Journey through the BibleDay by Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Depart USAYour spiritual pilgrimage begins as you depart the USA on aninternational flight.

Day 2 - Arrive in the Holy Land You will be welcomed to the Holy Land by our airport repre-sentative and transferred to your hotel in Bethlehem for din-ner and overnight.

Day 3 - Kasr El Yehud, Jericho, Bethlehem Visit the Baptismal Site at Kasr el Yehud, the traditional siteof the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. Jericho is the old-est known inhabited city in the world. Visitthe ruins of the ancient city, which wasconquered by Joshua (Josh. 6: 1, 2, 20) andsee parts of the ancient city walls whichhave been uncovered. From Jericho youcan see the traditional site of the Tempta-tion of Jesus (Matt .4: 1 -11) and theJudean wilderness. Look out over the Val-ley of the Shadow toward St. George's monastery (Psalms23). In Bethlehem visit the cave where Jesus was born andthe church which has been constructed on the site (Matthew1: 18 -25; Luke 2: 1 -7). Nearby, visit the Shepherds’ Fieldwhere the Good News was first heard. Overnight in Bethle-hem.

Day 4 - Qumran, and MasadaTravel to Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scroll discovery, to

discuss the mysterious community of Es-senes who once lived on the shores of theDead Sea. Visit Masada, Herod’s moun-taintop fortress which became the laststronghold of the Jewish Rebellion againstthe Romans. Ride the cable car to the topto explore. Peer down upon the remainsof the Roman camps and siege ramp

below. We’ll journey to the oasis of Ein Gedi, where Davidand his men sought refuge from Saul (1 Samuel 23).Time per-mitting; you’ll stop briefly at the Shores of the Dead Sea fora quick dip in the salt and mineral laden waters. Return toBethlehem for overnight.

Day 5 - Jacob's Well, Samaria, Nazareth, Cana, Sea ofGalilee Today visit modern day Nablus (ancient Shechem) and seeJacob's well where Christ encountered the Samaritan woman(John 4). See Mt. Ebal and Mt. Gerizim where the Israelitesrecited the blessings and cursings of the Law. Continue to

Samaria, the capital of the Northern Kingdom, and home toAhab and Jezebel. Continue past Tel Dothan, thought to bethe place where Joseph found his brothers with their flocks(Genesis 37). We’ll visit Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home(Matthew 2: 23) and Cana, the site of Christ's first miracle.With Bible in hand, cross the waters of the Sea of Galilee

aboard a Kinnereth Sailing Company boat.Along the way, participate in a special onboard worship service. (Non-BrochureNote: Sail from Ein Gev to Jesus Boat)See the 2,000 year old boat that sailed theSea in the days of Jesus. Check into yourGalilee hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 - Northern Israel and the Galilee Today we’ll journey to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter pro-claimed, "You are the Christ" (Matthew 16). Travel to Caper-naum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee. Visit thesynagogue which stands on the site where Jesus taught. Recallhis teaching and preaching the gospel of the kingdom (Matt.4:13, 23). Travel to the Mount of Beatitude where Jesuspreached to the people (Matt. 5 -7). At Tabgha, the traditionallocation for the calling of the disciples and the feeding of the5000, you’ll visit the Church of the Fish and the Loaves (Luke9:10 -17). You’ll also visit the Chapel of the Primacy wherethree times Peter professed his devotion to the risen Christ(John 21).

Day 7 - Megiddo, Sepphoris, Mt. Carmel, Caesarea Travel the ancient caravan route through the Jezreel Valley toTel Megiddo where 20 different cities lie superimposed uponeach other. Visit Sepphoris, the cosmopolitan Roman capitalof Galilee until Herod Antipas built Tiberias. It is heralded asthe traditional birthplace of Mary. Ascend Mt. Carmel whereElijah defeated the prophets of Baal and overlook modernday Haifa (I Kings 18). Visit the Roman Aqueduct and The-atre at Caesarea, a center of the early Christians. Here, Cor-nelius became the first Gentile convert to the new religion(Acts 10) and Paul was imprisoned before being taken toRome for Trial. Look out over Jerusalem from Mount Scopusbefore checking into your Jerusalem hotel for dinner andovernight.

