Santa’s Train

Santa’s Express on Mt. Rainer Scenic Railway: “All Aboard!” this historic steam train each weekend Nov. 29 thru Dec. 22. This special event lasts about 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on weather and track conditions. It’s a ride thru the forest and foothills of Mt. Rainier while visiting Santa, sipping hot cocoa and making holiday memories. Unfortunately, due to popular demand, all Santa’s Train schedules are “sold out” but they’re still accepting wait list. Northwest Railway Museum’s Santa Train. Travel to Snoqualmie to visit a Victorian depot. A Northwest tradition since 1969, where participants of all ages will travel by train from North Bend for a visit with Santa Claus at Snoqualmie and will enjoy a refreshment (included in the ticket price) served from the Museum’s railway kitchen car. Children will receive a small gift, while visitors have time to explore local shops and attractions before the ride back to North Bend. Train runs from Nov 29 to Dec 20 on weekends. Ticket price: $20 Seating is not assigned, so arrive early at North Bend Depot, 205 McClellan St., North Bend. www.trainmuseum.org.

Toy Train Christmas – Saturday and Sunday from Nov 29 to Dec 21 from 10am to 4pm. Price $8 adults & $5 kids. The Toy Train Christmas is intended to bring back the old days when toy trains were common around the Christmas tree. There will be about 60 operating layouts to include a full range of electric trains in operation from smallest Z gauge to a large garden scale layout from old to new models. Many hands-on activities for the kids and crafts projects, plus a caboose ride from the depot to the “North Pole” to see Santa. www.nprymuseum.org

Holiday Freebies FREE Tickets to the Seattle Symphony Performance:

The Family Resource Center (FRC) have been provided 30 tickets to the Seattle Symphony Performance with Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, conductor and Joshua Roman, playing the cello. The date of this performance is December 13th, 2014, beginning at 8:00pm in Benarya Hall, Home of the Seattle Symphony. A Pre-concert Talk will be presented one hour prior to the performance. FRC is offering these tickets on a first come first serve basis until they are given away; the tickets can be picked up at the FRC Front Desk during normal hours of 0800-1630, Monday through Friday. Ticket distribution is limited to 4 per person and this offer is only open to Military ID Card holders.
