Tom DallTom Dall was first elected Trustee for the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board in November 2000, and was active for many years before on local Catholic school councils. He is currently the Chair of the Board, and has served as Vice-Chair of the Board .… Tom has served on various committees – Special Education Advisory Committee, System School Council, Catholic School Council Association, Policy Review Committee, Teacher/Trustee Liaison Committee, M.P.P./Board Liaison Committee, Suspension/Expulsion Committee and the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic Education Foundation Committee. He also served as Chair of the ALCE Foundation for four years. Tom has been a strong advocate of Catholic education in Ontario and continues to champion parent advocacy.

First elected in 2006, John is the current Vice-Chair of the Board. A strong advocate of social justice issues, John has served on numerous committees such as Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic Education Foundation, Trustee Executive Committee, Social Justice Committee, MPP/Board Liaison Committee, Catholic Education Week Committee, Catholic School Council Association Committee and the Suspension/Expulsion Committee. John is a retired educator with ALCDSB.

Gavin CosgroveGavin Cosgrove was appointed Trustee for the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (“ALCDSB”) on February 18, 2014 to fill the vacancy left from the passing of long serving Trustee Wilf Garrah. Born and raised in Kingston, Gavin attended elementary school at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and École Cathédrale Catholique and graduated from Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School. Gavin and his wife Whiteney, also a product of the ALCDSB, are parishioners at Holy Family Parish in Kingston. Gavin has a diverse educational background. In addition to having a bachelor of science degree in Economics from Manhattan College, a Catholic liberal arts college in New York City, he studied at teh East China University of Politics and Law in Shanghai, China and earned a law degree from the University of New Brunswick.

Lindsay Reinelt

Lindsay has a degree in education and has taught at the Grades 7, 8 and 9 level. However, the bulk of his career has been spent as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. He has resided in Kingston for the past 16 years, and in 2013 was ordained as a deacon, assigned as part of the pastoral ministry team at a Kingston parish. Lindsay and his wife Karen King have four adult children and four grandchildren. He looks forward to supporting and contributing to the Board’s mission which recognizes both the challenges of the future and the need to leverage a Catholic education to prepare emerging leaders who will guide us on the way, a way made visible by the light of education and the light of Christ.

Kirk RomanyKingston resident Kirk Romany is seeking election as a Trustees for the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board. Believing that schools are the heart of a community, he is passionate about the Catholic education system and wants to give back to the system in which he received his education. He unequivocally believes that honesty, integrity, accountability, equality and communication are necessary hallmarks of good Trustee. Kirk has worked in the field of finance for 15 years. He is active in his community through coaching church league sports and charities for underprivileged youth. He has resided in Kingston for 25 years.

Terry SheaTerry Shea has been a Trustee serving Kingston and the Islands for a total of six terms. During his time as Trustee, he has served as Chair of many committees and as Vice-Chair of the Board. His background is marketing, working in radio, TV and print in Kingston and he was a member of the part time faculty at St. Lawrence College for 11 years. He is semi-retired, and is currently under contract with a community newspaper providing marketing leadership. Terry and his wife have three daughters.

Catharina SummersFirst elected as a Catholic school Trustee in 2010, Catharina Summers brings to the position 35 years as an educator, with 28 years’ experience in the Catholic system. She is passionate about Catholic education and what happens in the classroom, and feels her experiences give her the insight to make a difference. She is currently the Chair of the Finance and Operations Committee, and has served on committees including Catholic Education Week, Food Sharing Project, Catholic Character and Culture, Catholic School Council Association and Aboriginal Education Advisory Committee.

Kathy Turkington

Kathy has been a Trustee since 2006. She has served as Vice-Chair of the Board, Chair of the Finance and Operations Committees, Chair of the Special Education Committee, Vice-Chair of the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic Education Foundation. In addition, Kathy has been a member of the Catholic Character and Culture Committee, Food Sharing Committee, Audit Committee and the Catholic Education Week Committee. Kathy advocates for a strong Catholic school system, serving the needs of its students in the best possible manner.

Greg Speagle is seeking re-election for a third term, having been first elected in 2006. Greg is a retired teacher and Principal and worked for the Board for 35 years, in both the elementary and secondary panels. He has been Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of Issues and Directions three times. His committee work has been with the Special Education Advisory, Accessibility Working Group, Facilities Enhancement Review, Supervised Alternative Learning, and the M.P.P. Board Liaison. Greg is an active volunteer in the schools of the Board, particularly with the officiating of system-level track and field meets, cross country meets and coaching high school football at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School. Greg is committed to continuing his service to the Catholic community by representing the interests of students, parents, and Catholic ratepayers across the entire jurisdiction of the Board.

Wendy Procter

Wendy Procter was first elected as Trustee in 1999. A strong advocate for rural schools, Wendy is the current Chair of the Audit Committee. She has served on numerous committees, including Aboriginal Education, Accessibility Working Group, Facilities Enhancement Review, Policy Review, Board Accommodation Review and Pupil Accommodation Review. She served as Chair of the Finance and Operations Committee, and is currently the Chair of the Audit Committee. Wendy operates a bookkeeping business and has served as CWL Treasurer for 28 years, and been on parish council for nine years.

Brian Kerby, owner of Quinte Business System, was first elected Trustee for the ALCDSB in June 1999. He has served as Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of the Finance and Operations Committee and was Co-Chair of the Quinte West Accommodation Review Committee.