Day 8 - Jerusalem Leave the Old City and stand atop the Mount of Olives asJesus did and enjoy a remarkable view of the "Golden City"of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount and Dome of theRock. Forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascended intoheaven from the Mount of Olives (Acts 1: 9 -12). Walk to the

Garden of Gethsemane and pray there as Jesus prayed (Matt.26:36 -44). Stroll down the Kidron Valley to the GihonSpring, the ancient water source of the city of Jerusalem andsee the entrance to Hezekiah’s Tunnel. On Mount Zion youwill stand in the Upper Room, revered as the site of the LastSupper (Mark 14: 12 -26). Understand better the Jerusalemof Jesus’ day with a look at the First Cen-tury Model of the City of Jerusalem, nowhoused at the Israel Museum. The mu-seum itself houses 10,000 years of arche-ological artifacts. Also visit the Shrine ofthe Book, where the Book of Isaiah, dis-covered among the Dead Sea Scrolls, isdisplayed.

Day 9 - Jerusalem Conditions Permitting; walk the Temple Mount. This morn-ing enjoy a walking tour of the Old City of Jerusalem, andwalk the Cardo, the ancient main street of the Old City oncelined with shops and now partially restored. Visit the David-son Center and the Southern Wall Excavations including theTeaching Steps, the Western Wall. Follow the Herodian Sup-port Wall and walk on First Century pavement in the Rabbi's

Tunnel. View the Pool of Bethesda (John5: 1-31) where Jesus performed the Sab-bath miracle. Visit Herod’s AntoniaFortress where Jesus was brought beforePontius Pilate (Luke 23: 1 -11). Walk theVia Dolorosa, "the Way of the Cross", andstand in reverence at the Church of theHoly Sepulchre. Visit the Garden Tomb,

possible site of the garden of Joseph of Arimathea and ex-perience the reality of the Resurrection.

Day 10 - Free Day Explore Jerusalem on your own or rest and reflect on the bib-lical sites already seen.

Day 11 - Nebi Samuel, Emmaus, Valley of Elah See the Archaeological study being done at Emek Tzurim,where excavations from under the Temple Mount are beingstudied. This afternoon, visit Nebi Samuel, thought to bethe burial place of the prophet Samuel and for a final viewof Jerusalem. Travel to Emmaus where Jesus, after His res-urrection, was invited to visit with two of his disciples whodid not recognize Him until He blessed and broke bread withthem (Luke 24:13-17, 28-31). We will hold a small servicehere. After dinner, continue to the airport for your returnflight to the USA.

Day 12 - Return to the USA Return home with memories of the people and places of theHoly Land.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Price is based on double occupancy. When available, single rooms are often smaller than dou-bles.While EOT will try to match roommates, EOT cannot guarantee a roommate will be available.Roommates may be assigned as late as 35 days prior to departure and, if one is not available oryou request a single room, the following charges apply: $648.

AIRLINE ROUTES and TICKETS:In order to keep prices low, EOT does not guarantee the most direct routing to your final destination. Once “printed”, airline tickets cannot be changed or refunded thereafter. Air transportation to/from your destination will be economy class on IATA and ARC carriers utilizing APEX or SUPER APEXnon-refundable, non-amendable tickets for groups of 10 or more flying together on entire itinerary.

FLIGHT TIMES:All flight times are subject to change by the airlines without advance notice. EOT is not responsible for such changes or delays and does not reimburse expenses resulting fromsuch delays. If making own flight arrangements to departure city, we recommend you purchase aticket which can be changed without large penalties.

ITINERARY CHANGES:Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this brochure. While you will see all sites listedin this brochure, the order of sites and/or days and number of days may be altered to accommodatechanges in airline, hotel schedules, and local conditions. Due to airline schedules, some participantsmay receive one or two extra leisure days at a nominal per day charge and some extensions may notbe available on all departure dates. If itinerary changes necessitate extra overnights, you will be charged$100 per night; single rooms $180 per night. Meals for extra nights are not included.

CANCELLATION FEES: 100% of Cancellation Fees are covered by the optional Travel Protection Program provided premium has been paid and reason for cancellation is insurable. Those who do not taketravel protection should be aware of the following cancellation penalties: From day of reg-istration to 105 days prior to departure, you will be charged the $100 non-refundable admin-istrative fee plus any airline fees. Additionally, thereafter, you will be charged any airlinepenalties and a single room supplement if your cancellation forces your roommate into asingle plus the following charges: 104-60 days = $400; 59-45 days = $600; 44-31 days = 40%of total cost; 30 days to day of departure = 100% of total cost. Submit cancellation in writing.On or after day of departure, no refund for any services not used.

FIT TO TRAVEL STATEMENT:Passengers registering for the tour accept the responsibility for being in good health andable to walk and travel on the tour. Because many of the sites are not accessible to the phys-ically challenged , those needing wheelchairs, oxygen, or other ambulatory assistance willfind the tour extremely limiting in their experiences.
