate both ‘husband and wife’ ideas together beautifully,” Michele explains. “After all, we are both great cooks — at least we think so!” The Warrens now have ample space to prep and cook, with a large island, two sinks, a huge open counter and brand-new appliances. “We would say our new kitchen has changed our lives in the way that we have more great friends,” Michele laughs. “We can entertain for big groups with ease. We even have cooking parties because our new kitchen has so much more room to create!” Needless to say, Michele and Jim could not be happier with the renovation — on  both pe rsonal and prac tical l evels.
