Hill View Primary School
We’ve got an exciting week of events and visits coming up - don’t forget to
check the ‘Coming Up…` section for all the important upcoming dates.
Adam Gulliver had an amazing time representing Dorset at the County
Athletic Association competition. He competed in 4 events, jumped a
personal best of 2.05m and came 2nd overall. This is a huge achievement and
we’re immensely proud of him. Well done Adam!
SSCT Parent E-Safety Class
This is a huge opportunity for those of you who are less sure of what your
children get up to online, and what you can do to support and protect your
child. The presentation led by Dorset Police Safer Schools Community Team
will take place on March 23rd at 2:15pm and is likely to last an hour. Please
do come along and join us - it’s going to be a very worthwhile session for
everyone.
Year 6 Trips and Visits Payment Deadline
For those of you who are yet to make the final contribution to Year 6 Trips
and Visits payments, please be advised the final payment deadline is Friday
17th March. Please make your payments via WisePay - the link can be found
on the school website.
Year 2 SATs Meeting
If you were unable to make the meeting, or if you would like another look at
the information provided, the slideshow has been uploaded to the school
website under Year 2 Letters. Please visit hillviewprimary.co.uk/year-2-4/.
Year 4 Sporting Event at Bournemouth University
Mrs Taylor would like to thank everyone for their interest in the visit to
Bournemouth University on Friday. Unfortunately it was very oversubscribed
so some children were unable to attend, but we hope to organise another
visit in the Summer term.
National CSE Awareness Day - March 18th
The National Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Awareness Day aims to highlight
the issues surrounding CSE; encouraging everyone to think, spot and speak
out against abuse and adopt a zero tolerance to adults developing
inappropriate relationships with children or children developing inappropriate
relationships with other children. More information regarding preventing and
recognising CSE is attached in the Barnardos leaflet.
Book Amnesty
We’re holding a book amnesty! Any books that belong to school in any
condition can be brought back into school, no questions asked, for the next
two weeks. We’re missing a lot of books, so would appreciate if everyone
could look carefully at home and bring them back to us.
Persuasive Writing
During a recent piece of classwork, Isabel Laker, Isabella Willington, Milly
Sansom and Lacey Chamberlain all took the opportunity to write a persuasive
letter to Mrs Simpson asking for a new class pet.
Their use of persuasive language, handwriting and some excellent reasoning
meant Mrs Simpson couldn’t say no! The girls went to the pet shop on
Tuesday to pick up their new class pet. Later that day the class chose a name -
welcome to our school, Harry (Potter) Edison!
Year 5 and 6 took part in a tag rugby competition last Tuesday. We expect to
hear the results from this soon.
Please see the front page for some news about Adam Gulliver. He’s had an
amazing week!
There is no tennis coaching taking place this week. It will begin again the
week of 20th March.
HV Sports Update
This week’s sports trophy winner was Maisie Smith for her dancing and gymnastics! Well done!
