Mission of Faculty of Computers and Information,cairo university

The Faculty is committed to providing high quality under-graduate and graduate informatics education that benefits students and society. This is done through continuous improvement of the curricula, emphasis on quality, and integration of research, teaching and learning activities.

The Administration : to enhance the faculty infrastructure and administration performance to support its educational, research and societal activities. Meanwhile, the Faculty will endeavor to attract private and public funding.

The Students : to be prepared for professional practice to increase their employability and to be competitive at the national, regional, and international levels. This will be achieved through solid foundational knowledge in the information, communication, and decision support disciplines, basic and specialized training, and improved soft skills.

The Academic Staff : to conduct research, integrated with education, in selected areas of excellence that are technologically important and relevant to our society. They will work with business, industry, and academia to exploit their research and development capabilities, where research priorities are linked to socio-economic needs of the society.

The Faculty aspires to become recognized at the national, regional and international levels as one of the best in informatics education and research.

The Faculty of Computers and Information (FCI) at Cairo University will be viewed by the citizens of Egypt, and the region, as their first and best resource for education and applied research in all aspects of the knowledge society.

Goals of Faculty of Computers and Information,cairo university

1. Producing specialists in the fields of computers and information qualified with both the theoretical fundamentals & applied approaches that enable them to compete inter-nationally in developing information and computers technology and their applications.

2. Carrying out scientific and applied research in the fields of computers and information particularly in those areas that have a direct effect on the comprehensive development of the community and establishing specialized research units for the various branches of computers and information.

3. Providing scientific and technical consultations to the institutions and authorities that use the technologies of computers and information and are interested in the industry of decision taking and support.

4. Training the technical cadres of the various state sectors on the technology of computers and information.

5. Spreading awareness in the community with the aim of using the computers and information technology in the various institutions and sectors of the state and promoting the efficiency of the usage of this technology.

6. Holding conferences and conducting scientific sessions with the aim of promoting the educational standards & entrenching scientific concepts among the specialized cadres.

7. Concluding scientific agreements with the establishments and institutions in the same field locally, regionally and internationally for the purpose of exchanging experiences, ideas, points of views and performing researches related to computers and information.

8. Providing and supporting publications and scientific research in all fields of the discipline.
